Repairing a FAULTY Nintendo 3DS Pokémon Game Card | RAW/UNEDITED VIDEO Voultar 2022-02-25 | This video is a raw, unedited segment that I originally released 5/5/21.Unbelievably, I happen to have a copy of Pokemon Omega Ruby that I purchased from eBay months ago without ever testing it. In light of all of the buzz surrounding the alleged failure of Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, I wanted to analyze, to the best of my ability the most plausible explanation for these reports. My copy of Omega Ruby wasn't working. I cleaned the cartridge and tested it thoroughly between 3 different 3DS systems to no avail. I carefully broke the cartridge down to reveal the EXTRA-ROM memory in TSOP form. By my estimation, the most plausible explanation is the solder becoming fatigued on these delicate, surface mounted components after several insertion cycles. This can result in "opens" being created across the address and data bus lines, resulting in a loss of connection between the 3DS hardware and the cartridge itself. I re-flowed the TSOP memory module, and as the video shows, the cart is back to complete operational working order, with SAVE data intact. This is of course anecdotal and just a theory. I can't definitely speak for all of the 3DS Pokemon cartridges that are in a state of failure. However, the problem in my case was quantifiable and proven. This problem is something that I documented (and how to fix it too!) in a Game Boy cartridge repair video that I did years ago.#3DS #Solder #Modding

Terrible NESRGB Installation From a Pro Modder Voultar 2017-08-29 | **LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE IF YOU ARE DOWN WITH MY WAREZ!**Follow me on Twitter: twitter.com/Voultar_Modshop-In this installment, I rework a not-so-great NESRGB installation and remove an auto switching supply regulator that's creating a visual interference as the result of poor ripple performance. You can literally see the frequency response in the video capture! I put emphasis mainly on good wiring practices and technique. There's no reason to have a rats nest of conductors that are 1 ft. longer than needed. Keep your transmission lines as short as possible, and maintain a clear line-of-sight between terminations.

We take a closer look at the XRGB Framemeister and analyze why these improperly designed cables can be potentially deadly to certain equipment. Different places have offered this cable in similar configurations. I'm only talking about cables that have a 7314 on-board. CORRECTION, at 4:58 at the Absolute Maximum table I should have underlined the line describing analog inputs (AGND -0.3V to AVDD +0.3V). Adding HDMI to the AV Famicom Voultar 2017-05-25 | In this epic installment, Lord Voultar engages the Hi-Def NES kit in Mortal Kombat. Covered in clear detail: Capacitor removal and installation, main-board preparation, PPU/CPU desoldering/soldering techniques and a bunch of other good info. UltraHDMI Installation -Nintendo 64 Voultar 2017-05-20 | This video outlines the general process of installing the Ultra HDMI kit into a Nintendo 64. Most notably, I thoroughly go over intermediate technique's for fine-pitch solder work that can be easily mastered by people with novice soldering experience. I use a generous amount of no-clean flux to demonstrate that it isn't something you should be afraid to use liberally. The no-clean flux that I use is neither corrosive or conductive, unspent. Consult the datasheet for your flux of choice, but STAY AWAY from water soluble (organic) fluxes, as the unspent deposits can be very caustic and WILL conduct. Once you improve your bodies, you'll be able to gauge the appropriate amount to dispense for good solder wetting. Even though I use a no-clean flux, I do clean the site thoroughly with an isopropyl/distilled water mix, even though I failed to include it here. There are no-flux chemistries that can't be properly cleaned with IPA. Again, consult your datasheet.
