Marvels Infinity Countdown Is...Fine Mr. Cs Comics 2018-03-11 | Marvel recently released their #1 issue of Infinity Countdown! And aside from the fact that it not only has a title eerily similar to DC's Doomsday Clock but also reads like they copypasta'd Marvel Legacy, it's a fine book. Just...fine. Wolverine is in it, Black Widow is still alive *SPOILERZZZZSZS!!!!!1111one***If you're new to the Infinity stories, then it's a good idea to pick up and read Infinity Countdown Adam Warlock as well as the Prime issue. Those books contain backstory and knowledge regarding the stones/gems and their current whereabouts.Thanos shows back up, Kang makes some guest appearances, and Marvel wants to sell us comic books right after we go see Avengers Infinity War at fine theaters everywhere! Netflixs The Punisher | Gun Violence & Audience Entitlement Mr. Cs Comics 2017-12-10 | The release of Netflix's The Punisher was coincident with the Las Vegas mass shooting, which brought the show more attention than it likely would have gotten. The national conversation around gun violence puts this kind of art in an odd place; one where some viewers and critics expect the show to make statements about the political conditions we're in. Granted, The Punisher is a bit more violent than previous Marvel shows, and plays fast and loose with the notion of justice. Still, does the show need to make a statement about the current state of affairs in the U.S.? Does Frank Castle have to offer an audience more depth and introspection than his source material may have provided? Thor Ragnarok: Surtur & the Horsemen | Book of Revelation & Norse Myth Mr. Cs Comics 2017-10-30 | When it comes to the Apocalypse, it seems that some authors get inspiration from other texts. Either that, or the original inspiration is providing similar ideas. Either way, there are some fun similarities between the Twilight of the Gods in Ragnarok, and the end of days in the Bible.
