Alice and the Giant Bookshelf
Agatha Christie Shelf Tour | Celebrating Christies Birthday! #booktube #agathachristie
updated
Today’s video is a mixture of book haul and library book haul. I filmed this two weeks ago, and I've unfortunately not been well for the past week which has stopped me from editing it until now. I don't know how soon there will be more videos, I have one book review that needs editing but after that I will need to film more so I'm hoping I can get back to that soon. Thanks for sticking around and supporting my channel in the meantime.
As a disclaimer to this video, I have been sent more books since as gifts and I've not managed to get much read at all over the past week so these all remain unread.
Thanks for watching, i'd love to hear from you in the comments, have you bought any books recently, or got anything exciting from the library? If you've read any of these, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Big thanks to @ReadBecca for recommending me a book in her recent video, you can check that out here: youtu.be/oYwbu5sxiM0?si=UxNBbKp8pWwU22nl - I can't wait to read the book I was recommended.
Thanks to @BloomsburyPublishing for the proof copy of Briefly Very Beautiful.
The Women’s Prize Plodalong is hosted by Me, @GemofBooks and @CharlieBrookReads
Next live show: Sunday 9th June 4pm BST.

I also have 7 reasons for you why I love TBRs and will continue to make them.

Today I wanted to talk about 5 crime fiction or thriller series of books I really want to get on and finish. I've been reading some of these for a long time andd the end is in sight (sort of). I was inspired to make this by finishing a crime fiction series recently.
Let me know in the comments- what is your favourite series that you have read or are reading? Are there any series you want to finish soon? If you have any recommendations for me, I'd love to hear them too. Thanks for watching.

Today I'm going to be reviewing one of the books I was most looking forward to in 2024: Everyone on this Train is A Suspect by Benjamin Stevenson. This is a second book about the character Ernest Cunningham who first appeared in Everyone in my Family Has Killed Someone which I received from my Crime Syndicate Subscription last year from @mrbsemporiumofreadingdelig4109.
Is a sequel ever better than the first book? Find out what I thought in my review. Everyone on this Train is A Suspect is a tongue-in-cheek murder mystery set in Australia on the Ghan train during a crime writers' festival.
I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Today’s video is a review of Western Lane by Chetna Maroo, which is longlisted for this year's Women's Prize for Fiction.
For some reason the final minute of the video has completely different sound to the rest of the review. I have no idea why, I hadn't changed anything while filming so just a mysterious technical issue. Apologies.

Would I have liked this in a different format? Did I enjoy my first Ann Patchett? aAnd why isn't this listed for the Women's Prize?
Thanks for watching. I'd love to hear from you in the comments if you've read this or would like to. Please recommend me your favourite Ann Patchett books or let me know what you thought of this one.

Apologies for getting Cat Bohannon's name wrong in the video, and for adding a 'the' to the title of Grief is for People.
The actual longlist will be announced on 15th February by @Womens_Prize.
For the second year running I am cohosting the Women's Prize Plodalong with @GemofBooks and @CharlieBrookReads #wpplodalong which will run alongside the whole of the Women's Prize season- this is an unofficial readalong of the prizes. We will be hosting live shows to talk about the books, hopefully with some special booktuber guests.
Our opening show is the day after the announcement of the Non-fiction longlist and will be a discussion of our reaction to the list. Join us for this on 16th February at 8pm on @GemofBooks channel.
Thanks for watching. I'd love to hear from you - have you read any of these books? Or have you read any brilliant non-fiction books you think will be on the list?

Today I'm reviewing A Bitter Remedy by Alis Hawkins, a mystery set in Victorian Oxford that I received from The Crime Syndicate book club subscription from @mrbsemporiumofreadingdelig4109.
This subscription was a Christmas present from my Mum and means I received one new crime fiction book every month in 2023.
You can find out more about the reading club here on Mr B's Emporium website: mrbsemporium.com/gifts/#reading-club - I'm in no way sponsored by Mr B's, I just enjoy receiving this present bought by my mum.
