In Da Mood - CombustiblesA Better Way To Place Text On A Circle In InkscapeLogos By Nick2023-09-21 | You may have already known about wrapping text around a circle in Inkscape using the "Put On Path" function, but the problem with that approach is that it tends to place the text at a random point on the circle. To get the text perfectly centered along the top or bottom you will have to rotate the circle and use a horizontal guide for reference.
In this tutorial though I'll be showing you an easier method that automatically places the text directly in the center of the path so that you don't have to rotate it manually.

In Da Mood - CombustiblesA Better Way To Make Dashed & Dotted Lines In InkscapeLogos By Nick2023-09-17 | When making dashed and dotted lines in Inkscape, you would typically use the Dashes setting in the Fill & Stroke menu. The problem with this approach is that it produces dashes that are often asymmetrical relative to the object they're being applied to. Using the Dashes path effect instead is a better option because it provides more granular control over the dashes, allowing you to produce a more refined dashed or dotted line.

Illustrator's Blend Tool allows you to make all kinds of creative drawings by duplicating copies of objects along a specified path. Inkscape doesn't have a blend tool, but it does come with a couple of extensions that, when used in tandem, will allow you to mimic the effects of the blend tool in Inkscape.
The extensions we'll be going over in this tutorial are the Scatter extension and the Interpolate extension.

Although Inkscape is a vector design app, that doesn't mean that it can't edit photos as well. In fact, Inkscape handles certain photo editing tasks with more ease than many pixel-based editors. One such example would be when applying color overlays to photos, which we'll be going over in this tutorial. We will accomplish this in two ways-- using blend modes and by using the built-in Duochrome filter,

To fix this problem, all you have to do is pull the menu out by clicking and dragging it and the tools are then placed into multiple vertical columns, allowing you to access them.
If you're not able to pull your menu out like this then be sure to upgrade to the latest version of Inkscape here: inkscape.org/release
Additionally, you may notice that some of your system tools are missing from the toolbar at the top of your screen. This is because of a layout change in the latest version of Inkscape that now places those tools on the right-hand side of your screen by default.
To revert back to the classic mode, all you have to do is disable Wide Screen mode by going to View and deselecting Wide Screen, and then your system tools should accessible.
