I'm aware that this vid is probably all kinds of fail, since I haven't made a trailer before, but I tried!! I hope his "sense"/story isn't too lame. I was going to do something with Jane Porter with Smith as her husband since she was in that scene, too, but someone else took her, and I hadn't claimed her, so I changed directions ... I claimed John and gave him a dog ... I hope that's okay. I don't know why Sasha came to mind, but I hadn't used her yet, and she's one of my favorites, so I decided to go with it. {DHS} Youre a criminal ... || Jane x Tulio destinydeceived 2015-12-14 | Yep, I was on a roll, so I signed up for another one. First finished crossover in how many years now?? I'm still so, so rusty. It has a bit of a story, but I hope it should be mostly simple to follow.So Jane and Tulio are in a relationship, but Tulio never told Jane that he was a wanted man; a thief and a con-artist. Jane discovers a wanted poster depicting Tulio, and confronts him about it. He attempts to brush it off as no big deal, but Jane isn't buying it. She thinks back on how they met, and now feels like perhaps stealing her heart had been another of his cons. Tulio tries to convince her that isn't so, but she no longer trusts him, and he eventually leaves. It turns out that, before she saw how bad Tulio felt about misleading her, she'd spitefully tipped off the police about him. When Jane hears he's been arrested, she regrets what she did and tries to stop it, but she's too late, and has to live with that guilt. The guards drag her off, but later she goes to visit him in jail to apologize ... however, the damage is already done.A little easter-egg you might have noticed: I made the wanted poster in Spanish. {DHS} Still Worthy || Mulan&Shang destinydeceived 2015-12-14 | So I got a bit excited about being invited back to DHS even after such a long dry spell of editing, AND about trying out xXAmity0ParkXx's awesome coloring tutorial, so I snagged a part in this canon couples MEP that I knew I could do pretty quickly. I just didn't know HOW quickly. Seriously, this has to be one of my fastest turnaround times. I could have chosen one of my more favorite couples, but honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the song (well, it's grown on me a bit now...), so I grabbed a part that I didn't hate and picked the couple that went with it. And I'm glad I did because Mulan and Shang don't exactly feature in Disney couples videos all that much, AND this turned out really pretty imo.I followed Amity's "Bluejacket" coloring from one of her recent tutorial videos (here: youtube.com/watch?v=uXAEdeWcTGI), and tweaked it to adapt for AfterEffects and bring out the reds/violets instead, for maximum romance xD. plus I ended up using the transition technique she used in the tutorial, just with my favorite subtle sparkly clip underneath instead ... Unfortunately, it's another sad one. 8vThis started as a vent for my own depression, which is part of the reason for my long absence. However, I am sort of incapable of spontaneity so vents are not really my thing, and it became a full-blown project ... but it still has a sort of personal feel to it. Nobody gets to a happy ending in this video, everything falls apart, and dreams die. "I shot for the sky, I'm stuck on the ground." I came so far, only to fall right back to where I started. So yeah. You live to run away ... [Sixth Sense: Johns Past] destinydeceived 2011-03-06 | In which I show off John's badass side, and reveal things about his parents that even he doesn't know. Read to understand, please! WARNING: there's a sex scene between John's parents. Nothing too graphic, though. PART 1: When John was wandering around trying to scrape a living years after his mother's death, he came across a military camp in the desert. Normally, he would have avoided it like the plague, since he already knew the Government meant trouble for "gifted" individuals, but he heard something that shook him to the core, and had to act. He heard the desperate cries of wild horses that had been rounded up to be used as cavalry mounts, and the Colonel was in charge of breaking them. John was used to there being an inherent distinction between a wild animal and a domesticated one: a wild animal having as much freedom and autonomy as a human, with an unbreakable spirit that was to be revered. So, when