Life as a Ghoul... | Fallout LoreSynonymous2026-09-21 | Life as a Ghoul... | Fallout LoreThe Vault Dwellers Family Tree | Fallout LoreSynonymous2025-07-17 | First is the Vault Dweller. This is the earliest point we can go back to in the family tree, and while we can say with absolute certainty that his parents, grandparents, and so on all came from Vault 13, anything before the great war is another matter entirely, one we can’t possibly figure out. So, this is where we begin.
The Vault Dweller, as you know, was sent out into the wasteland to find a replacement water chip for the vault’s failing water supply. He travelled across the wasteland to places like Shady Sands, Vault 15 and Necropolis, making new friends like Dogmeat and Ian along the way. Of course, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Ian was killed by super mutants, and Dogmeat met a similar fate inside Mariposa, dying to a protective energy field.
But through it all, the Vault Dweller succeeded. He found a working water chip inside Vault 12 beneath Necropolis and saved Vault 13. But soon, the mutants became the new immediate threat, as it was only a matter of time until the mutants found their way to vault 13.
With the aid of the Brotherhood of Steel, the Vault Dweller tracked down their leader, The Master, and killed him by detonating the nuclear weapon beneath the Cathedral. This not only cut off the head of the operation but also wiped out many of the Master’s human followers. Next, he turned his attention to The Mariposa military base where the mutants were being made, and after working his way inside, he initiated the self-destruct sequence, destroying the super mutant commander as well as the Vats of FEV.
Without a doubt, he was a hero. And for his monumental efforts? Overseer Jacoren exiled him. He feared that if others followed the Vault Dweller’s example and left, the vault experiment, meant to keep the inhabitants isolated for 200 years, would end early.
At the time, it had only been 84 years.
So, the Vault Dweller was cast out. Forced to find a new home. But he didn’t stay alone for long. Many of the vault’s inhabitants rebelled. Jacoren was overthrown and sentenced to death, and those who wished to leave did so. Effectively ending the experiment. These rebels eventually caught up to the Vault Dweller, and together they founded a new settlement: Arroyo.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousThe Smartest Super Mutant in Fallout | Fallout LoreSynonymous2025-07-07 | Super mutants aren’t always known for their intelligence. That’s not to say some of them don’t rival humans in terms of faculties, but there is a handful that surpasses them entirely. While it’s easy to imagine which mutants are the smartest in terms of lore, the results when using in game stats might surprise you, similar to Caesar being dumber than a mole rat. Obviously, that isn’t true based on his achievements, but the game stats says otherwise. That’s why I’m going to use them to keep you guessing throughout the video and hopefully make it a bit more fun...

Before getting into the flying whales, I’d like to spend a few minutes talking about the normal whales, because I find them fascinating, and perhaps you will too...
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousFallout 4s Missing Synth | Fallout LoreSynonymous2025-06-20 | In the world of Fallout, the term synth, short for synthetic humanoid, is used to describe biomechanical beings manufactured in the Institute's laboratories. These creations come in three generations. The early Gen 1 and Gen 2 synths are purely mechanical, crude robots running on simple AI. But Generation 3 synths, developed from the late 2220s onward, are something else entirely. They’re biological, nearly indistinguishable from humans in both appearance and behaviour...

#elderscrolls #elderscrollslore #synonymousAll of Fallouts Missing Main Characters | Fallout LoreSynonymous2025-03-21 | Every Fallout fan is familiar with the main protagonists, even the lesser-known ones like The Initiate or Warrior, who still hold some recognition. However, there are many, many others...13 in fact, that never made it into the final versions of their respective games. These characters were either cut, replaced, or the game was cancelled entirely. In Fallout 1, the protagonist, as you all know, is The Vault Dweller. Described as a 20-year-old, third-generation resident of Vault 13. However, the Vault Dweller might not be a random person, but one of the pre-set characters instead. Max Stone, Natalia Dubrovhsky, and Albert Cole are three potential protagonists, with Albert being the most popular stand-in for The Vault Dweller. He even appeared in the artwork celebrating Fallout’s 25th anniversary, leading many to believe he was the official Vault Dweller, which I’d be fine with, even if this was later disproved. Although these characters are familiar to us, Fallout 1 initially planned to feature 7 Vault dwellers, not just 3...
