She gets to know Steve Rogers, the eager young man hoping to be recruited in the military to make a difference in the world. She sees his empathy, love and kindness, and in lacking a companion, hopes to take him along for adventures. But the program succeeds and Captain America is born. Steve's wish is granted.The war wages on, with Schmidt eventually deploying WMDs created using Tesseract energy straight for New York. In order to save the city from imminent destruction, Steve has to put a plane in the water, effectively killing himself. His death a fixed point in time, and Amy cannot do anything to stop this - the TARDIS won't let her. However, she gets wind that Steve isn't really dead - that SHIELD would pull him out of the water 70 years later. She goes to him as he awakens in the hospital and the events of 'The Avengers' start.But Steve is different now: he's the man out of time, and all he remembers is the war that never ended. A darkness hangs off him like a shroud of mist, and while he is still determined to do the right thing, Amy notices he is no longer optimistic.The Tesseract is used to summon an alien race - the Chitauri - from an alternate dimension to destroy the Earth. As the Chitauri army ravages New York City for days on end, it still feels like a losing battle no matter how much the Avengers fight. The solution is simple though: only the TARDIS can neutralise the divide between universes and close the portal. While Amy is at first unsuccessful at convincing Steve to let her sacrifice herself, he eventually (sadly) comes around. She drives the TARDIS through the portal, and saves the Earth, stranding herself in no man's land.But cracks in time and space always exist, and, "If something can be remembered, it can come back."Other comments:THIS WAS A REAL BITCH TO MAKE (so. time consuming.) but I'm pleased with the outcome.