he heard wild horses being broken, it gave him the shock of his life to witness such cruelty. He confronted the Colonel, who dismissed him without a second thought. John decided to defy him. He snuck around the fort and waited for the opportune moment to release the horses, blowing the lock off the stable door with a gunshot. The horses escaped, but the Colonel drew a gun on John. Finally having some fear knocked into him, John bolted as the Colonel prepared to fire. Instead of going after him then and there, the Colonel would put a bounty on John's head. John had ruined his life, ensuring he would be demoted for the loss of the horses, but the Colonel vowed to ruin John's in return. John told Grandmother Willow what happened, who scolded him for drawing so much attention. He didn't think anything bad would happen, but when he went into town, he found the Wanted posters. So, he decided to get as far away as he could, and hopped on the back of a train. The years that followed were a blur, in which he traveled restlessly, never stopping anywhere long enough to get attached. PART 2: Flash back to before John was born. It's in blurred black and white because it's a story that John himself isn't aware of. We learn how his parents met, and who they are. His mother was a peasant woman named Cassandra (Cass for short) Smith. Cass was kind, fun-loving, and curious to a fault. One fateful winter day she saw a mysterious man materialize out of the snowy wind, and was terrified and fascinated by him. ((The character used to represent him is Prince Vladimir from a Russian animated movie that I found. It's beautiful ... I just wish I spoke Russian. The movie is called "Knyaz Vladimir.")) At a celebration in town, they met again, and she asked him to dance. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and they ended up sleeping together. Eventually, he revealed to her that he was Boreas, the Greek god of the North Wind. They were very much in love, but Boreas had to return to his place among the gods. Cass was heartbroken, but knew he would never be able to stay. On a side note, I don't think Boreas will ever reveal himself to John or have any sort of influential role in the story. He's a very minor god, so his interests aren't as far-reaching as the others we've seen in Sixth Sense. He keeps to himself, mostly. PART 3: Set two years ago, when John came across the Gypsies. Tzipporah's father welcomed him, and they accepted him into their society. They taught him their ways, and John adopted them. He was pretty much a gypsy already by lifestyle, but it was a new experience for him to become part of their culture. For the first time, he felt a sense of belonging, and was truly happy. He became close friends with Tzipporah, and the attraction between them grew steadily and subtly (at least to them. To everyone else it was probably painfully obvious.) So yeah. That's John's past. Or at least as much of it as I could possibly put into video form. Hope you enjoy it! Its taken much too long ... [Sixth Sense] destinydeceived 2011-02-28 | THE PLOT: Tzipporah has come across the trio in the forest, and Garrett attacks her at first, knocking her into the river. John stops him, and apologizes to her. Tzipporah says she has something to tell John, but suddenly, Eris appears, and is furious.The next part isn't shown, but it is in Tao's video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcxPsEXusJg ), Eris doesn't want Tzi to tell John about their deal, but Tzi reminds her that keeping it a secret wasn't part of the agreement. Bitterly, Eris mentions the other secret Tzi has been keeping from John as she disappears: the Colonel's abuse of her. Of course, Garrett and Amalthea are a bit insensitive when discussing the matter, and John is outraged. Tzi is annoyed that they're talking about her like she isn't there, and blurts out that despite what happened, she's fallen in love with John.Now feeling a little ashamed, Tzi retreats from the group a bit when John approaches her and asks her to come with him. He takes her aside behind some trees, and Amalthea and Garrett manage to give them some privacy. John is in shock, and has a few choice words for the Colonel. He swears he'll kill the man one day, and promises Tzipporah he'll never let him hurt her again. He professes his love to her, and they kiss. Meanwhile, Sasha