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousFallouts Random Roach King | Fallout LoreSynonymous2025-03-14 | Fallout has no shortage of strange characters; the AntAgonizer, the Mechanist, Harold…each with their own quirks and goals and The Roach King is no exception.
First appearing in Fallout 3, The Roach King is a mysterious figure who, according to his name, has somehow tamed radroaches and declared himself their monarch. Ever vigilant, he patrols his tiny kingdom just northeast of Minefield, armed with a minigun, ready to attack anyone who approaches. At the heart of his domain sits his throne, a crude construction of tires, a padded dining chair, a clock, and a rocket playset. A throne truly fit for a king. According to The Fallout 3 Official Game Guide, his radroach subjects actually helped him build it, providing him with a place to escape the harsh Wasteland sun. How the roaches understood his desires remains a mystery, but a passage from the Wasteland Census, written from his perspective no less, offers a glimpse into his odd worldview:
"Kheee! First, build throne. Then take rocket. Kheee! Some of my shiny friends help me. What time is it? Scuttle-and-bustle time. Kheee! The sun is hot. But the throne is cool. Khee-akaahhh-kuhhh... oh, me insides don’t feel right. Sleepy time. Kheee!"
This fragmented speech suggests the Roach King has more than a few screws loose, but it may also hint at an underlying illness. His complaints about his insides hurting could indicate radiation sickness, and his fixation on staying cool might stem from his body overheating, another common result of extended radiation exposure and his throne is close to several pools of irradiated water, so it’s probably that or perhaps he’s simply sick from living with radroaches. Despite his unique title, the Roach King isn’t tied to any larger lore. His character model is randomly generated, meaning he can sometimes spawn with a woman’s body, though he always retains the same facial hair and is always wearing the same psycho tic helmet, either due to the clothing resembling an insects antenna or the goggles provide some defence from the blinding sun.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousThe Chaurus Have a Hidden Secret … | Elder Scrolls LoreSynonymous2025-03-07 | In the early First Era The Atmoran conquest of Skyrim forced the native Snow Elves into hiding. Desperate for sanctuary, many turned to the subterranean Dwemer for refuge. But their salvation came at a terrible cost. In exchange for protection, the Dwemer subjected them to a cruel dependency, forcing them to consume a toxic fungus that gradually robbed them of their sight. Over generations, these once-proud elves were twisted into something unrecognisable. When they finally rebelled, their war against the Dwemer raged in secret beneath Skyrim’s soil, unseen and unknown to the Nords above. And then, in an instant, it all ended. The Dwemer vanished from existence, and the Falmer found themselves alone in the abyss, free to expand and dominate as they pleased. No longer bound to their ancient war, they turned their aggression elsewhere. Travellers vanished without a trace, their bodies never recovered, some were consumed, others bound to a life of slavery. Cattle were slaughtered, and entire villages whispered fearful tales of unseen horrors stealing away infants in the dead of night. The Falmer had become a lurking danger, unseen but ever present. Yet, despite their isolation and wretched existence, they were never truly alone. Among their most trusted companions were the strange, monstrous creatures that shared their darkened world. Frostbite Spiders were among these allies, but today, we turn our attention to the most fascinating and terrifying of them all: the Chaurus.
#elderscrolls #elderscrollslore #synonymousAll of Fallouts Talking Creatures | Fallout LoreSynonymous2025-02-15 | From philosophising plants to mutant deathclaws dreaming of diplomacy, the world of Fallout was once home to a surprising number of chatty animals. But where did this trend begin, and why did it all but disappear in later games? Well, one of the rarest encounters in Fallout 1 involves a simple herd of six wild Brahmin. Unlike most creatures in the wasteland, they don’t attack the player…instead, they simply say, “Moo!” or, if they’re feeling particularly eloquent, “Moo, I say!” This encounter may seem like a throwaway joke, but it actually has a deeper origin. Tim Cain, one of Fallout’s key developers, used to play a game called Darker Realms, where he had a habit of teleporting snow cows into his friend’s workroom, a story he told to Chris Taylor, who handled most of Fallout’s random encounters, and he found the story so funny that he decided to add something similar to Fallout 1 with The Talking Brahmin. And while this encounter is considered non canon, Ed a Brahmin dealer in Fallout 2 mentions that he witnessed his brahmin speak, saying “Moo, I say” which could just be a reference to the encounter, but it could also mean that there’s more of them out there, and with how crazy Fallout 76 has gotten, with alien invasions and what not, I suspect talking Brahmin will make another appearance...
