Thanks for stopping by today! I apologize for my voice sounding raspy in the video--not sure what is going on!
I shared a card I made on Facebook and several of you wanted to see how I made it. I found that having my card stock pre-cut will save me time when recording and who really wants to watch us cut and fold card stock anyway? The only portion where I share some scoring is for the pop-up mechanism.
Bear in mind that the pop-up mechanism that measures 2" by 7.5" can be any size you want it to be. I used a piece of 3" by 7.5" in the other two examples I share where the center piece is more triangular in shaped cards. The scoring will be the same--you just want to make sure that the pop-up mechanism is hidden behind your center die cut piece. If you wanted, you can also use a clear piece of acetate to make the pop-up mechanism so that if you used a stamped panel in the back or a piece of patterned paper like I did, you'll be able to see more of that instead of covering it up. I just didn't want to risk it falling off or not being sturdy enough.
Below are some of the products I use in the video. If you don't see something here that I showed in the video, it means I couldn't find it but definitely read the comments as some folks are real sleuths and can find anything.

#cardmaking #spellbinders #popupThe SECRET to Making 2-for-1 Diamond Shaped Greeting Cards! 💎💼 | Free Template Download! 😱 💌Kathya Kalinine2024-05-17 | Hi Crafty Friends!
Thanks for stopping by! I've seen a few card makers make these fun 'diamond fold' cards, and I love them, but when I've watched a few of them, I notice that they're only using 1 half of a sheet of card stock. I like to make multiples at a time, so I found a way to score first and then cut. That will provide you with two card bases. And, hey, if you're not feeling the need to make two cards at once, you can always save the other card base for another time.

I have a fun video to share with you that may be helpful if you like to color small die cuts and mass produce cards. I realize there are sticky grid mats out there that are on the market and I actually have one and haven't used it yet! I wanted to offer another way to keep a template on hand that you can keep with your die cuts and use whenever you want! These are some of the product links (*affiliate*) I use and mention in the video in case you want to purchase:

NO Re-Inker? *YOU MUST TRY THIS!!!* 💦💦🙌🏻Kathya Kalinine2024-04-13 | Hey, Crafty Friends! I'm hopping on this channel to let you know that there is an interim fix for you if you DON'T have a reinker for a dried out ink pad. I did mention in the video and I'll say it here, that this is not for everyone. I'm sure I'll get some comments telling me that this will damage/destroy your ink pads. Personally, I don't think it will, but I respect EVERYONE'S opinion and you're welcome to share yours here on this platform--as long as you're kind to me and fellow crafters who leave a comment.
The affiliate links to products I used in this video (aside from the ink pads themselves) are as follows:
Fine Mist Spray Bottle (not exact same as mine, but same concept at a great price): amzn.to/3VSiN3X Vegetable Glycerin (not exact same as mine, but a perfect size at a great price): amzn.to/4aVYIhx
You can use any type of palette knife to work in the water and glycerine, but you want to use gentle pressure so you don't accidentally cut into your ink pad.
I hope you found this helpful. Please let me know in the comments if you plan to start using this method to re-moisten your dry ink pads! Craft hugs!

I have a short video for you today and hopefully, it will change the way you use your die cuts when you have multiple colors of card stock. I don't like using anti-static powder on the back of tape when I group my die cuts together, so I found another way to keep like-colored dies together with tape and something you already have at home!
As I mention in the video, perhaps I've been hiding under a rock and many of you already do this, but I just tested it and love using my dies this way now. I don't really have a card tutorial to share but I have a card to show you using the new-to-me technique using these dies from Fantasy Flower from Alex Syberia Designs.
I wound up using just white card stock and used my new Ohuhu alcohol markers to color the floral die cuts. I used a beautiful glitter pen to color in the etched portions of the die cut pieces.

Use Designer Napkins & Dies for STUNNING Cards! 🤩🫶🏻Kathya Kalinine2023-11-08 | In today's video, I'm going to show you how EASY it is to make stunning cards using your stash of paper napkins and patterned paper!
I've seen a lot of tutorials where people use patterned paper or napkins for backgrounds and some even add glitter. But what about adhering beautiful napkins to simple shaped die cuts? This technique couldn't be more simple and you'll love the "wow!" effect you get when you add gloss on top. Or, you can use packing tape or large sheets of clear sticker paper.
In this video, I use my favorite gloss glaze (an economic sized bottle and lasts a LONG time!) and some inexpensive Dollar Tree packing tape. It is an inexpensive brand so it was somewhat easy to cut, but if you use a more expensive brand that offers great strength, you may find it a bit of a challenge to cut. If you do, I recommend using a good cutting plate for intricate die cuts (listed below).

