We Get Most Damage Murray Bridge Speedway Demo Derby 6th October 2024

Down the shed with Byron 2024-10-10 | Back down in South Australia for Murray Bridge Speedway there October 6th weekend Demo Derby.
I came over to hang out with the Derby drivers but ended up getting a car off my mate Simon so why not enter.
This is my first large car derby which was awesome only 10 car entered which isn't the best but we still put a show on for the crowd.
Straight from the start I try to make big hits and once I couldn't see out the back i just sent it straight into cars head on haha oh boy it was fun.

Demo Derby at Murray Bridge Speedway Easter 2024

Down the shed with Byron 2024-04-19 | Back down in South Australia at Murray Bridge Speedway for there Easter weekend Demo Derby.
I came over to hang out with the Derby drivers but ended up getting a car off my mate Geoff so why not enter.
With 20 ish cars it ended up being a all in derby instead of a banger race style which was awesome.
I think i was on the limiter from the word go haha about half way through i found i could reverse straight and kept getting spun around well then ill send it straight into cars head on haha oh boy it was fun.

Sorting out the Holden VR Calais over heating problems

Down the shed with Byron 2024-03-02 | The good old Holden VR Calais that ive had for 20 years has come over from Adelaide to Perth and now we have a shopping list of jobs to do on it.
One of those jobs is to sort out the cooling system thats over heating unload but cruising around town its not a drama.
I start off by having a looking over the system and checking levels.
After finding low engine oil, over filled transmission oil and low coolant we drop the temps.
Then testing the thermostat which tested ok i fitted the new radiator cap which i think fixed some of the problem after that test drive replaced the radiator which we then got a 10 deg difference between top and bottom hose.
With all these fixes ghe cooling system is running sweet now time to move on to the other jobs hope you enjoyed the video 👍

Grandpa loves his New Calais swapping us the VR for VX have we done the right thing?

Down the shed with Byron 2024-01-19 | Grandpa Swapped the VR Calais for the rebuild VX Calais and is loving it.

The Holden VX Calais we swapped the mother inlaws old Mazda 6 for has been a great project that we have made some great memories with the kids working on it and so nice to drive.
From engine swap, suspension, brakes, interior, body work this VX Calais has had some love now hopefully grandpa looks after it.

1 being the hand brake shoes are worn out and cant hold the old girl.
Now i just ordered the parts from Patrol apart which came pretty much the next week.
With some basic tools you can do this job at home.

Today Down the shed im working on the GQ Patrol sorting out a couple of things.
1 being the sway bar links are worn out, missing bolts and letting the old girl rock around.
Now i just ordered the cheapest kit of ebay to see how they go and for about $100 you cant really go wrong.
With some basic tools you can do this job at home.
Take your time measuring is very important before you cut haha.

So its about time to get this thing done with a arm length of jobs to do with some help from my daughter this week.
Testing out the stereo its sounding awesome now we got the abs light cleared which im so helping about.

AAA windows done some work for us windscreen and tint likes mint now.

The 4-cylinder Toyota Camry is still running but needs 1 or 2 things done before we get back out there.
Now with a day in the shed and some help from my daughter its good to go well we still need fuel and a charged battery.

Nissan Patrol ZD30 Tensioner and Belt Replacement

Helping a mate out with his 2015 Nissan Patrol where the belt would always squeal with the air con on.
After pulling it apart it looks like the tensioner has failed.
With a new belt and tensioner replaced its running smooth again.
Make sure to double check your parts before fitting.
