Star Wars Classic Games X-wing Alliance (1999) Intro Battle In Full 1080p Prometheus of Videos 2015-04-30 | The “Omega” of the X-wing Series; the end of an era of fantastic games by LucasArts. The day and life of the Rebellion and receiving help from neutral merchants such as the Azzameen family. After delivering Bacta to a Rebel base, the Azzameens head home in their YT-2000 Corellian transport the Otana with X-wing escort. However, Imperial forces arrive with Star Destroyers and TIE fighters. The Rebel base fire shots from their ion cannon to disable one of the Star Destroyers while the X-wings engage the TIEs in a heated dogfight. The TIEs inflict damage to the Otana but the X-wings manage to destroy them allowing the Otana to fly past the disabled Star Destroyer and jump to hyperspace. However while in hyperspace, the Azzameens note the damage is pretty severe so they make a stop at a station where they’re quickly shooed away because the station doesn’t want to deal with anyone who is helping out the Rebellion as most merchants want to stay out of the Galactic Civil War. This leads to the Azzameens home base where one of their two YT-1300 transports picks up a container and drops it off before it flies off for a delivery. Millennium Falcon fans will recognize these ships as it’s the same class as Han Solo’s famous transport. The story of X-wing Alliance (XWA) follow the Azzameen family, neutral traders who are sympathetic to the Rebellion and help them out when they can, making deliveries and what not. Compute! Magazine said the game succeeds at being "the first authentic space-combat simulator". GameSpot called X-Wing "one of the best" Star Wars games and an example of how immersive a game can be; they specifically praised the game's graphics, attention to detail, audio (gotta love that MIDI music!) and story.In this introduction, Star Destroyers while on patrol encounter Rebel Mon Calamari Cruisers. TIE fighters are deployed to attack the Rebel ships. In retaliation, the Mon Cal Cruiser Independence deploys its X-wings to fend off the TIEs in a dogfight filled with well-known phrases from the Star Wars movies. Victorious the X-wings fly away and then back as the logo appears.I remember buying this game as a kid, and playing it via floppy disks. This was everything the reviews said and then some. It’s so sad this genre of games died out. I heard it was ‘too difficult and complicated’ for a lot of people since it was a simulator platform; which meant it was as realistic as possible! Where you determine how much power goes to the engines, shields, and lasers. While taking damage you can divert power from the lasers to the shields or if you need some extra fire power you can divert power from shields to the lasers. When things get damaged, your R2 unit or onboard computer will do repairs…I loved it!
Terminator 2: Judgment Day - The Resistance vs Skynet (Opening Battle of Movie) 1080p Prometheus of Videos 2015-04-19 | The opening action sequence of James Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day. (Sorry, due to copyright issues I had to keep this short. However I’m able to show what I wanted; a brief look at the war known as ‘Judgment Day’ between the Human Resistance and Skynet. As Sarah Connor said in the opening narration, the remaining humans faced a new nightmare in the form of terrifying Terminators, Tanks, and Hunters. Thanks to the late Stan Winston, he brought everything to life through practical means. This was done with a combination of scale model Terminators that were full sized and puppets, model flying Hunters, and creative camera work. So much hard work and heart can be seen in this 1 minute clip. After over 24 years, these special effects hold up extremely well.No copyright infringement intended.