has been traveling with Meg's hummingbird friend Flit looking for John, and they come across the couple. John hears Sasha, and is elated to see her. Garrett, on the other hand, is frustrated that they keep being found, and talks to her like he would any other dog. This annoys Amalthea, as a fellow animal, and she tells him to stop patronizing her. Sasha is actually surprised she understands her, saying she's quite used to being spoken to that way, and asks if she's like John. Amalthea replies by showing Sasha her true form, and Sasha is astonished to see a unicorn, pulling out all the manners. Amalthea has lost some of her identity by now, though, especially after healing Garrett, and has a more casual attitude. She introduces Garrett and Tzipporah to Sasha. Not shown, but Sasha tells them about Megara and that she knows where to find her. Elsewhere, Gabrielle has been transformed into a doppelganger of Megara by Lady Tremaine, who intends to use the woman as a trap to lure our trio and other gifted individuals back into captivity. The group is camped out in the forest near a waterfall, and everyone is sleeping except for Tzi, who is bathing, and John, who is being overprotective of his wife. Garrett wakes up at the sound of someone approaching, which John managed not to hear because he was lost in thought. Amalthea instinctively hides in the bushes, since she is in her unicorn form at the moment. The stranger introduces herself as Megara, and Sasha immediately thinks something's not right. Flit is overjoyed to see Meg again, but Sasha's suspicions are only furthered by "Megara"'s reaction to the bird's affection. Gabrielle is just winging it, and doesn't really know anything about what Meg acts like or who she's met, so she plays along uncertainly when John mentions that she already knows Flit. Trying to seem more genuine and gain sympathy, she shares a bit about her own past, namely Miguel. At this point, Sasha is certain that this isn't the real Megara, and she lets John know loud and clear. Garrett and Sasha, I imagine, wouldn't get along so well, but this time Garrett agrees with her. I don't know if Isa wanted Garrett's senses to be quite this heightened, but I added that he could tell from vibrations in the ground that "Megara" was lying. Anyway, Gabrielle wasn't expecting to be called out, and doesn't know what else to say, so she caves and tells the truth. Xena, watching from a distance, is saddened that she might have to betray her friend now that she's sided with the gifted, and leaves. John apologizes for what is about to happen, and turns to Garrett, who already knew what he had to do. He tells everyone to stand back and wipes the last 24 hours of Gabrielle's memory. For some reason, upon doing this, Lady Tremaine's spell wears off, and Gabrielle's true form is revealed as she faints. Tzipporah, Sasha, and Flit have never seen Garrett use his powers, so they're a bit shocked, but Garrett reassures them that she'll be all right. Leaving Gabrielle behind so they can escape, they move on to continue their journey. They wander around a while to make sure they lose the hunters, but after they're satisfied no one will come after them, Sasha and Flit lead them to Giselle's cottage where they knew Megara was staying. However, when they get there, the cottage is empty, and there's nothing to tell them where they've gone. Video ends with John looking confused as he enters, not knowing what to do next. What Sasha doesn't know is that Giselle has been captured by Tiana, and Megara has gone off to look for her.
A Sixth Sense Wedding - Happy Valentines Day destinydeceived 2011-02-14 | Well, here it is, the mysterious third SS video I've been working on. Behold: John and Tzipporah's wedding!!! I was originally going to include more characters in a slightly bigger ceremony (Ariel, Tiana, Jim, Gabrielle, Meg, Giselle), but I think Tao decided they were going to tie the knot before meeting Gabrielle, finding Meg, or reuniting with more friends ... also Tiana has taken Giselle to Govt. HQ, Ariel is in Eros' fishbowl, and Jim is dealing with keeping the Colonel off Tzipporah's trail, and even if they had met Gabrielle she would probably have to go back to working for the hunters ... so it wouldn't be possible for them to be there. *sad* I have another version of it with the others, which I really liked, but