It serves mainly as a reference for the general flow, but also as a means to identify simple improvements, such as when to self-destruct to return to base points or whether farming other items may be worthwhile. I learned a number of things mid-playthrough, so the back half is especially sloppy, but still workable. Most significantly, I'll probably go back to farming Hot Head to take out Dragon and a portion of the later bosses, as they get a stat boost I was unaware of. Exactly where to stop in the various level farming is also still a big question mark. Either way, I expect the final time for this run might be in the neighborhood of 2 hours once proper analysis is given to the pain points.
The extra patterns and numbers on-screen are from a script I created to gain further insight and planning. Most valuable is the current move counter (upper right, one type of RNG), and the item toss predictions. I have setups for most boss encounters for just about any throw position, but a few specific ones I may need to go for broke or tune the move counter to an appropriate value to proceed. The high-level description of what's happening: a special flag is set on-and-off while the water bomb is descending from the window. If you get lucky and connect with the boss hitbox when that flag is set, they are instantly KO'd. This replay was completed with the assistance of save states, but was performed by hand at full speed and is meant to illustrate what a good Uncorrupted Hard run might look like. It is far from perfect - both better luck and execution could save an additional 30-60 seconds. This was only the work of one night's effort, after all. But it does demonstrate that the active Game Ventures Bounty (http://vent.rs/G6W0) is more than possible, and provides an example route to follow.
I won't be doing any attempts of this category for at least a while, if at all. But I wanted to offer my insights and route in case anybody else feels up to trying it out. Generally clean play, but a bad spider clip setup and no lucky crate on the last stage. This stage is a huge pain and very subtle differences in timing can ruin the spawn order and timing, which has cascading losses throughout the rest of the stage. Even if some parts look sloppy, this is (almost) the fastest I have ever been able to pull this off, and the path is even somewhat repeatable. -The trigger to advance to the next story scene is getting knocked down at 0 HP -There's a special circumstance for parts of this fight that make it so you can't be KO'd, even at 0 HP -Straight Punch's stance has super armor to every attack, and can't be knocked down to start the next scene -Combining all of the above, with careful play you can defeat Ethelwill the first time so long as you don't get hit while not in the stance
Too risky to use in speedruns, at least for now, and is actually slower in Hell compared to watching through the cutscenes and following fights normally. This demonstration is in Hard just to speed up the fight a bit; the damage reduction in Hell almost doubles the amount of time it takes.

The magic actually saves time by lag alone, and then the comet saves another second on top of it. The window is wide, but the cues aren't great, and it is somewhat dependent on positioning. Unsure if I will incorporate into runs.Skyblazer Speedrun new strats - round 3Omnigamer2019-12-09 | Some more refined strats that give me a lot more consistency and flexibility. The new Sands strat works well, and combined with the Fortress manip, gets about a net gain of 4 seconds. The Tower new stuff may be up to 5 seconds, and the better usage in Ice saves another second over the previous iteration.New Skyblazer Speedrun Strats Rd 2Omnigamer2019-12-04 | Even newer strats for Sands and Bridge... they work in conjunction with each other. However, due to the extra overworld movement penalty to play in this order, it only saves ~40 frames over doing it the old way. And for a 3-frame manip, followed by a 2-frame manip... doesn't quite seem worth it.
The Sands strat can be attempted in normal play, though, and could be used to skip the Fortress magic check instead, potentially saving up to an additional second.
