Skitzo cartoons were all destroyed in the 1920s because people who watched a full episode would become mentally insane and murder people. Now all we can find are the scraps recovered by animation historians...but should we really be uncovering these things???. Skitzo - Sky High Dive C0MICK 2023-03-15 | A newly discovered lost Skitzo cartoon "Sky High Dive" was released in 1919 when news of the first individual ripcord parachute began to appear. Old records indicate that copies of the cartoon played in various theaters in Chicago, IL (the windy city!)The effects of the cartoon were devastating, and viewers who saw this cartoon in its whole state would complain of constant heart jumps and uncontrollable screaming. The final stages would drive the viewer mad and go careening off buildings and freefall to their doom. It's not known what the true death count was, but it's estimated at least 45 people may have fallen victim to this film before the screenings stopped. All copies were hastily burnt.Animation historians discovered this remnant in a tin box wedged between the old building bricks of an abandoned theater in Chicago, set for demolition. Skitzo - Wild West C0MICK 2020-10-31 | The lost Skitzo cartoon "Wild West" was released in 1914 during the rise of the popularity of “Westerns” in silent films. Newspapers record the cartoon was played in theaters around Texas and freshly created Arizona (which had just become a state in 1912). The desire for cooler fanned locations, like movie theaters in these states, made the deadly cartoon’s exposure rate very high as people tended to wander in and watch “Wild West” seeking reprieve from the hot weather.However only hours after watching the cartoon did people start complaining about dry mouth, excessive sweating, and mild burns on the face and arms. Not much is known about the final stages, but it must have been painful as the bodies of viewers were later found in their home as charred burnt remains stuck in a screaming position and some of them found with long hot iron pokers in their chests. “Wild West” was quickly gathered, and all copies were burnt within a week of their showing. The populace claiming it was “a Gateway from Hell”. It was a stroke of luck that historians were able to find a tiny remnant of this Skitzo short. Found several miles outside Dallas in an old, abandoned pueblo. The locals claimed the pueblo harbored evil spirits and that no plants or trees would grow in the soil about it. It was later discovered the reel was found in a wooden box buried under the pueblo, settled next to an unmarked grave. The dried up corpse held a note in its hands that said, “The cries of the damned lie within this box, do not open it, and pray that it fades away with me”. This is the film remnant that was pulled from the box. Skitzo - Ship Ahoy! C0MICK 2019-10-31 | Animation historians have discovered a new lost Skitzo short! The Skitzo cartoon "Ship Ahoy!" was released to a number of US theaters in 1921. It played for about 2 weeks before getting pulled off the projectors, as the deadly effects took a much longer time to be discovered. People who watched the cartoon and read "Your next breath will be your last" didn't show any effects until about 6 days after viewing...when they started to complain of heavy gut pains and bloating from an intake of water retention. The victims would slowly swell until becoming bed ridden and water would come draining out their belly buttons and nose...literally drowning from the salt water in their bodies. As a result the high death count seemed to come from this particular short as the effects were delayed and the warning that they would die was not as apparent to viewers. All known full versions of this short were burned shortly after.It's also notable that "Ship Ahoy" featured the one and only appearance of Buccaneer Bill, a pirate with a love of clean wood flooring and slapstick antics. We are not sure why the character did not come into play in later episodes....This rare short piece of the film was discovered under the floor boards of an abandoned Pig Slaughterhouse factory that shut down in the 1940's. The tin canister holding the film had been coated with rust and dried pig blood that no doubt dripped though the wood boards for 20+years when the slaughterhouse was in operation. But amazingly, the blood and rust sealed the film canister shut from air exposure saving this tiny bit of cartoon for animation historians to discover once more and show today. Skitzo- Wooly Woods C0MICK 2018-01-08 | After much searching, a newly discovered scrap of Skitzo the 1920’s Killer Bear has been found! Dating sometime around 1924, animation historians have found little info on this short's full run time. It seems to have barely played in a few random theaters in Colorado near the Rocky Mountains. Once again, all known full versions of this short were burned once their contents were discovered to have deadly results to viewers.Despite that, this scrap of the rare “Wooly Woods” short had a mostly intact phonograph cylinder and strange whisperings can be heard under the score when played. It was reported that audience viewers who watched a complete version of "Wooly Woods" would cut holes in their throats and then proceed to lodge rocks and nuts into their necks until they choked to death.This tiny scrap from "Wooly Woods" was discovered in Colorado. Sadly, the film scrap seems to have been vandalized by writings scrapped into the nitrate itself and whoever had it before decided to abandon it in the woods. Sealed deep in a cave, some rock climbers found it buried under a pile of human and animal bones and possibly left there to decay. Birthday Wishes from Sin - VA Richard Garner C0MICK 2017-07-09 | So my birthday was this week and I got a surprise birthday gift from the voice of SIN- "RLFHOG3"!! Richard Garner is the voice actor of Sin in all my In The Dark cartoons. Granted the only animation of Sin's voice is in the main cartoon ep 1 and in special animated clips made for my Patreon. So to get a completely raw piece of Sin literally wishing me a happy birthday...well I HAD to use it and animate it. Skitzo- Circus Sillies C0MICK 2017-05-02 | The animation historians have done it again and uncovered a lost Skitzo the Bear cartoon scrap! This one dates from circa 1922 and played in theaters for 1-2 weeks before all know copies were collected and burned.Archives mention that audience viewers who watched a complete version of "Circus Sillies" had missing