DEMON ALTERS!? | Non-Human Alters in Dissociative Identity Disorder | Switching & Dissociation DissociaDID 2024-06-02 | Soren, Mike, Sally, Red and Kem work together to explain why some DID Systems might form Demon Alters after experiencing repeated trauma. This is the first video we successfully filmed after our break and a lot of inter-system communication was needed to manage it. We are happy to share how our switches, communication, co-fronting and being blendy can look for our System to destigmatise these aspects of DID and show that they are just normal daily parts of this disorder. We kept only a small amount visible in the video as we wanted to keep the focus on this important subject topic instead. COURT OF APPEAL RESULTS | DissociaDID Update DissociaDID 2023-05-14 | We had a video update planned for release today following the latest judgement from the Court of Appeal. Costa's applications to appeal were refused on all 15 grounds across 4 applications by the Judge Lord Justice Arnold. However, we won't be releasing that video today, as we've just received new correspondence from Costa as a result of this outcome which we need to consider before posting anything. MEET A MERMAID ALTER: MURMER! | NON-HUMAN ALTERS & Dissociative Identity Disorder | DissociaDID DissociaDID 2023-04-30 | Murmur's Meet The Alters video! Murmer is a non-human (mermaid) caretaker Alter in our DID System who helps us deal with water-related trauma and abuse. As she is a mermaid in the inner world and therefore cannot drown there, she is less affected by flashbacks and trauma related to drowning and water. Because of this, when Murmer is the Alter who showers and bathes the body any flashbacks or triggers are massively reduced and if they do happen, they have much less impact on the body and the System. Triggered Alters & Passive Influence | #dissociativeidentitydisorder DissociaDID 2023-04-24 | Real life example of how DID can work to protect the Host from remembering or being aware of trauma - even when the body itself is having a physical response to a trigger. Other Alters can hold, remember and re-experience trauma while the Host and other Alters in the System may experience amnesia or heavy dissociation to protect themselves.
