Instead of closing strong, the series spends much of its final two episodes setting up for a potential second season that may or may not happen. The result is a lot of predictable story beats and a survival rate for the main cast that feels a little too neat for an Alien story.Still, there were moments they enjoyed: the shot of the adults locked away in the cage with the kids running the show and Wendy’s bond with her pet Xenomorphs, which brought some unique flavor to the world-building. But overall, it felt like eight episodes just weren’t enough. He found a lot more to appreciate this time around, especially in a tense, uncomfortable dinner scene that he gushes about in the episode. Tom Cruise Keeps American Made in the Air | Forgotten Cinema Forgotten Cinema 2025-09-03 | This week on Forgotten Cinema, the Mikes take off with "American Made" (2017), starring Tom Cruise as Barry Seal, a pilot who gets tangled up in smuggling, the CIA, and more money than he can carry.Both Butler and Field agree the movie is a fun ride, but it’s one that relies almost entirely on Cruise’s charm to keep it in the air. The film never really establishes a sense of risk or conflict, even as Barry’s world spins out of control.