That’s by creating a ‘stop block’ so you don’t have to line up your paper each time. Sometimes you’ll measure on the line, or slightly off. This way, you’ll be able to align your card stock up to the ‘stop block’ and cut knowing your paper will be cut to the exact same edge!
In this video, I used a very thin ruler. You could also stack three pieces of card stock and use that. As long as what you use is thicker than the card stock you’re cutting.
I’m very new to shorts so bear with the long silence at the end. Thanks for clicking the Like Button! :)

The card measurements will result in a card that fits nicely in an A2 (5.5" X 4.25") size envelope. Start with these measurements:
Start with 8.5" by 11" eighty pound card stock. On the 11" side, cut to 9.5" The size you should have is now 8.5" X 9.5" On the 9.5" side, score at .5", 1-¼", 3 ¼, and 4" On the 8 ½" side, cut to 4 ¼" - You now have TWO Pop-Up Box cards!
Decorate as you wish! You can use embossing folders and decorate the background, the sides (¾" on each side) and the 2" panel that pops up on the front portion of the 'box' that allows your card to stand up on display nicely!
If you don't love having the pop-up box portion on the left, simply flip it upside down and display that way instead!

#interactivecards #sharehandmadekindness #papercraftLayered Die Cuts the EASY Way! #shortsKathya Kalinine2023-04-10 | #shorts
Layered die cuts offer great dimension to your card projects. This is the easiest and fastest way to layer four pieces of lighter weight card stock.
Liquid glue will not work for this technique (except at the end when you’re adhering the layered die cuts together). You can also use adhesive tape but using a tape runner is faster and less bulky.

You won’t have to deal with all the messiness that comes with the traditional way to melt the wax beads by using a tea light or a standard candle.
I have always loved the art of wax sealing envelopes. In my younger days, I used to do calligraphy and create wax seals for envelopes using wax sticks that had the wick in the center. They still make those, by the way, but wax seals have come a long way, and I’m having so much fun creating these fun card embellishments and wanted them to take center stage on the front of a card.
When I bought a kit about 6 or 7 months ago, I played around with the kit and made a few wax seals. But the soot that is left on the back of the spoon drives me batty and I ruined a couple of card panels because I wasn’t careful and got soot on them, too. So I put away my new craft goodies and saved it for another rainy day when I built up more patience. Fast forward to today…I found such a neat way to melt the wax that doesn’t get messy from soot!win-win! Yes, melting the wax itself is messy at times, but this method minimizes the frustration because you don’t have to deal with soot from a burning candle!
If you’re interested in any of the items I’m using in the video, please head to my website where you can see pictures of the products so you know what you’re getting if you decide to make a purchase.

I am NO engineer like Jennifer, but I found a way to make two cards and the insert with just one piece of 8.25" by 11" 80 pound card stock. This is super simple and uses no hinges--it's all one piece and you get 2 of them from one piece of card stock!
I also am providing a free guide that you can download and use any time you want to make some of these types of cards. They take less time because you're setting up that piece of card stock to be cut and scored all at once.
Did you know I'm on Instagram, too!? I don't have a lot of followers but would love it if you followed me there, too. I am trying to be more mindful of posting more often, so that is the goal. If you download the template and have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me! I'll help guide you as best I can. If you try to make this pop out card using the template, be sure to tag me in social media.