Star Trek II Wrath of Khan - Reliant Vs Enterprise; First Clash 1080p Prometheus of Videos 2015-04-11 | (WARNING: LOUD VOLUME)From what many fans consider the BEST Star Trek movie; the initial face off in the film between Khan and Kirk. With great performances all around especially by the late Ricardo Montalbán, James Doohan & Leonard Nimoy.After Khan hijacks the Reliant, he used Chekov to notify space lab Regula I of Reliant's pending arrival and their intention to retrieve all Genesis information, "as ordered by Admiral Kirk." Khan's lure proved successful. The Enterprise, engaged in a training cruise at the time, altered course to investigate the odd reports from Regula I. Khan intercepted the Enterprise, which was en route to Regula I. Concealing her intent, Reliant approached, feigning communications trouble, and mounting a devastating surprise attack using the Reliant's phasers to cripple the Enterprise. Khan hailed to gloat over his triumph and discuss terms of surrender. His only reward proved to be Kirk's initial open-mouthed stare of surprise. The parley allowed the more experienced starship commander to override the Reliant's tactical systems using the ship's prefix code to access them. With a few weak phaser shots from the Enterprise, the Reliant lost photon control and warp power (which would also disable the phasers), forcing Khan to retreat to Regula I

ILM's awesome model work is displayed with visuals and effects that still hold up today.Detailed Summary:The Enterprise races to Khitomer to stop an assassination attempt that’s part of a scheme to undermine peace talks between The United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire. As the Enterprise enters the sector, Uhura informs Kirk that she can't hear the Bird-of-Prey's engine, which meant they were rigged for silent running.As the Enterprise gets within transporter range, Chang hails the vessel, taunting Kirk, boasting his ship's invisibility and proceeds to fire relentlessly causing severe damage to the Enterprise. Meanwhile, a desperate Sulu ordered the Excelsior flown to her limits to help Enterprise.The Enterprise continued orbiting the planet, as Kirk's legendary tactical skills were of no use against an invisible enemy. After recovering from a torpedo blow, Spock noted that the Bird-of-Prey released ionized gas under impulse power, Uhura responded that the ship was carrying equipment to catalog gaseous anomalies. Spock asked Dr. McCoy to assist him in the modification of a torpedo.Fortunately for the Enterprise, the Excelsior entered the sector and raised its shields in attempts to draw fire. With the shields weakened, Chang took advantage and fired a torpedo from underneath the Enterprise; this time the torpedo punctured the hull and exited the other side; destroying, among other things, the Enterprise's dining room.At this point, McCoy and Spock were in the forward torpedo tube, modifying a torpedo hoping it’ll detect the cloaked Bird-of-Prey. As they were finishing Kirk yelled at them for the torpedo. Once modifications were complete, McCoy informed the captain that the torpedo was ready.Kirk appeared to take a great deal of satisfaction in finally ordering the torpedo to be fired, to which Commander Chekov immediately responded and the torpedo was away. The sound of the tracking device was audible to the crew of the Bird-of-Prey as they stood in disbelief; undoubtedly the power required to fire weapons and remain cloaked was too much to have their shields raised, and their only other option perhaps an attempt to decloak and raise shields. Chang made no effort to stop the blast, instead asking one last time, "To be, or not to be?"Through tracking the impulse signature, the torpedo struck the Bird-of-Prey, temporarily making it visible, and killing Chang and the bridge crew. I know this scene is already up on YouTube but I try to upload the best in audio/video quality…The title of this video kind of speaks for itself. But hey why not give a synopsis: After the events of ST II: WOK, The battered Enterprise rests waiting to be decommissioned. After meeting Spock’s father, Kirk learns that Spock transferred his Katra into McCoy before he sacrificed himself to save the Enterprise. Kirk and company steal the USS Enterprise in order to reach Genesis to recover Spock and restore his Katra.Meanwhile the Excelsior with the prototype transwarp drive is ordered to stop the Enterprise. Will the gallant crew succeed in Phase I of bringing Spock back to life? This scene really shows off the wonders of practical effects; using models, green screen, camera work, blending different methods, etc. making it all look as real as possible when compared to CGI. This was when ILM was at its BEST. I'm currently working on a series of videos showcasing iconic vehicles, ships, fighters, and scenes from the 'Golden Days of ILM and Special F/X’. Where handcrafted models, creative camera work, getting creative.. or even having full sized props were made for movies. A lot of you know that practical effects when done right still look awesome as shown in the Battle of Endor video. In contrast to today where everything is CGI and there isn’t much charm to it. Don’t get me wrong CGI can be useful for a lot of things. But movies of today is just all CGI. The upcoming videos will have clips gathered from Star Wars, Star Trek, Various Sci-Fi, Batman and action movies. The videos will have specifications, details, and backstories to them. I’m doing the series in a way to showcase practical effects, tell the specs and story of vehicles, while showing iconic scenes, in an attempt to make them fall under the ‘Teaching / Educate’ part of Fair Use.Sorry for not uploading more; I’ve had a lot going on.
