The fluid mechanics rework simplifies the system to take away all the weird and unintuitve bits that plague the current system in 1.0. Sure, it may take out realism too, but I don't believe the current mechanics are all that realistic anyway, and this new system just makes so much more sense and should help with game performance and UPS too. Factorio 2.0 Simulation Round 2, Using New Mods (Multiplayer) - EP3 Xterminator 2024-05-10 | There have been some new mods made to simulate the Electromagnetic Plant and the Foundry that will be coming in the Factorio 2.0 Expansion. They are a bit Janky, but they're good enough to warrant doing a restart of the 2.0 Sim with ColonelWill. Will and his team have done a lot of redesigning for the late game megabase to make it more efficient, and of course use the new EM Plant and Foundry. We already start using them in the mid game and it makes a huge difference!We have done something like this many years ago with a simulation let's play of the 0.15 update before that came out. Doing this is a fun throwback to those times and even more exciting as the features for the Factorio expansion are massive! Not everything can be simulated with mods unfortunately, but one of the biggest new additions, Quality items does have a mod that will be used extensively in the playthrough. Factorio 2.0 Simulation Round 2, Using New Mods (Multiplayer) - EP1 Xterminator 2024-04-29 | There have been some new mods made to simulate the Electromagnetic Plant and the Foundry that will be coming in the Factorio 2.0 Expansion. They are a bit Janky, but they're good enough to warrant doing a restart of the 2.0 Sim with ColonelWill. Will and his team have done a lot of redesigning for the late game megabase to make it more efficient, and of course use the new EM Plant and Foundry. We already start using them in the mid game and it makes a huge difference!We have done something like this many years ago with a simulation let's play of the 0.15 update before that came out. Doing this is a fun throwback to those times and even more exciting as the features for the Factorio expansion are massive! Not everything can be simulated with mods unfortunately, but one of the biggest new additions, Quality items does have a mod that will be used extensively in the playthrough. Factorio 2.0 Simulation Playthrough Using Mods (Multiplayer) - EP13 Xterminator 2024-03-31 | The anticipation for Factorio 2.0 release with all its new content and features is just too much! So I decided to join in on a 2.0 simulation playthrough that long time player ColonelWill and his crew are doing. The goal is a 50k SPM Gigabase by using Quality, massive trains and many types of builds I've not played with before.We have done something like this many years ago with a simulation let's play of the 0.15 update before that came out. Factorio Friday Facts #402: Wireless Circuits & Moar Craft Speed! - FFF Discussion & Analysis Xterminator 2024-03-15 | A long requested feature in Factorio is finally being added in the 2.0 expansion coming this summer! Wireless circuit transmission via radars! As well as some other circuit wire QoL changes, and now unlimited craft speed on machines! Previously limited to 1 craft per tick (that's 60 a second btw), Rseding has gotten his hands on it and made it uncapped. Global Search, Pins, & New Alerts System! | Factorio DLC Expansion | FFF #400 Discussion Xterminator 2024-03-01 | This week's Factorio Friday Facts brings us some great Quality of Life (QoL) features for the 2.0 expansion. The ability to search globally on the map for items, to find where they're made, being able to pin those items or other locations (like your car you can never find) to get an arrow guiding you in the correct direction. NEW PLANET, With Storms! | Factorio DLC Expansion | FFF #398 Discussion Xterminator 2024-02-16 | Another new planet is revealed today for the Factorio DLC expansion! We take a look at Fulgora, a polluted desolate looking place with dangerous lightning storms and remains of an abandoned civilization! I suspect this is where the recycler machine will be unlocked and possibly some new form of power generation.