Thanks for stopping by my channel. I’m delighted to share this fantastic craft glass board mat with you at a discount. The wonderful and generous folks at Glass Board Studio (glassboardstudio.com/collections/glass-craft-mats) sent me this glass mat to try out. I was able to work with the team to ask for a slightly different design that includes a radius in the center. The design I helped create isn’t yet on their website, but if you want my particular design with the radial degrees, please reach out to orders@glassboardstudio.com, mention my name or YouTube channel and ask for this particular design. But, if you’d rather have a different design (my feelings won’t be hurt!!!), you can still use my discount code KATHYA20 and the purchase you make will be credited to me. If you do make a purchase, please email me kathya444 at Comcast.net
In light of the horrible situation in Ukraine, I wanted to find a way to help Yana Smakula purchase much-needed essentials for those in need. I have reached out to the owners of Glassboard Studio to ask for any funds that would otherwise go to me to go to Yana’s charity instead. I do not have all the details sorted out yet, but after reaching out to Jennifer McGuire, she graciously offered to help spread the word to find ways to support all the wonderful efforts Yana is doing to support her family, friends and fellow citizens in Ukraine who desperately need our help. If you want to help support the cause and you would like to buy one of these amazing craft glass boards, please use my code KATHYA20. Let them know that you’d like to have a portion of the sale go to Yana’s charity. I will work with these kind owners to find a way to donate a portion of any purchase you make using my code to go to Yana. If you do decide to make a purchase, please email me kathya444 at Comcast.net so I can figure out a way to make all this happen.
If you don’t need or want a craft glass board, please head to Yana’s website to learn more about her humanitarian efforts. Her latest update is here with information on how to help: yanasmakula.com/support-ukraine-update-2

In this video, I’ll show you how you can make your own Gilding Wax or Rub n Buff. You can use this gilding wax to bring out beautiful details on your embossed card stock and even die cuts! I’m using gorgeous Arteza Mica Powders that I purchased almost two years ago. The sparkle and shimmer in these powders are simply beautiful and eye-catching. I don’t know what took me so long to use them! Arteza sells variations to what I purchased, and you can find the links below to what are comparable.
If you don’t want to invest in mica powders, try using your old eye shadow and mixing it! You will come up with some very comparable results. I hope you found this helpful and like the results. The color choices using this method are endless! You can, obviously, use this method on chalk painted furniture as well. You will absolutely love using this stuff!

NO CLING WRAP!Kathya Kalinine2021-03-31 | #Kali9Designs #napkincards #napkinart
In this video, I’m going to share the napkin technique with you that if you haven’t tried yet, you will LOVE! And no, you won’t get wrinkles and you don’t need cling wrap! I saw a talented crafter who shared this method on her channel but placed the napkins on drinking coasters instead of a card panel.
If you want a more in-depth detailed version of this napkin technique, check out Iveta Ziedina of Dainty Gifts. Her channel is filled with lots of tutorials of gorgeous decoupage work that you might like. The napkin technique Iveta shares is here: youtu.be/Cf-5MeaIC38
I wanted to try this method on card stock and try to get the same smooth results. I’m hooked! It’s a bit on the time-consuming side meaning you have to wait for the card stock to dry once finished, but it’s so worth the wait. The results are super smooth—it almost looks like you have card stock with an image from your napkin and it has this beautiful velvet like texture.
If you want to check out some napkins that don’t require a major investment to have many of the same kind, search the term “Decoupage Napkins” in Etsy. There are so many vendors selling them in packets with several designs. You will have a blast looking at all the options! This is a new take on the former "Simple Circle Creator" and it's professionally manufactured right here in the USA! (I'm very proud of that part!). Shipping this Item outside the United States is cost prohibitive, unfortunately, so I can only send to crafters In the USA.
Please send me an email: Kathya444 @ comcast dot net and I will follow up with details.
Pricing is mentioned in the video, so watch until the end so you can find out how to order one. Also, for more details, you can head over to my blog (kali9designs.blogspot.com) and I share some info there, too.
****UPDATE**** Please note that although I mention that I ship outside of the USA, I was completely shocked at how expensive the shipping costs are, despite the lightweight material. If you live outside of the USA, please stand by for an update on finding a way to ship these overseas in a more economical manner. Apologies for any disconnect! 😞💖

Today's video is about #Summer and a fun #interactivecard using SVG files and creating #handmadecards! I am so ready for some sunshine and warm weather! I'm collaborating on the summer theme with Amber Rain Davis. Here's a link to her channel:
Amber is extremely talented and posts so many of her gorgeous creations on Instagram, too. Be sure to check out her website: www.notableink.com for more ways to connect with her. Hugs Amber!!! This collab was so fun!
I created this SVG file that will let you make these glasses any size you want--perfect for cards, scrapbook pages, or even 'real' glasses--just die cut, stack and adhere. Attach some strips of paper to go over your ears and presto! Faux glasses!!! They would be perfect for photos. Decorate with flowers, feathers, animals--the sky's the limit!

