Stresstesting the PCCF toolhead.Keyan Mobli2022-02-07 | I reprinted the toolhead and some of the moving gantry in 3DXTech ezCFPC because this chamber regularly hits 80c+ and the ABS was melting. The additional stiffness is really nice. Affiliate link to the filament here: amzn.to/3gvOV7D
Also pictured is the Titanium mosquito net to increase stiffness.
Speeds pictured are 15k accel and accel to decel, 250mm/s and 15scv. This is my quality print setting and I don't generally notice any deterioration in quality until past 30k accel. 15k also reduces some of the wear on the components.
I've done zero maintenance since the new toolhead went on 500hours ago. Due to the extreme speed, everything has loctite on it.
Was able to print at the exact same settings as my pure tungsten carbide nozzle with no changes in quality. it does the job I want from a nozzle which is set and forget it.
Only downside I can think of is that it's an insert rather than a full tungsten carbide nozzle so I don't know how it will wear and what parts of the filament path are TC vs copper. This particularly matters with abrasives.
Its a bit expensive at $55-60 for an insert.
They should be up for sale soon!

Been putting this printer to work getting these toys printed.
Some of them came off my Voron v2, but the vast majority off of my K3. Was really happy to be able to put this printer to work on this wonderful campaign IC3D put together with TfT.
Print speeds are 350mm/s, 25k acceleration, 15scv. .2 LH and .4 nozzle. Average flow is about 15mm3/s. This is a crossed gantry design and is currently in public beta
These RobotDigg MGN9C 440c rails have a convenient lube port for lubing the rail adequately. They're currently installed on my Annex Engineering K3 and they're absolutely fantastic rails.
This printer is subject to extreme speeds and high temps, so keeping the rails adequately greased is important. I've found that this particular printer needs to be regreased roughly every 500 print hours with EP2.

This entire plate of ABS printer parts should be done in about 3 hours in.
I started my 3d printing journey with an ender 3 pro after deciding on that over a Prusa mk3 or Prusa mini. After multiple upgrades to the ender 3, I had reach the capabilities of what it was really capable of. I decided to build a Voron 2.4. Learned so much in the process about corexy and klipper in general. I put close to 2,000 print hours on it. But I wanted to try something new after I grew bored.
I joined the Annex Engineering K3 beta for a crossed gantry printer. Completed the first one outside of the dev team and set to tune it. A bit of a beast to square away, but now printing at fantastic quality and speeds. So much to learn in the 3dprinting community and excited to see where it all goes.

This is a functional object at 12,000 mm/s acceleration and around 250mm/s print speed. 0.2 layer height, ABS.
Due to the nature of this machine, it easily prints at speeds that are difficult to hit on many other printing platforms. This is one of the benefits of the crossed gantry design.
