Theme Park POV 2024-10-17 | Twisted Colossus is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park in Santa Clarita, California. Originally designed and built by International Amusement Devices, the roller coaster opened as Colossus, a dual-tracked roller coaster, on June 29, 1978. It was the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in the world and the first with two drops greater than 100 feet (30 m). Colossus became well known after appearances in film and television, including the box-office hit National Lampoon's Vacation and the made-for-TV movie Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park.

After more than 36 years in operation, Six Flags announced that Colossus would be closed permanently on August 16, 2014. Within two weeks of its closure, Six Flags announced that the roller coaster would reemerge in 2015 as a steel-tracked roller coaster named Twisted Colossus. It was renovated by Rocky Mountain Construction to feature barrel roll inversions, and a near-vertical drop. Twisted Colossus opened on May 23, 2015.

Theme Park POV 2024-10-11 | Time Traveler is a steel spinning roller coaster located at the Silver Dollar City theme park in Branson, Missouri, United States. Manufactured by Mack Rides, the ride was done in collaboration with the park becoming the first new roller coaster added since Outlaw Run opened in 2013. Time Traveler features the fictional story of clockmaker Charles Henry and his daughter spotlighting human achievements through time travel. The ride reaches a height of 100 feet (30 m) with a maximum speed of 50.3 miles per hour (81.0 km/h) and a total track length of 3,020 feet (920 m).

Upon opening, the ride became the fastest and tallest complete circuit spinning roller coaster, the first to feature three inversions, and the first model of "X-treme Spinning Coaster's" produced by Mack Rides. In 2018, the roller coaster was listed by Amusement Today's annual Golden Ticket Awards as the year's second-best new steel roller coaster and was the 18th best-steel roller coaster.

2024 Powder Keg Roller Coaster On Ride 4K POV Silver Dollar City

Theme Park POV 2024-09-16 | Powder Keg: A Blast Into The Wilderness (commonly referred to as Powder Keg) is a steel launched roller coaster located at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. Manufactured by S&S – Sansei Technologies and installed by Ride Entertainment Group,[1] the ride opened to the public in 2005. Powder Keg has the second longest track length for an attraction at Silver Dollar City, only behind the Frisco Silver Dollar Line.

To save on construction costs, elements of the former Buzzsaw Falls Water Coaster, which was manufactured by Premier Rides[2] and was replaced by Powder Keg, were used for the new ride; namely the lift hill structure. Other tributes to the former ride can be found in the thematic elements surrounding the queue line, such as an old Buzzsaw Falls car stuck in the roof of the first queue building, and a piece of old Buzzsaw track sticking out of the queue building's roof.

2024 The Beast Roller Coaster On Ride Front Seat 4K POV Kings Island

Theme Park POV 2024-09-08 | The Beast is a wooden roller coaster located at Kings Island amusement park in Mason, Ohio. Designed and manufactured in-house at a cost of $3.2 million, the ride opened in 1979 as the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster in the world. Decades later, The Beast is still the longest at 7,359 feet (2,243 m), spanning more than 35 acres (14 ha) and utilizing the surrounding terrain for many of its elements. Two lift hills contribute to the ride's duration of more than four minutes, which also ranks as one of the longest among roller coasters.

Following the 2021 season, approximately 2,000 feet (610 m) of track on The Beast was refurbished by The Gravity Group. Two of the ride's signature elements were reprofiled to provide a smoother ride. The first drop was increased from 45 to 53 degrees, affecting the transition from the first tunnel into the second drop, and the helix finale was modified to improve the distribution of force. 1,090 feet (330 m) was completely re-tracked, and the overall length of the ride was slightly increased by 2 feet (0.61 m) to 7,361 feet (2,244 m)

Theme Park POV 2024-09-05 | Twisted Colossus is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park in Santa Clarita, California. Originally designed and built by International Amusement Devices, the roller coaster opened as Colossus, a dual-tracked roller coaster, on June 29, 1978. It was the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in the world and the first with two drops greater than 100 feet (30 m). Colossus became well known after appearances in film and television, including the box-office hit National Lampoon's Vacation and the made-for-TV movie Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park.

After more than 36 years in operation, Six Flags announced that Colossus would be closed permanently on August 16, 2014. Within two weeks of its closure, Six Flags announced that the roller coaster would reemerge in 2015 as a steel-tracked roller coaster named Twisted Colossus. It was renovated by Rocky Mountain Construction to feature barrel roll inversions, and a near-vertical drop. Twisted Colossus opened on May 23, 2015.

2024 Rougarou Roller Coaster On Ride Front Row 4K POV Cedar Point

Theme Park POV 2024-09-02 | Rougarou, formerly known as Mantis, is a floorless roller coaster located at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio. Designed and built by Bolliger & Mabillard, the roller coaster originally opened in 1996 as a stand-up roller coaster called Mantis, which at the time was the tallest, fastest, and longest of its kind in the world.

In September 2014, Cedar Point announced the pending closure of Mantis, scheduled for the following month. The park later revealed that Mantis would not be removed but would be transformed into a floorless roller coaster design for the 2015 season. It reopened as Rougarou on May 9, 2015.

Vortex last operated as a stand-up coaster on September 5, 2016, and it reopened as Patriot on April 1, 2017.[3][4][5] The ride was converted to a sit-down configuration featuring new floorless trains and a new color scheme.