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousFallouts Forgotten Freaks | Fallout LoreSynonymous2025-01-23 | Over the years, several cut creatures have managed to escape the cutting room floor. For example, Lobotomites were going to be in Fallout 1, they didn’t but they did return years later in New Vegas’s DLC Old World Blues. Floaters, appeared in Fallout 1, were then cut from Fallout 3, and reappeared in Fallout 76, albeit with a slightly different appearance. And Rad Bats, while appearing in concept art didn’t make it into Fallout 4, however the Scorch beasts of Fallout 76 might be considered their spiritual successors, showing us that cut creatures can often re-emerge, sometimes with new designs and purposes. Yet, some creatures have been waiting a very long time for their moment, like the Venus Mantrap from Fallout 2.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousThe Missing Fox Folk of Black Marsh | Elder Scrolls LoreSynonymous2025-01-14 | In the world of Tamriel, mysteries are as plentiful as the stars in the sky. Some are whispered about in quiet corners, while others have long since faded into forgotten history. But among these lost tales, there is one that stands out…the story of the Lilmothiit, the Fox Folk of Black Marsh. Living in the dense swampland region of South-eastern Tamriel, the Lilmothiit were a race of fox-like creatures…humanoid in form, but with the distinct features of their vulpine ancestors. The Pocket Guide to the Empire (First Edition) suggests they might have shared a distant connection with the Khajiit of Elsweyr, while no one can say for certain, it's an interesting thought…were the Lilmothiit distant cousins of the Khajiit, or is their similarities just a coincidence of evolution? Either way, these mysterious people were nomadic, moving from place to place in search of survival, but they weren’t entirely without roots. Settlements like Lilmoth, a major port city on the southern tip of Murkmire, and Blackrose, a settlement in Murkmire near the Murkwood forest, shows us that despite their nomadic nature they possessed the knowledge and strength to create long lasting structures. But due to their itinerant ways these buildings might have served as temporary sanctuaries in times of crises, destinations for religious journeys or possible spots for tribes to congregate and trade before retreating back to their own camps, still, these structures speak to a people capable of creating something that could endure in a world full of constant change.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousThe Bitter Backstory of Craig Boone | Fallout LoreSynonymous2024-12-28 | Craig Boone was born in 2255, during a time when the New California Republic was steadily expanding its reach across the wasteland. Growing up in this environment, Boone was instilled with the NCR’s values of duty, loyalty, and service. These ideals shaped much of his early life, and he saw the NCR as a way to bring order to a chaotic world, so he joined the army, and his exceptional marksmanship earned him a place in the elite First Recon unit, one of the finest combat units in the NCR. It was here he became good friends with Manny Vargas, a former Great Khan. For Boone, joining the army wasn’t just about duty, it was about finding his place in the world, but there was also more to it than that. Manny, his new friend, was with him every step of the way, and their shared bond made the army feel like home, it was a place where loyalty ran deeper than blood and there was a lot of blood. In 2277, at 22 years old, Boone found himself at the heart of the First Battle of Hoover Dam. Stationed at Camp Golf, he was on the front lines when Caesar’s Legion launched their brutal assault. The battle was everything he’d trained for, but nothing could have prepared him for the horrors he would witness. Though the NCR ultimately emerged victorious, the cost was high and the experience forever changed Boone, but that change was miniscule in comparison to what happened next…
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousThe Tragic Tale of Lily Bowen | Fallout LoreSynonymous2024-11-22 | Lily’s life began in the relative safety of Vault 17. Together, they raised a child, and Lily eventually became a grandmother to two wonderful children, Jimmy and Becky. Life in the vault was peaceful, quaint even. Her husband was known for making a remarkably strong moonshine, which Lily enjoyed on special occasions. But this tranquillity wouldn’t last. In 2153, when Lily was 75 years old, Unity, led by the Master in his search for “prime normals”, raided Vault 17. Lily was dragged outside where she saw the sun for the very first time, but the beauty didn’t last, as she and the other survivors were soon taken to the Mariposa Military Base and dipped into the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). Emerging as a super mutant, Lily was physically altered, she was shorter than average due to her age, but she was intelligent and powerful. As for her family, they were either killed during the invasion or transformed into mutants and lost all memory of their past lives...