I guess after all that's happened and is still happening, John and Tzi would be anxious to get married before it's too late. Eris is there, however, because they owe her more than they know ... see Tao's "Quiet Like the Snow" video ... and she seems to have a soft spot for Tzi. Also, the manip at the end was totally inspired by Tao. I just gave it my own twist and slapped it on at the end of this video. Credit goes to her. Sixth Sense CRACK - Im not being defensive ... destinydeceived 2010-12-29 | WHAT?? Katie made a CRACK video!?!?!?! Um ... so, I was working on a serious Sixth Sense vid (dead serious ... the song I'm trying to use is called "Gravity" for crying out loud), and was getting stuck ... and then Lan (czarownicykot // Dimitri) uploaded her ULTIMATE CRACK vid ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwI5inI8yHc ), casting John as none other than the Sassy Gay Friend. Now, it's supposed to be Sauda's (Saudathealienwazhere // Moses) dastardly sex-god Eros taking on John's appearance, but it still scarred the poor man for life. Now he's being a little sensitive on the subject of his sexuality. He's completely straight, and madly in love with Tzipporah, but he's understandably a little disturbed right now. Soooo ... I thought of this. Not exactly the best retort, but the only one I could think of. *fails at comedy*I know Garrett and Dimitri haven't -actually- met yet, but since their meeting seems to be imminent, I figured casting Dim as the "gay guy on the subway" was appropriate. Also used that clip from Pocahontas 2 to open because it's the only time Mr. Smith here gets anywhere near a book. I KNOW he's literate. Historically he wrote his accounts of his adventures. But yeah, he doesn't seem to take much time for reading. Belle would not approve. This is my first attempt at actual humor, also first time trying to lip-sync, so be gentle on me ... I clung desperately to my crossover manip skillz to make this seem remotely good. I would have continued with the actual song, but this seemed to cover it, and to be honest I was worried it would turn out worse than this is. This got blocked pretty much everywhere (including Poland, which was important so Lan could see it), so let's try a pitch change. Secret Santa for xNightshadex // Christmas Fantasmic destinydeceived 2010-12-25 | MERRY CHRISTMAS SHADE!!!! I hope you enjoy this :D So, you usually like crossover, Phoebus x Anya is one of your favorite pairings (mine too!), and you like A Fine Frenzy, so I give you: Non/Disney Crossover - Phoebus and Anya Song: Whisper by A Fine FrenzySo, the storyline for this is that when Anastasia hit her head escaping the Bolsheviks and lost her memory, a young Phoebus (Arthur) found her and took care of her, giving her a fake identity to protect her. They had become close friends, Anya looking up to him as her hero, and Phoebus being very protective of her. But he knew that as a scrawny newly-homeless teenager (he gets separated from his parents in the revolution), he could barely take care of himself, let alone the lost Russian princess. He took her to the orphanage, and promised her he would return someday, when he could afford to provide for her, and went back to France to become a soldier. Ten years pass, and Phoebus returns to Russia, meeting Anya on the road as she leaves the orphanage. Anya is shocked to see him, as she had begun lose hope that he would ever come back. He takes her to the old palace, and tells her the truth about her identity. She is confused, and angry with him at first, but he reassures her that he did the only thing he could to keep her safe, and now wants to help her find her family. This would be just the beginning of their adventures together, to be continued someday, I hope! This is my first time editing with the Sword in the Stone, but it seems like a lot of people enjoy the idea of Arthur as a young Phoebus, myself included, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Also, this ended up being a very Phoebus-centric gift, since he was my character for the exchange, but I know that Shade likes him as much as I do, so I hope my funny little intro (that is conspicuously missing the Sorcerer Mickey to represent Magician's Assistant Christmas Fantasmic people) is enjoyable. I don't like to perpetuate the "stupid Phoebus" stereotype, but it's just tooo easy!
