This is part of the longest flat 13 miles on the entire AT. Nature alone time is welcomed and ALWAYS needed. As the narrator with the silky voice says, it doesn't have to be Mount Everest. Breathtaking Climb to Maryland Heights via Harpers Ferry, WV RockΞastwood 2023-06-17 | Today we're in Harpers Ferry West Virginia and I crossed into 4 states in this solo hiking day trip. Started in Pennsylvania, then hit Maryland, Virginia and ultimately West Virginia. The climb up to Maryland Heights overlook cliff trail takes about 1 1/2 hours depending on your lollygagging and photo taking. After the solo day hike I walked around historical Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. I did not really go into any history. I believe it's already pretty well know -- but I figured it would be a good location to spend Juneteenth weekend.