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousThe Revolting Lifecycle of The Dreugh | Elder Scrolls LoreSynonymous2024-11-08 | Long before modern civilizations rose in Tamriel, there existed a strange and mysterious species known commonly as the dreugh (pronounced drehk) or in rare cases, cepholomer. These ancient creatures, part man, part octopus, were once said to have ruled the world, in a time shrouded by myth and legend. Although they appear part human with their humanoid heads and torsos, they have no known language or advanced communication skills, that doesn’t mean they never did, but so much of what we know about the dreugh comes from tales and stories passed down through time and the research of dedicated scholars, though half of that information is unreliable at best. Even so, people believe the dreugh were once a mighty race, possessing intelligence and culture far beyond the capabilities of the simple beasts they seem today. Tales mention underwater castles made from coral and glass, populaces fed by efficient Mudcrab farms, and more impressively…their expansion onto land, building colonies and stone cairn structures. But now the dreugh are very different, devolved you might say, into mere shadows of their former selves, yet this claim is based on the assumption that the creatures have reduced in number, lost their ability to build, farm and communicate…a fate I will discuss in just a moment, but for now I’d like to focus on the actualities...
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousExploring Fallouts Elusive Cryptids | Fallout LoreSynonymous2024-10-31 | Cryptids are Creatures that are mentioned in local folklore, but whose actual existence has yet to be confirmed, but the truth is that many of these different cryptids do exist and institutions like The U.S. Armed Forces and intelligence agencies like Sugar Grove, were keeping track of cryptid encounters right up until the bombs dropped. Even though most people thought they were just folklore created by those with active imaginations, cryptids were still a big part of pre-war culture. Point Pleasant built a statue of the Mothman, Vault-Tec University’s football team was called the “Fighting Wendigos,” and radio shows like Tales from the West Virginia Hills told stories about various cryptids reportedly sighted in the area. After the Great War, sightings of cryptids began to increase and the reason why, at least according to Shelby O'Rourke, a cryptozoologist living in The Mire, was thanks to nuclear war removing the majority of humans, the creatures now felt safe enough to come out of hiding…Over the years many cryptids have either appeared or been mentioned throughout the Fallout series, however I’m going to exclude the eldritch entities, paranormal encounters and extra terrestrials, all of which while strange and mysterious, are technically not cryptids, who are said to animal in nature and terrestrial in origin. With that said, we begin with The Mega Sloth.

Mr. House, seeing the opportunity to restore order and power to Vegas, sent his Securitrons out from the Lucky 38 and began rebuilding the city. Despite Vegas surviving The Great War, people didn’t immediately settle into the remnants of the old city. It was years before that happened and when it did the survivors, described as Vault Tribes, fought amongst themselves. That was until House appeared, directing those who were willing to listen. Fortunately, the people of this land have developed several methods of transportation. There are Guild Guides for magical teleportation, gondolas to counter the waterways, and boats for longer sea journeys. But perhaps the most iconic mode of transport of all, is the Silt Strider. These immense, towering arthropods serve as a primary means of transportation throughout Vvardenfell and the Telvanni Peninsula. Reaching heights of up to 60 feet, drivers and passengers alike have had to build platforms or use naturally high sections of the land to climb aboard these massive creatures. Despite their challenging size and haunting appearance, Silt Striders are known for their docile nature. With few natural predators, they are well adapted to Vvardenfell’s harsh conditions. Their long, stilt-like legs allow them to navigate the rugged terrain with surprising ease, while their tough exoskeleton provides protection from the ash-heavy winds, letting them thrive in environments where other creatures can’t...
