Oh well, may as well take advantage of the time I have.As a part of the semi-passive-aggressive update to Vargskeleventures to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of Joel not playing it, I'm planning on adding a few new things to the game. One of these is a fight with Joel's bandmate, Frank. Obviously, being a metal band, it was only fitting I try my hand at doing some metal-style composition. To do this, I made use of the basic MIDI power drums and the Genesis Guitars from Thunder Force IV. Again, like last time, I'm not _100%_ sure I'll be able to get the update out before Joey plays it - but if past patterns are anything to go off, I've got at least another two-to-three years before he gets to the art backlog.

ULTRAKILL Chiptune Arrange - Full Prelude OST || SUMAP 2.1 Snarfnpoots 2024-02-24 | A complete chiptune arrangement of the first four prelude tracks of Ultrakill. Think of this as me testing the waters before I continue on and arrange the rest of ACT I: INFINITE HYPERDEATH. I'm intending on doing one "batch" of remixes for each act of the game. Of course, since the soundtracks for acts 1 and 2 are _significantly_ longer than the prelude's, it will likely be quite some time before the continuation of this series sees the light of day.(That, and I also have other projects I want to work on simultaneously as well as studying)This is quite a bit different to what I normally do, as most of my previous arrangements focus on melody-driven tunes, whereas Ultrakill is very percussion-based and uses a much larger variety of sounds.Another interesting challenge was figuring out ways to do the "ambient" parts of the soundtrack (namely the intro of "Into the Fire") which forced me to experiment with sounds I would otherwise never really use.I'm aware that there are many, _many_ pre-existing chiptune arranges of Ultrakill's soundtrack, but I wanted to try and throw my two ultracents in and try to add my own unique takes on each one. I think that as this project progresses, the tracks will get progressively better from my end.As for the pixelart, though, I don't know if I'll ever get properly good at that ;-_-I hope everyone enjoys this little beta-test/appetizer for the future music to come!

Vargskeleventures Bonus Track - Draw my Darkness (Original Composition) Snarfnpoots 2023-11-01 | I was planning to make an anniversary update for Vargskeleventures with a few new additions to the game - one of which was a new boss - Bleeding Kagutsuchi. Unfortunately, I don't know if I'm gonna be able to finish the update before Joey gets to it, therefore I'm uploading the theme for the fight anyways.This is a very experimental track. The bassline you hear is actually just the sampled sound of Venus. Like, the _actual_ planet Venus. The choir is sampled from Heroes 3, as are a few other sounds used in the track. The problem with the song being mostly samples is that it was very hard to tune - in fact, I'm not even sure I tuned everything properly. That being said, I think it turned out well enough to warrant a video of its own. Hope you enjoy!
Childish War Miscellaneous Arrange Snarfnpoots 2023-08-28 | Featuring the 12.5% square wave as Kagamine Rin and the 25% square wave as Kagamine Lem. This arrange was also made for my friends' birthdays alongside the Danganronpa mashup. Of course, this one is much different to the usual chiptune arranges I do, hence the name "Miscellaneous" because I made this with everything I had lying around on my computer - namely the Amen Break, a Sega Genesis soundfont, the usual 8-bit wave plugins, and of course, a singular sample of Lil' John. Again, this was uploaded at the request of my friends.

THE GLACIAL FORTRESS (Yousuke Yasui Ver.) || Omega Five Chiptune Arrange (SUMAP 01-BONUS) Snarfnpoots 2023-03-21 | For the final track in the first "season" of SUMAP, I decided to arrange Yousuke Yasui's version of the Glacial Fortress from Omega Five. Obviously, it's not from Eschatos, so I classified this as a bonus track rather than a part of the other arranges thus far. Special shoutouts to ShinkoNet. I generally try to avoid using other people's MIDIs in my work, but the solo at the end was impossible for me to figure out, so a huge thanks to them for having it all available online.This marks the end of my arranges for a while. This one took a very long time, by the end of the project this thing had 27 tracks in it. I tried to make Extermination as unique as I could, considering I already did a pseudo-arrange of it in Vargskeleventures and wanted to avoid doing the same thing again.In terms of SUMAP as a whole, there's only one more song I want to do. It won't be from Eschatos, but it will be from Yousuke Yasui. I'm leaning towards either SUPER REFLEX or his arrange of the Glacial Fortress. Either way, it'll be the last one for a while, but I hope these will be suitable!
