Eddie Hall set the mark at 500 kg in 2016. Thor nudged it to 501 kg in 2020, added 4 kg more about six weeks ago, and then, just three days back, tacked on another 5 kg—bringing it to 510 kg.
From the speed on that 510, it’s pretty clear he still had something left in the tank. If he’d gone for 530, like he mentioned, I honestly think it might have been on the table. Thor now plans to push the bar even higher, and as long as he can hold this form—no small task—there’s every chance he’ll do it.
And when you talk about Thor and the deadlift, Eddie’s name naturally comes up. He was the first to break the 500 kg barrier and did it by 37 kg in a single day—at that level, absolutely insane. Lately, Eddie has shown respect for Thor after both the 505 and 510 pulls. Years of questioning Thor’s 2020 lift—since it was done under special sanction outside a typical contest—seem to be over. Eddie’s now said it plainly: Thor is the strongest deadlifter of all time.

In this video we break down the full road to 510: Eddie Hall’s landmark 500 kg (2016), Thor’s 501 kg (2020), the 505 kg official in 2025, and the rivals keeping the summit honest—Ivan Makarov, Graham Hicks, Rauno Heinla. We also cover Thor’s detour into boxing, the pec tear and rehab, and the technique keys (setup, wedge, knee transition, lockout) that decide these all-time pulls. Drop your take—did 510 redefine the limit, or instead show us how close we are?Eddie Hall: The Man Who Went Too Far...Liam C2025-09-05 | Dive into the definitive Eddie Hall story—from bullied, asthmatic kid in Stoke-on-Trent to World’s Strongest Man 2017. This documentary-style video traces Eddie’s first steps into the gym, the obsession that took over his life, and the sacrifices behind the scenes: 12,000-calorie days, relentless training, injuries, and the health warnings he ignored in pursuit of greatness.
We relive the night he shocked the world with the 500 kg deadlift—a near-death, history-making moment—then follow the brutal aftermath that forced impossible choices. You’ll see how Eddie recalibrated for one final campaign to win WSM (with the Atlas Stones sealing the crown), why he retired at the top, and how he transformed his body and priorities for longevity and family.
The film also covers his rivalry with Hafþór Björnsson, the online firestorm that followed WSM 2017, and the unexpected chapter in the boxing ring in 2022—plus what Eddie’s legacy means for strongman today: smarter training, better safety, and a generation inspired by uncompromising will.
If you’ve ever wondered what greatness really costs, this is Eddie Hall—unfiltered: obsession, sacrifice, redemption, and a legacy that outlives the records. ------------------------------------- Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. The truth might disappoint you.
In this video, I break down why elite-level strength—like what we see from legends such as Eddie Hall, Brian Shaw, and Hafthor Björnsson (Thor)—often starts with genetics you simply can't train for. These guys were doing insane strength feats as teenagers, long before stepping into a professional gym.
We’ll look at:
Eddie Hall's freakish strength before lifting seriously
Brian Shaw's insane size, grip strength and natural athleticism
Thor’s raw power long before Game of Thrones
And why most people, no matter how hard they work, will never reach that level
Whether you're a gym rat, a powerlifting fan, or just curious about how far strength can go—this video will open your eyes.

When you dissolve the tablet, the water becomes infused with this hydrogen gas, which you then drink. This has led to claims that hydrogen water could support faster recovery, reduced fatigue, better skin health, and protection against some chronic diseases. He F*cked Up, Then #motivation #shorts #weightloss #transformation #fitnessLiam C2025-06-13 | ...Brian Shaw Height Measured (is he 68??)Liam C2025-06-08 | ...F*CK YOUR MOTIVATION #shorts #crossfit #gym #motivation #weightloss #weightlossjourney #joeroganLiam C2025-05-30 | My journey in fitness over the last 5 years.Would Eddie be Thors friend again?