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousCaesar | Fallout LoreSynonymous2024-08-28 | Edward Sallow was born in 2226 near the Boneyard. His early years were marked by tragedy - raiders murdered his father when he was only two years old, forcing his mother to seek refuge with the Followers of the Apocalypse. A group dedicated to preservation, restoration and furtherment of knowledge. It was within the Followers' library that the seeds of his future were planted. As his mother toiled, cooking and cleaning, young Edward devoured the free education offered by them. Though a brilliant student, his success was driven only by his personal interest in subjects, and his arrogance quickly alienated his peers. The Followers preached enlightenment and peace, but to Edward, their mission was a naïve dream - one destined to fail in the harsh realities of the post-apocalyptic world, a belief that never went away. By the time he was twenty, Edward had become a budding anthropologist and linguist, as such he was sent on an expedition to study the dialects of the tribes living in the Grand Canyon, but he wasn’t alone, there was Bill Calhoun a fellow Follower and Joshua Graham, a Mormon Missionary from New Canaan. Despite having the best intentions, fate would lead Edward far from the path of peaceful study. During their journey, his party was captured by the Blackfoot, a weak, disorganized tribe on the verge of extinction. Where his companions saw hopelessness, Edward saw potential and in return for his parties freedom, he offered the Blackfoot more than just the secrets of language, he offered them survival through knowledge of war. He trained them in the use of firearms, taught them to make explosives, and drilled them in military tactics. It was here, as he stood over the bodies of his enemies, that Edward Sallow died and Caesar was born...
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousVault Tecs Other Plans | Fallout LoreSynonymous2024-08-18 | Once upon a time, Vault-Tec was seen as the saviour of humanity. The world stood on the brink of total annihilation, an inevitable nuclear war and amidst the rising tension and fear, Vault-Tec appeared as a beacon of hope. Their promise was simple: protection, preservation, and a future. For many, Vault-Tec represented the best of American ingenuity, brilliant scientists, advanced technology and a company willing to step up when the world needed them the most. Their underground vaults, so they said, were havens. A place where you could wait out the storm until it was safe to step into a new world. But behind this glowing promise was something much darker. Vault-Tec was not just building shelters, they were playing God. The vaults were not simply a means to protect people from the horrors of nuclear war. They were experiments...experiments designed to mold the future of humanity in ways that few could have imagined.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousLiberty Prime | Fallout LoreSynonymous2024-08-04 | In the years leading up to The Great War, relations between US and China deteriorated at a worrying pace, in response to this strained relationship The US strengthened their military presence in Alaska to prevent a possible invasion across the Bering Strait. Due to the increasing scarcity of fossil fuel reserves across the entire world, many nations including those mentioned, attempted to locate and claim the few remaining reserves that were left. For example, China discovered a large deep-sea oil deposit in the Pacific Ocean, although their prize was short lived after the deposit was allegedly sabotaged by American special forces. Following this, the already tense relationship between the two countries spiralled into full-blown conflict, when, during the winter of 2066, China launched a massive attack and invaded northern Alaska, attempting to assault as far south into United States territory as they possible could, with a specific focus on taking the capital and removing the political and military high command structure, officially starting The Sino-American War. Under the command of General Jingwei, the People's Liberation Army took control of Alaska's oil pipelines and reserves, while simultaneously sending sleeper agents and stealth-armoured soldiers across the country, crippling defences from within and sowing discord among the American people. In response to the Chinese occupation of Anchorage, the United States Army got to work on taking it back, but progress was slow and resources dwindled. Naturally they wanted something more dominant than T45 power armor and more deadly than gauss rifles, they wanted something capable of quickly crushing the reds and their moral. As such RobCo Industries and General Atomics International were commissioned by The US Army to design and create the most powerful combat robot the world had ever seen…a robot called Liberty Prime.

