Sorry for the long gutting vid, this can only be partially gutted and the core doesn't come out unless you destroy the lock.

Downundermonkey 2022-08-20 | Here is a mystery lock. It appears to be a Goal Z but with different internals. Maybe some variant unknown at this stage. It does have mastering in 6 out of 7 Chambers but I was able to pick it and leave all the master pins in the core.

Downundermonkey 2022-08-03 | This is a nice lock with 2 banks of sliders and a row of pins in the top as well. The left bank has 4 sliders that interact with a sidebar. The right bank has 4 sliders that interact directly with the core. Then there are 3 pins at the top of the keyway. Sadly non of these have and security features except for possible overset trap on the driver pins up top.

It has 8 pins with no springs, dual sidebar and a futuristic looking key. while it's not the most difficult thing to pick, it is a bit tricky to navigate the true and false gates and a huge spooled overset trap on every pin.

Downundermonkey 2021-09-30 | This is my first pick of a fully populated ASSA twin 6k. After a while learning to pick progressively, I actually didn't expect to get it open so the commentary isn't great.

These are fantastic locks to pick with the formidable ASSA barrels, counter milled core, serrated sidebar pins and tight tolerances. All these measures combined make it very difficult to get into, hence the ranking of Black Belt on the Lock Pickers United and Reddit belt ranking system.

A huge thanks to Feral Shooter for helping me obtain this lock and for the constant support and tips. Cheers buddy. Also thanks to HV Logic for his tips too and all the others that kept up the motivation to get through it.

Downundermonkey 2021-02-21 | In this video I pick the Kwikset Smart Key Gen 3 lock. I had to fashion a sidebar shim out of an old feeler gauge. As it is a reverse sidebar, it needs this shim in place while picking as it doesn't bind under tension like a conventional sidebar.

Downundermonkey 2021-01-18 | In this video I pick and gut the beautiful Carbine CDEP dual entry padlock. This is not a dual custody padlock, rather for purposes that require multiple services accessing an area with their own designated lock barrels.

Both barrels turn counter clockwise which is certainly different from most other padlocks.

Downundermonkey 2020-10-27 | As per the rules, I made a bump key and demonstrated it use. I find it helped a lot more having the bumping ring on the key to make it semiautomatic.

Also, week 8 will require the construction of a set of covert entry tools. Mostly just a rake and a tension wrench but covert or concealable. One you could stash or carry without suspicion. Don't start this challenge yet but you may want to have a rummage around for things to make them out of.

Downundermonkey 2020-10-17 | This week I made a cutaway lock with 4 different modifications plus some unnecessary artwork on the side. It was super clean until I widened the slots on one side for a better view of the pins and had a rough time. All in all it turned out ok.

(104) #MadAussieChallenge Week 6 rules plus a bonus round to think about.

Downundermonkey 2020-10-15 | Welcome to week 6 of the #MadAussieChallenege. This time we are making a functional cutaway lock. Why pay upwards of $100 for one when you can make your own for a few bucks and some time in the shed.
There are multiple techniques for cutaways, links will be left below to some examples, bonus entries may be on offer if you use more than one technique. Normal hand tools only (files, hacksaw, drill etc.) no CNC machining. This is week 6 so 6x entries for a completion and 2x entries for a fail video. Take care when making your incisions as you can't add material back after it's gone. Measure twice, cut once.

Contact Alex with your ideas over the next 2-3 weeks to run them by him. Once confirmed, make a short video outlining your idea. First in gets the credit for the idea.
