He is a working dog,delivering mail and important messages from the post office on Market Street, to the men working in the mine shaft where the roller coaster Ghost Rider is now located. The miners are kind to Dorsey, giving him scraps of bacon and chicken from the metal pans they also use to collect their gold. Dorsey gives an occasional yelp of gratitude and a wag of his tail. Life is good.Then one day, the good life went away and in it's place a witches curse wasbestowed, turning all humans and animals into the hideous creatures you now see. And when the curse finally infected the Calico Township, Dorsey the once hard-working shepherd, became Spike the Werewolf. In the cobwebs of his dreams, he hears the faint echo of what an old gypsyonce told him: "...only an innocent can save you."

That job turned into a lifetime entertainment career.He started out working in the "Pan For Gold". He worked there for a little over a year then approached Knott's with an idea to develop a stunt show consisting of gunfights in the streets of Ghost Town.He worked as a stuntman, developing the shows for 5 years before in to a management position. Gary eventually became the entertainment director for Knott's and was responsible for hiring Elvira to host a show in the Good Time Theater for the Halloween Haunt.

Season of Screams Knotts Berry Farm History Hollow Studios 2020-08-27 | The Knott's Berry Farm amusement park in Orange County, California, originated from a berry farm owned by Walter Knott (1889–1981). In the 1920s, Knott and his wife, Cordelia, sold berries, berry preserves and pies from a roadside stand beside State Route 39, near the small town of Buena Park.In 1934, to make ends meet, Knott's wife Cordelia (1890–1974) reluctantly began serving fried chicken dinners on their wedding china. For dessert, Knott's signature Boysenberry Pie was also served to guests dining in the small tea room. As Southern California developed, Highway 39 became the major north-south connection between Los Angeles County and the beaches of Orange County, and the restaurant's location was a popular stopping point for drivers making the two-hour trip in those days before freeways. Great location and good value were the restaurant's conditions of success which attracted long lines of diners.