CHASING LIGHTS [[ john smith - sixth sense ]] destinydeceived 2010-11-21 | [[Long description should explain things, so read if you're confused.]]My inner perfectionist wants to stab this video, but the other half of me is excited for the story to continue. Also, John is a bit emo in this vid. If it seems slightly out of character to you, don't worry, I feel the same way. So anyway, a few days ago, Aikyoo posted her follow up for Amalthea, in which the unicorn sets herself, along with John and Garrett, free. I continued my story from there. The three of them as a team seemed awesome at first, but as I was editing this I realized they would probably have some differences of opinion they'd need to sort out, so a large portion of this turned into them arguing amongst themselves. It's New Year's Eve. The three of them escape the prison camp, and run into the forest. There, Garrett says his goodbyes, thinking they intend to split up, since he stands alone and all. John tries to convince him to stick with them, but Garrett thinks it unwise to travel with a unicorn. After all, they don't want to call attention to themselves. Amalthea laughs at this, and says something that only John understands, before shocking both men by transforming into a woman. Garrett resigns to try the whole teamwork thing out for once. They three enter a pub, order a round of rum on John (as I promised xD), and sit at a table in the back to discuss things. John is worried about Tzipporah, and explains exactly what happened leading up to her escape. When John was taken in for Facilier's testing, Tiana used the opportunity to help Tzipporah escape. What she didn't count on was that Facilier would learn from testing on John that he and Tzipporah had known each other. So, when Facilier found out that Tzipporah had vanished, he immediately suspected that Tiana had conspired with John to free his "long lost love," and attacks her with his shadow demons for punishment. John blames himself for this, because if he'd known what Tiana was planning, he could have warned her about what his memories might reveal. When they try to tell him it's not his fault, it reminds him of how he also blames himself for Tzipporah's capture and the decimation of her people. We see a flashback to this point in his life, that shows him running away after the village was attacked. I like to think there was some time between his stay in Midian and his experiences with Sasha. In TaoStars309's second video, Tzipporah says that she forgives John when they are reunited in the prison camp, but he doesn't yet forgive himself - for leading the government there and for cowardly running away. Amalthea brings up the fact that immortal beings such as herself cannot feel regret, which makes John slightly bitter. He snaps back that she doesn't understand love, thinking to himself about everyone he's loved and lost - his mother (see Persona100Duh's fanfic), Sasha, and Tzipporah (if you couldn't tell, he's in love with her). That thought leads to the others at the prison camp, who didn't get to escape - Mulan and Tiana, trapped in their government jobs; Alice and Eilonwy, sweet little girls (as far as he knows) being recruited for the same; and Robin, the newest arrival who'd confided his story to John. Amalthea argues that she is only responsible for her own fate, and Garrett agrees - that's how he's preferred to live his life - but expresses doubts. John still wants to find Megara, hoping that Sasha and Tzipporah will be with her. Amalthea questions his resolve, but he makes it clear that he wants to stand and fight for freedom, even if it means death. She is a little disconcerted by this, being unfamiliar with mortality, and turns to Garrett for reassurance, since he seems more like-minded to her. He agrees with John, and she is at last convinced. Broken - Non/Disney Couples destinydeceived 2010-11-15 | Just a little something I put together in the past month. I've been trying to do a canon video for a while, but I'm never satisfied with the results. I started one project over 3 times, and another twice. So yeah, I desperately wanted to finish a video, so I started this in the hopes that since it's a simpler, slower song, I would be able to not nitpick at it as much. I focused on the emotion of the song ... heartbreak, desperation ... yeah, I've been in a melancholy mood. And used soo many movies ... o.0 You'd think that more footage would make it easier to edit, but it's the opposite. EDIT: Sorry Germany!!! I should have pitched the song, but I love it too much to change it ... I don't even like the radio version :/ I figured out how to use Motion Blur kind of by accident, so I tested that here. Well, after a lot of searching, I found one with a verse that I thought really described her, and in the chorus I tried to focus on her friendship with Pocahontas, but I'm worried it might have turned out looking like femmeslash, which I didn't intend. Odd. They're my new favorite couple ... I doodle them sooo often! And it's funny that I can just switch them up with Anya/Dimitri and get great crossover couples, because Anya/Phoebus is amazingly sweet, and Dimitri/Esme is epically sexy. #6 - Había Una Vez Studios"El Tango de Roxanne" - Moulin RougeCrossover - Esmeralda & HerculesFinished MEP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMg5h1Cu2kcMy thoughts: I'm so excited to be part of this group!! It's for non/disney editors who speak Spanish, and though I'm not Hispanic/Latina by blood, I took several years of it in school and could nearly speak it fluently. Anyway, I'm really happy to have an opportunity to speak it again and learn more. Oh, and Esme and Herc make such a cute couple, but I also like them as the "best friends" type. It just depends on what mood I'm in.