But sometime after 2277 and 2281, Denver and the feral dogs were introduced to The Legion who were seeking to replenish their numbers after their defeat at Hoover Dam. Despite the dogs overwhelming presence in the city, there were those living on the outskirts, post-war tribes, who, despite the odds, managed to live alongside the hounds, all of which were either eliminated or assimilated by The Legion. One tribe in particular, The Hangdogs who worshipped the strays, resisted assimilation for some time, though in the end, they surrendered when Legate Lanius started burning their dogs alive. To them, the Denver Hounds were sacred and the thought of their spirit animals burning in the afterlife was unbearable, so they submitted themselves to Caesar and became The Legions Hound Masters. With their aid, The Legion was able to tame a number of mongrels, turning the stray dogs into war hounds, including B955883, who can be seen sporting a Legion Bull on the side of his torso.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousFallouts Cybernetic Organisms | Fallout LoreSynonymous2023-12-15 | Throughout the Fallout series many humans, ghouls, super mutants and even dogs, have had certain elements of their bodies replaced with cybernetic modifications. The definition of a Cyborg is a biological organism whose abilities have been extended beyond normal limitations, either through electronic, mechanical or robotic means. Synths on the other hand, which are synthetic in nature, are the polar opposite. They are synthetic organisms and while they do have human or animal flesh they are not considered cyborgs by definition, as such they will not be discussed, but they will receive their own dedicated video. Now, the use of implants and prosthetics was fairly normal before The Great War, with artificial organs being used in hospitals during lifesaving surgeries, but also more broadly in military and police settings. Specifically, implants that improved the defences and combat proficiency of Cyberdogs and Robobrains. However, the process of turning a biological organism into a cyborg isn’t as simple as I’ve made it sound, and many times the procedures were detrimental to the subjects health and wellbeing. As a result Doctors would only suggest cybernetic surgeries if it was a medical emergency. Whereas the US military took things to the extreme.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousWhere is The Far Beyond? | Fallout LoreSynonymous2023-11-21 | In Fallout New Vegas you can help Jason Bright, the leader of The Bright Brotherhood, achieve his dream of sending his flock to a better place, The Far Beyond. Supposedly a place of safety and healing for ghouls. The climax of the quest can end with Jason and his flock ascending the heavens inside REPCONN test rockets, but there’s no mention as to where The Far Beyond actually is. It could be a metaphor for the afterlife, a real location or a simple lie. If we ask Jason where he’s taking his flock he avoids giving us a definitive answer, only saying that he knows where to go thanks to his visions from the creator, some mysterious being that he believes is guiding him and his followers to their new home at The Far Beyond. However, not all members of The Bright Brotherhood will be going on The Great Journey. According to The Creator, Chris Haversam Jason’s senior engineer, cannot survive the journey due to him being a normal human. The radiation around the launch pad, as well as the radiation at The Far Beyond, is strong enough to kill both Chris and other ordinary humans within a matter of minutes. So humans in general cannot survive the journey or the destination, which is one of the main reasons the ghouls are going to The Far Beyond. They want to escape the cruel wasteland and the bigotry of its human inhabitants. Again, this doesn’t reveal whether the Far Beyond is a real place or not, but you can look at the situation in several different ways...
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousGrayditchs Biggest Mystery | Fallout LoreSynonymous2023-11-07 | In today’s video I’m going to talk about Dr Weston Lesko, the scientist in Grayditch, and how he came to possess a sample of the illustrious Forced Evolutionary Virus. Now, Dr Lesko can be found in The Capital Wasteland, living in the small, dilapidated town of Grayditch. Beneath the streets of which, is Marigold station, where the scientist can be seen working on his latest endeavour. That is to save The Wasteland from giant mutated ants. Lesko seeks to return the giant ants back to their original puny Pre-War size by genetically manipulating their egg broods. Although Lesko's experiments didn’t actually start until November 2276, when he arrived at Grayditch. After which he employed the townsfolk to help build a small shack and while a few of them did humour him, such as Fred and Bryan Wilks, who also allowed him to stay at their home while the shack was being built, others, like William Brandice, rejected his offer. Shortly after the shack was complete Lesko finally got to put his theories into practice when he discovered a colony of ants underneath Marigold station. As a result of this discovery Lesko moved below ground and set up a field lab from which he could easily access the ant eggs, inject them with various concoctions made with FEV and then monitor the results. And for a time things were fine, that was until the ants started to grow even larger, they became more aggressive, intelligent and developed pyrosis, the ability to spit fire.