eyes and burst stomachs. Morgue records describe it as hemorrhages to their guts from uncontrollable laughter, vomiting blood, and screaming.This tiny scrap from "Circus Sillies" was discovered in the mummified remains of a clown performer buried in a unmarked grave in the woods of Pennsylvania . A sticky note on the reel notes: "Do not sit too long with his gaze or your soul will be marked as I was...". There is still no complete copy of a Skitzo the Bear cartoon, but this one is the longest segment discovered thus far! Skitzo- Fisherman Follies C0MICK 2016-08-25 | A recovered Skitzo cartoon scrap from 1921! This short "Fisherman Follies" was a rare oddity in the collection as it starred an unknown human simply known as "David". Historians have discovered that a year before the short's release, a morgue collected a body somewhere in the rural Nevada deserts of a man by the same name "David" who was sacrificed to a Satanic alter with the words "For Skitzo" carved on his forehead. Beyond this connection we just do not know why or how this was related to "Fisherman Follies".Again no full version of the cartoon has been found. All copies of this short was burned within a month of debut. Records claim that film audiences who saw this cartoon in its full would slit their wrists with metal can lids and swallow hooks while gargling their own blood. Luckily this tiny scrap was discovered sealed up in an abandoned fallout shelter in Nevada covered by dried out jerky meats and a chest full on money. Skitzo-The Buddy System C0MICK 2015-04-12 | The kickstarter was funded! SKITZO HAS A PLUSH TOY!inthedark.bigcartel.com----------------------------------------------------------------------A recovered scrap from 1924! This short "The Buddy System" was collected and burned within days of its debut in theaters. Accounts reported watching it in full would make viewers horribly depressed and commit suicide by jumping in front of moving subway trains. One lady had an incision cut across her abdomen so that all her organs would catch on the gears as she was dragged under. No full version of the cartoon has been found and this rare scrap was discovered inside a catacomb next to the bodies of a hundred unidentified corpses. This clip has been known to bleed in the projectors that play it and it has not been identified whose blood leaks from the old nitrate or where the screams seem to come from layered deep beyond the musical score cylinder that provides its tunes. Skitzo-The Giving Season C0MICK 2013-12-21 | A rare Skitzo short from 1924! This particular short was released to theaters during one of the worst times: Christmas season! as a result hundreds of children on winter break were exposed to the "The Giving Season" before authorities were able to gather and burn all the copies. Side effects from watching this short its its full form led them to taking sharp pieces of metal and slicing open their own throats then gargling and drowning from the blood as it filled their lungs. This tiny scrap was discovered in a masochist's house under the basement floors wrapped in glittery papers and dried bloody rags. Skitzo-Birds of a Feather C0MICK 2013-10-10 | Oh happy days, those animation historians have done it again and found another rare Skitzo the Bear film from 1921! "Birds of a Feather!" was one of the few films that actually lasted more than a few days in theaters due to the fact that the film itself would melt and fuse into the projector boxes it was played in, resulting in unstoppable loops of the animation and an inability to remove it from the sealed/melted projectors. Theater owners complained it drove their audiences into fits of mad sobbing and spontaneous bloody noses, many of them pulled out their teeth and hair from watching the complete version of this scrap. Sadly a complete copy of this short is not expected to be recovered since every copy was burned within the projectors that played them.This particular clip was salvaged in the husk of an old nickelodeon projector that had been sealed in cement inscribed "so as to never let its horrible contents be seen again". Skitzo-Too Hot To Handle C0MICK 2013-03-31 | A newly uncovered Skitzo Short! Circa 1925 this copy of "Too Hot To Handle" was discovered inside an old crematorium furnace. The ashes and dust seemed to have ruined the nitrate film a bit but it's a lucky find considering all copies of this cartoon were burned within days of their showing. The main reason being that when viewed in full form, audience members complained of boiling blood and fever. A lady in New York claimed the burning inside was so bad, she would sit in a meat freezer for hours every day, scraping her skin off and screaming in vain, "Please God I'm burning alive, please just let me cool down!!" Her corpse was later found dead in the freezer completely peeled of flesh and frozen next to the pork chops. Skitzo Short-Can Ya Spare a Dime? C0MICK 2013-01-20 | A newly discovered Skitzo The 1920's Killer Bear cartoon short from 1923! This film reel titled "Can Ya Spare a Dime" is a combination of two decayed copies which came from different sources: an old theater house attic and a mental patient's personal safebox...as a result the cartoon is probably the longest running Skitzo scrap found to exist yet! Researchers make note that 1923 newspapers reported this cartoon, when seen in its full form, had the ability to cause the viewer to pull their teeth out with pliers and jam nails straight into their heads. Skitzo the 1920s Killer Bear-Puppy Love C0MICK 2012-11-20 | All copies of this particular cartoon "Puppy Love" was believed to be burned only days after its release to theaters in 1918. And because of this, a full version has never been found. Reports from old newspapers claimed this cartoon when watched in its full form, took over the souls of its watchers and led them to mass-murder, senseless rambling, and finally suicide by ripping their genitals off and bleeding to death. But luckily, animation archeologists uncovered a tiny scrap of this lost Skitzo cartoon on a decaying nitrate film buried and hidden away in the bunker of a dead satanic worshipper in Florida. ENJOY! Chinese New Years San Francisco 2011 - firecrackers C0MICK 2011-02-20 | The end of the parade has a ceremony where they light a huge string of firecrackers in the face of the golden dragon. It was actually longer then this but I cut it down for time. Also the smoke and ash went everywhere and stung my eyes since I was so close.