How to Save A Life [DHS MEP part] destinydeceived 2010-06-27 | I'm not quite sure how I feel about the way this one turned out ... but I got super inspired to do it when the MEP was opened. It's my first "sibling crossover," though, so it was kind of refreshing to make despite how dark the theme is. ----Anyway, so these three came together as siblings in my head (Phoebus is the oldest, Miguel is the middle child, and Madellaine is the youngest, FYI), and I imagined their relationship being strained by Phoebus' job, since Miguel and Madellaine seem like the kind of people who would get on Frollo's bad side for being friends with Gypsies. Phoebus is frustrated with the injustices he has had to help Frollo carry out, and tells Miguel he's finally going to defy him. Miguel knows that this means death for his big brother, and argues vehemently against it, but Phoebus has made up his mind. Madellaine enters the room and adds a quiet plea to Miguel's, both of them trying to persuade him not to get himself killed, but Phoebus reassures them that he has to do the right thing, and he's not afraid of death. They arrive on the scene at the miller's house when Phoebus douses his torch and watch in horror as their brother is executed. Both are arrested for trying to interfere, and in prison they are left to mourn their big brother's death and blame themselves for it. -----The idea was the result of a lot of random thoughts coming together at once. Lol, first, the MEP was supposed to be tragic, and since I only *almost* killed Phoebus the last time I used him, I figured I'd actually have him die this time. I really do love him, but he has a lot of near-death scenes to work with, so things like this seem to happen to him a lot in videos xD Using Miguel as his brother comes from a crazy idea I had while sleep-deprived and waiting for my animation project to render really late at night. I was doodling non/Disney characters, and after drawing Phoebus and Esmeralda and *attempting* to draw Madellaine and Quasi (that was a fail), I was done with "Hunchback" for the time being, and decided to draw Miguel. Then it hit me. Miguel could be used as an adult version of Zephyr (Phoebus & Esmeralda's son from the sequel. He looks just like his dad but has his mother's green eyes.) For a number of reasons ... 1) their personalities match, 2) Miguel is blonde and has green eyes, 3) Miguel's beard looks a little bit like Phoebus', and 4) Phoebus and Tulio have the same voice actor, so it seemed appropriate to connect them xD. And since Miguel and Phoebus have a few personality clashes, I thought they'd make great dysfunctional brothers. And since the group is Disney Heroines Studios, I wanted to include a heroine, and Madellaine came to mind. She and Phoebus are both blonde, play basically the same part (working-for-the-villain-but-really-don't-want-to-and-finally-rebel), and don't exactly get along in the movie, so boom! Miguel and Phoebus have a sister in their dysfunctional family. I also really wouldn't be surprised to find a HOND fanfic involving Phoebus and Madellaine discovering they're long-lost siblings. I mean, I found one that made Phoebus and Quasi cousins once!!!! o.0So yeah ... I'm not sure if I like how it turned out, but I really enjoyed making it. I think I tried to fit too much story into too short of a video, 'cause it seems too quick to me.
Sleep - Marina & Shang [DHS MEP] destinydeceived 2010-06-10 | You know how I said I wanted a break from crossovers a while ago?? Not really happening. I can't resist them! Anywayyy ... this is for a crossover MEP over at Disney Heroines Studios, the first one I've done for this group. I've toyed with the idea of pairing Marina and Shang for a while, but never really knew what kind of story they could have ... then this MEP came along, and it clicked. Shang is a soldier, an instrument of war; Marina is an ambassador, an advocate of peace. They fall in love during peaceful times, but when conflict arises in the kingdom, Marina is powerless to stop the declaration of war, and Shang must leave to fight. It hurts Marina to see him go, especially since she doesn't support the war. Shang regrets leaving, but has to uphold his duty. Shang is killed in battle, and leaves Marina heartbroken, haunted by his memory.