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousFallouts Biggest Mysteries | Fallout LoreSynonymous2023-10-25 | Fallout has a lot of history, factions and people that are quite mysterious, with a lot their past either being lost or simply never known. So I present to you, 4 of Fallout’s biggest mysteries, along with several theories which try and explain what’s really going on. Vault-Tec existed as early as 2031, when it acquired and re-branded Morgantown's local college as Vault-Tec University. The company could be older than this and they may have even gone by another name, we don’t know. But we do know that in the early 2050’s, thanks to The Euro-Middle Eastern War, The New Plague and The collapse of The United Nations, The US Government set Project Safehouse in motion.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousEarth | Starfield LoreSynonymous2023-10-01 | According to The United Colonies, in 2150, humanity learned that The Earth’s magnetosphere would collapse sometime in the next-half century, eliminating all life on the planet. Decisive action was required, but the secure transport of an entire civilization would demand a new kind of cooperation, a new kind of courage, and a new kind of union. Thus in 2159, the united colonies were formed to make that journey possible. Just one year later, the Galileo, the first of many colony ships, touched down on Jemison, beginning a new era of human history, the age of the united colonies. But there’s more to this story than The UC is aware of, and it all starts with a man named Victor Aiza.

He programmed mainframes with satellite links to disable warheads in flight, he designed high-powered laser cannons and installed them on the roof of The Lucky 38 and Hoover Dam, to deal with any warheads his program missed. To preserve himself, his body was connected to a hibernation chamber, a sophisticated life support device that took care of his physiological needs, while his brain, was directly wired into his information network, using a cerebral interface and super computer giving him access to And so everything was in place for the big day, however the most important part was missing, the platinum chip, a top secret access card and high capacity storage device, which contained a vital upgrade for both his Securitrons and his laser defence network. That chip was only 20 hours away from being delivered when the Great War started, and Robert House was forced to use an inferior version of the OS, and between numerous system crashes, he was able to disarm 59 warheads with predicted disarm codes, and destroy 9 more with lasers, yet 11 warheads did manage to breach his defences and brought the city, and the surrounding area, to ruin. But there were those who survived, as the city was home to a Vault-Tec shelter, Vault 21.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousVault 19 | Fallout LoreSynonymous2023-09-11 | Vault 19 is found northeast of Goodsprings, beneath an abandoned parking lot. The inhabitants of which, as lucky as they were to have survived The Great War, soon found themselves at the mercy of Vault Tec. Upon entering the vault the survivors met with their overseers, vault 19 is unique in that it had two them, each of whom would govern their own half of the vault, as such the dwellers were parted into two equal groups, and taken to one of two sectors, red or blue. From there on their contact with the other group was extremely limited, and the contact they did have was brief, perhaps sharing a table in the cantina, or passing in the hallway which gave them a few moments to communicate, but other than that they tended to keep to their own sector, befriending those they could actually spend time with and as time went on, these small interactions slowly faded into nothing, with both groups all but ignoring the other.
#fallout #falloutlore #synonymousVault 3 | Fallout LoreSynonymous2023-08-27 | Vault 3 a control vault, so no callous or cruel experiment for the residents to endure, instead the survivors who escaped The Great War got to live their new lives below ground as if nothing had changed. And for many years, their children went to school, they celebrated birthdays, and replaced the workforce to continue the cycle. But one day a maintenance worker discovered a small leak, a minor inconvenience that changed everything. That leak, as insignificant as it was, was something they couldn’t fix because they didn’t have the required parts. So, as a result Vincent Vanmiller, The Chief of Maintenance, told The Overseer, Lincoln Davies, that while he was able to vent the pipes in that section to isolate the leak and stop the pressure from stressing the rest of the system, all he had done was buy them more time, as without the parts The Vault would eventually run out of water. Overseer Davies, now working on borrowed time, ordered for the water to be rationed until the leak could be repaired, which he assured the other dwellers would happen. But in order for it to happen they needed to open their vault door and go outside...

But where did these creatures come from, who are the people wearing these unusual suits and why do they still inhabit this dreadful place? To thank for these abominations, we have Frederick Sinclair.
