Joy Again is a lo-fi recording project initially started by Sachi DiSerafino and Arthur Shea, from Philadelphia, turned full band with the addition of Sean Henry, Blaise O’Brien and Logan Burke.

Joy Again recorded their debut AA single ‘Looking Out for You / How You Feel’ in the Red Bull Studios in New York with producer Caleb Laven this summer. The 7” Vinyl is limited to 300 copies and is set for release on Lucky Number/Mermaid Avenue on 15th January 2016.

Larry "Ratso" Sloman, after an impressive over forty year career as a writer, released his debut album Stubborn Heart in 2019, which featured a collaboration with his close friend Nick Cave, whose song with his band The Bad Seeds, "Skeleton Tree", Ratso was compelled to cover. Ratso says that "'Skeleton Tree' is a brilliant first attempt at coming to terms with the death of a son by his father, and I knew I had to incorporate the song into my set as some small gesture of love. We subsequently worked it up in the studio and I hope that my version does justice to Arthur Cave’s indomitable spirit."

Ratso - Stubborn Heart (2019) [Official Full Album Stream]

Lucky Number 2020-10-23 | For the last forty-four years Larry “Ratso” Sloman has forged an impressive career as a writer. Writing features on the likes of Lou Reed, George Harrison and Leonard Cohen for Rolling Stone, Sloman was also personally invited by Bob Dylan to join his ‘Rolling Thunder Revue’ as the tour’s official scribe – leading to his first book ‘On The Road With Bob Dylan’, and being given the moniker of “Ratso” by Joan Baez for his dishevelled appearance. He has also collaborated with the likes of Howard Stern, Anthony Kiedis and David Blaine on their best-selling memoirs, has being personally asked by Leonard Cohen to preface ‘On Tour with Leonard Cohen’, as well as making a cameo in the Safdie Brothers movie Uncut Gems.

Now in his 70s, his debut album Stubborn Heart was released in 2019. Produced by his close friend Vin Cacchione (of Soft Black and Caged Animals) in Bushwick, Brooklyn, ‘Stubborn Heart’ blends a classic songwriting approach with a contemporary sophistication. The album features Ratso singing on eight originals (including songs that were co-written with John Cale) and what he describes as an “audacious” Bob Dylan cover, along with the generous talents of his friends Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Sharon Robinson (Leonard Cohen’s co-writer, producer and back-up singer), Yasmine Hamdan, Imani Coppolla and more.