In this video, I will share how I made two fun Slimline card envelopes. Since slimline cards are all trendy now, we need envelopes, right? To make it easier for you, I’m providing this FREE two page PDF template for you to download and use as a reference.
One template provides scoring and cutting guidelines for a top folding envelope and the other for a side folding version. The template uses one sheet of 8.5” by 11” piece of paper. The finished envelope will fit a finished card size of 3.75” X 8.75” nicely.

Hey Friends!
In this video, I’m sharing how I created a DIY turnabout template for small stamps. If you’ve ever wanted to create your own patterned paper using some of your smaller (and for me, neglected!) stamps that don’t get any love. But, today, I’ll teach you how to make your own turnabout stamp template using things you already have at home!
If you don’t have a laminator, no worries! Just use some clear packing tape and that will help with keeping it free from ink. And don’t worry if the tape slightly overlaps because you’re only using the template to position your stamps—then, once you’ve adhered them to your stamp platform, then you can remove it and begin stamping!
I hope you try this DIY turnabout template and have fun with your stamps and create some awesome backgrounds! If you do make one of these, I hope you’ll tag me on social media. The links are below.

This video is about 3 More Card Making Hacks that will BLOW your Mind!...Seriously! Stick around to the last one because it's my favorite out of all of them and I think you'll really love it, too. Be sure to leave a comment and tell me which one is your favorite!
I hope you're all doing well and perhaps unleash some creativity using some of your favorite and unused stamps and dies you haven't yet opened. Who has some unopened products (insert Kathya raising her hand here!). I'm so guilty of this but honestly, I'm grateful to have more quality time with my family--including my favorite Miniature Australian Labradoodle, Baxter, our furry baby!
I hope you have a crafty and amazing day while you’re doing your part to #StayHome.
In this video, I’m excited to share the technique called “Alcohol Ink Bubbles” or “Bubble Art.” If you search those terms on YouTube, you will find some amazing artists who show you the same steps I’m using to create these bubble-like patterns using glass jars, votive holders, glasses, etc. I wanted to put my own spin on things by using foil instead of white markers. So, I opened up my new We R Memory Keepers Freestyle Foil Pens. They are great fun and I love the gorgeous gold foil contrast with the blue and purple shades of the ink.
If you’re curious about how to make your own ink blending solution, search that term here on YouTube. There are fantastic alcohol ink artists who make their own versions and are budget friendly. So, if you don’t have any blending solution, rather than go out and buy some, #stayhome, be safe and make your own! I believe that I saw an artist indicating that you can mix approximately 9 drops of vegetable glycerine into 3 ounces of 99% isopropyl alcohol.
In February of 2020, I wasn’t even at 1,000 subscribers. I was going to have a giveaway because I almost reached that milestone. Well, I posted a hack video not too long after that which catapulted me not only to 1,000 subscribers but well beyond and I’m just approaching 4,000 subscribers! I’ve been on YouTube for a while now and love posting videos…but they take time. And I work full time, so I don’t always get to film and post as often as I’d like. But, I THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for joining me here and subscribing, liking and commenting! I craft alone but through this platform, I get to create, share and engage with you all and that brings me great joy!

Thanks so much for joining me today! Today my card is featuring #layereddies that I created using the software for my Scan N Cut die cutting machine. I've recently been obsessed with layered cover dies and I figured out a way to make my own, so I'm thrilled to be able to share one of them featured in this video! This starburst design has to be one of my new favorites. I will show you how to blend ink using make up brushes and add dimension, glitter and gems to really jazz this card up.
If you are interested in being considered for winning a prize, you need to comment on as many videos as possible along the hop and include your country. The more you comment, the better your chances are of winning some great products! All comments on the hop are due no later than April 5th. Prizes will be drawn on April 10th.
I'm offering a really cute stamp set that is not mentioned in the video, but darling just the same. If you have not yet subscribed, be sure to hit that button so you don't miss any future videos!
Oh! If you are interested in purchasing the cut file I created, please head to my Etsy shop shown below in the links section!
