Nintendo Cancelled Accessories & 2nd Generation Cellphone games - Fresh Gear - E3 2002 Grooveraider 2010-10-07 | Ah, the good ole days of Tech TV...Remember "Fresh Gear" ? Several months after the successful launch of the Gameboy Advance; Nintendo had big plans to improve on its previous add-on for the Gameboy Pocket called GameBoy Camera. The Gameboy Advance "Game Eye" would've been the successor to its predecessor. Game Eye would not only allow you to store your own pics you'd take; but also allow you to incorporate your own images into Gamecube / GBA games! At the time "Game Eye" was considered a prototype with plans to release it in Japan. Well sadly Game Eye never came to mass market, at all. The same can be said about the the official Nintendo Gamecube LCD screen. No officialinformation has been given as to why the portable LCD screen never released for Gamecube. But 3rd party accessory developers like Interact jumped on the idea complete with a 90-minute battery back-up docking station to make the Gamecube console fully portable!

We stood in a pretty large line waiting to get our chance to see the VB games for the first-time in the U.S. Nintendo wasn't allowing photography inside but I was able to pretend my camera wasn't shooting by placing some dark wire tape over the recording light. Since the clip is nowhere to be found online I figured I provide the evidence. Charles Martinet as Mario & Wario @ Winter Consumer Electronic Show - WCES 1993 Grooveraider 2009-12-21 | Charles Martinet started voice acting Mario & Wario at electronic trade shows in which attendees could walk up towards a TV monitor with a camera mounted above it ( helps Mr. Martinet to see the crowd ). On the television screen was a 3-D Mario & Wario head that moved around the screen and spoke to the crowd. This system was called Mario In Real-Time, or MIRT for short. Martinet would act out the character facial moves with a motion capture rig to Martinet's face. FUN FACT: 3 years prior to this clip - voice actor / comedian Charles Martinet would be introduced into homes of Nintendo fans across the globe in a game called SUPER MARIO 64 :)
