But we kinda felt that even if this piece was arranged for two pianos, the cover might be still bland. SO, we were wondering if we could implement a classical piece into the song. After some experimentation, I figured that Canon in D would fit perfectly, and wow, it sure did. Add my transition from Hikaru Nara to Canon, Ishter's ethereal transition from Canon to Hikaru Nara, and dun dun dun, we have a keeper! Seriously, the synergy for the Canon insert makes me smile every time :^)Quite a few of you might be curious to how production went about, because long distant projects like these are very tricky, especially when everything is played by ear. This is pretty much what happened. 1. We drafted a leadsheet to establish chords2. Think about which piece to insert 3. insert discovered insert piece somewhere...4. Establish who is playing the melody and harmony for each section5. Arrange for several weeks.6. Ishy records everything and sends me his harmonies and melodies in sections.7. I listen and play along to the harmony and melodies.8. Rearrange to match.9. Practice.10. Record section by section (with specified camera angles) with headphones on, to ensure decent sync11. Send everything over for Ishy-sama to edit, render, and upload.Though a long process, we've been actually planning and working since November, so doing everything wasn't too stressful. ^^ As my first collaboration, I definitely had a BLAST doing its; this is actually on of my uploads in which I had the most fun (because I was doing it with senpai :3). I'll definitely will be excited to do more collaborations in the future hehehehe.Even though it isn't perfect, I hope you guys enjoy this collaboration. Here is my arrangement of F/SN's OP ideal white. I wasn't really a fan of the singer/song at first. I mean in terms of vocals, i felt the singer's voice was a bit too strong for my taste. Especially when she slides her voice at the end of certain notes, I cringe a bit. And the song... it does a key change at the chorus (which is only played once btw). I felt it was too sudden, underdeveloped (like a high schooler's confession). Criticisms aside, the OP song actually stuck to me. I started to enjoy it; hence, I made this cover. I added a repeat of the chorus (with some variations) to make sure that the key change wasn't in vain XD. Hope you guys enjoy this arrangement/performance! :)Also, I got the iPhone 6plus, and used the camera to film the hand shots/time lapse at the beginning. It's surprisingly better than my 2 year old Sony camcorder I've been using (the camcorder I've been using since I started the channel). I'm using both cameras to film the 2 different angles. Ling, who is based in China, approached me via pm on my Facebook page and basically introduced herself as one of my "admirers," and transcribed my Body Motion arrangement (going to edit all the errors and release it. Like my FB page to stay updated). I was extremely flattered and impressed with her skill of transcribing and asked if she would like to help me in the arranging process by transcribing lead sheets for me--sheets which only have the basic melody and chords. Truth be told, I apparently only have perfect pitch for instruments, and not vocals. For some reason, I just can't seem to identify the pitch for vocals. So up until now, I have been referencing other Anime Pianists' (and other instrumentalists) sheets and videos (EgoistHiuman, Tehishter, Animenz), and had to derive the main melody from there. Now with Ling's help, I have been able to quickly arrange off of her leadsheet and release my own cover within 2 weeks since SAO aired. That's a RECORD FOR ME. I usually take a month without a leadsheet. From now on, I'll be working along with Ling to bring you guys more and more anime piano covers, and hopefully, with sheets! Even though, I hadn't watched Clannad, I remember tearing up a bit, and I felt as if something was shredding my heart apart ;____; [also shout out to Baddydan89 for also having a super duper awesome performance of this piece ^^]And after finally watching Clannad in the summer of 2013, I realized that Jun Maeda did an excellent job composing this piece, because he really captures all the emotions portrayed in the anime.Because of the sentimental aspects of this piece, and inspiration from Joanna, Ishter, and Baddydan, I really wanted to put all of my heart into this song to be able to recreate the feelz from Clannad. Because recording on a concert grand is much longer and is therefore harder to mic with my Zoom H4n, I decided to add in my old Yamaha PocketTrak C24 to enhance the thickness of the sound. My only complaint about my recording is that my mics capture a really metallic sound. Probably because of the mic limitations (perhaps also because it is a Japanese piano). Sometime in the future, i hope to purchase some Cascade Fathead mics to capture the room ambiance and to hopefully get a more pure sound. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy! Piano progress has been slow recently since school started :( But rest assured, I'll try my best to release as many videos as I can! Body Motion is probably my favorite track because of the intense percussion with the full orchestra. It really feels like a song from an epic movie. Pretty impressive for an anime soundtrack. Sadly, I couldn't exactly reproduce all the crazy percussion sounds because1. I'm not that good yet.2. It's hard to do on piano.3. I'm lazy. :PSo to compensate for my shortcomings, I decided to include some "original" parts (an arrangement style inspired by Animenz). In the introduction and in the end, I tried to mimic Rachmoninoff's Prelude in C# (I've been learning this Prelude for piano lessons). It really fits in with Attack on Titan because the chord progression really gives a deep and foreboding sensation--as if a colossal Titan was approaching. In addition, I included a small passage from the Sword Art Online main theme. To be specific, I used the part when the choir is singing "Coffee...Soda...Toffee...Pasta...Coffee...Soda...Give me coffee..." (credits to Gigguk for the "lyrics"). I did this because, I felt Body Motion was lacking some other themes. As a result I included this SAO main theme passage. As usual, my playing isn't perfect, but I am very satisfied with my arrangement. Hopefully, I will be able to make more :DComment about the Anime:IT'S FRIGGEN EPIC. LAWL========================================================Hello guys ^.^Here it is. This is the project I've been practicing for a very long time, Bios. TA DA!Oh wow, this is probably the hardest piece I have ever played in my life. It has nasty octave jumps and mega arpeggios. It was so hard that I actually brought this to piano lessons for a few weeks, and my teacher helped me interpret it. I basically just focused on making the melodies prominent and giving it a lot of dynamic contrast. My playing isn't perfect, and some parts seem messy, but I hope you guys enjoy this cover! :)I would like to thank Animenz for transcribing this piece. His transcription is definitely superb. Keep up the great work bro. What about some history about this piece? This piano arrangement actually means a lot to me. Why? Because it is the very first Animenz video I watched. Oh yes. I remember this encounter very clearly. It was last year when I was obsessing over Guilty Crown (yes even though it has its flaws, I LOVE THIS ANIME). And so, I decided to type in the Youtube search "Guilty Crown piano." And voila, I found Animenz's "Bios." When I saw the amount of skill Animenz had, I was completely awestruck. I remember thinking "I will NEVER be able to play this. If I do, I would be a friggen piano BEAST." From that day, I practiced hard to become that "piano BEAST." If it weren't for Animenz's Bios as my "ultimate" goal, I would have never tried to practice harder, and would have been content with my former self. And so. one year later, I accomplished my "ultimate: goal. Even though, at the time, I felt that playing this piece would make me a "beast," I have come to realize that this is not the end of the vast potential that God has given me. I have much more to improve and become EVEN better than I am now. Since I still want to be better, I decided to take up transcribing for the upcoming Summer season. I have all of the software and creativity I would need. SO GET READY FOR SUMMER GUYS! THANKS AGAIN u guys. True bros to the heart ;_;Why "Sakura Hall"?very interesting question actually. Well while I was in the middle of composing, the anime, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, was airing. And as I was composing, I had a hard time developing new parts. Since my mind synthesizes things automatically, I was constantly thinking about Sakurasou. In the anime, things start off to be carefree and pretty spunky, but as time progressed the Drama kicked in. All the characters were pretty depressed. But in the end, everything was okay. Long story short, I tried to mirror the emotions/ plot of Sakurasou into my composition. AND BOOM!
