Baki Hanma: Blood Arena - Punch-Out Meets Anime Longplay Game Saloon 2025-09-14 | I liked Thunder Ray in spite of its flaws. The crazy characters made we want to see what would be next. Baki Hanma, on the other hand, had the opposite effect. I realize it's based on an anime, so the characters are kind of set in stone, but that doesn't change how boring the fights are compared to the previous game. The charge is actually useful this time, which is good because the difficulty seems to be cranked up. The final boss is the worst ever. I dare say harder than Mike Tyson! After finally beating him, there was no desire to ever touch this one again, despite the title screen showing future dlc. From the makers of Thunder Ray, this is pretty much the same game with an anime reskin. For some reason they made it WAY harder though, with the final boss Yujiro Hanma being one of the most frustrating I've ever fought. The action is still too janky though, with few ways to interrupt attacks and weird hitboxes. It's like a monster movie combined with an escape room. The main character Cole must have had a blast being in all these different death scenes.Wales Interactive has been in the FMV game for years, but this time the cranked the gore up to maximum. I must have played too many games in my days though, because this whole time-loop plot is kinda gettin old. Which is weird because that was my favorite plot type at one time. Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master (Sega Genesis) - Expert Mode No Death Longplay Game Saloon 2025-09-05 | A big improvement over Revenge of Shinobi, Shinobi 3 is a classic on the Genesis that is better in nearly every way. Bosses are bigger, controls are tighter (even though the double jump is still too tricky), and the music is catchier. The thing is though, I still prefer Shadow Dancer over this. I like the more vivid colors and even better music of that game. The bosses do kind of suck, but it's not like this game has all-time classic fights. The difficulty of this hits that rare perfect spot however, with perseverance anyone can make it to the end. Worthy of being on a Top 25 Genesis list. Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master is a fast-paced side-scrolling action game for the Sega Genesis that puts you in control of Joe Musashi, the legendary ninja, as he battles the evil Neo Zeed organization. The table is fine enough, but the modes themselves are tough as nails. Took forever just to get past the hiding from Nibit mode. The worst part of this table is you're constantly triggering other mini-modes that lock you out of starting the main ones. The R2-D2 mode where you rotate the circles in a maze is bad, but it at least gives you a ball save. You're friend is in trouble, and you have to explore a creepy mega-mansion to find him. There's no way to die, so you're free to explore and solve the puzzles to unlock new areas. Progress is blocked until you find usb sticks that unlock FMV scenes you watch before obtaining an item that opens a new section. The story is okay, and even after the huge lore dump at the end I'm not 100% certain what happened at the mansion, but a worthy playthrough for puzzle lovers that are also into psyche horror.Find your missing friend.