Herc/Meg/Phoebus - WYWDS Everything You Want MEP Part destinydeceived 2010-05-27 | w00t, so the amazing czarownicykot is hosting this MEP for WYWDS, and how could I resist??? This song is pretty much the closest thing I have to an all-time favorite. So the plot goes like this: Meg is in a relationship with Herc, and Phoebus is her best friend. Though Herc seems to do everything right in the relationship, Meg just isn't in love with him, and realizes she's actually in love with Phoebus. Meg tries to break up with Herc, but he becomes violent towards her (not shown), and she runs to Phoebus for help. The manly men have a manly fight, and Meg can only watch in horror. Phoebus tries to ride off on horseback, but Herc shoots him with an arrow, and Meg goes to him sobbing. Phoebus is unconscious for the night, and Meg lays beside him. When he finally wakes to his pain, he groans, and Meg is relieved that he's alive. She pleads with Herc to leave Phoebus alone if he'll take her back. I really like how it turned out, but this is nothing like I originally imagined it. After I finished it I was like "whoa ... I almost killed Phoebus o.0," 'cause I totally didn't expect myself to, especially since I've been fangirling a bit over him lately.
Non/Disney Crossover - Dimitri & Esmeralda - Struck by You destinydeceived 2010-05-20 | THANKS FOR 500+ SUBSCRIBERS!!! I'm honored that people actually like these videos :D Well, you voted, and I listened, so here's the majority's choice: Dimitri & Esmeralda! Song info is on the video, at the beginning. Just rewind if you miss it :) I cut the song a couple of times 'cause it's repetitive and I wouldn't really gain anything by including the chorus over and over again. The Plot: Esmeralda is a dancer at the Moulin Rouge in Paris (1927 rather than 1482 ^^), and Dimitri sees her when he's there with Vlad, Sophie, and Anya. The point of this double-date is that Vlad is trying to set Dimitri up with Anya. Dimitri is angry with Vlad for trying to force him into something, and feels awkward around Anya because she's kinda all over him when he's clearly not interested. Needless to say, he's having a bad night. He hates the club, is angry at everyone, and tries to drink away the experience. Anya knows by now that Dimitri is a lost cause, so she just enjoys her evening at the club being single. When Esmeralda appears on stage, Dimitri is entranced. He's already bordering on drunk by this time, so his rationality just goes out the window as the night wears on and he is more and more intoxicated both by the alcohol and by Esmeralda's dancing. Between numbers, he spots Esme at the bar, and wanders over to try and start a conversation, but she's not having it. She's tired of men trying to come on to her at the club, and to her Dimitri is just another lustful drunk who wants to sleep with her. Well, this just makes Dimitri drink more. At one point he finds himself in the "boiler room" (just pretend it's not really a train engine ...), presumably on his way to or from the bathroom, and hallucinates Esme dancing in the flames. When he gets back, he ends up getting out of control, to the point where he gets dragged out of the club and thrown into the street. A taste of sidewalk brings him back from his stupor enough to realize that he's screwed up bad, and made a fool of himself. Whatever chance he might have had with the gorgeous dancer whose fiery presence had so captivated him, it seemed like it was completely gone. As he's talking to himself, he sees a group of gypsies performing in the street, and since he thinks he sees Esme dancing with them, he thinks he must still be hallucinating, so he goes home to bed, and deals with a massive hangover and bruises in the morning. Three weeks later, Anya (who has now accepted Dimitri as a friend, finding some common ground in that they both despise Vlad's interfering) convinces him to go look for Esmeralda at the club, and try to apologize or something. But, to Anya's dismay and Dimitri's delight, the Moulin Rouge has been shut down, and is boarded up. "Perfect," Dimitri says. He hated the place to begin with. They go their separate ways, and Dimitri runs into the gypsies again. This time it's broad daylight, and he's been sober for weeks, so he's shocked to see Esme there. When she sees the look on his face, she recognizes him as the idiot from three weeks ago, and has a good laugh as she runs off with her friends. After his shock has subsided, Dimitri decides to follow her, and his pursuit leads him to Notre-Dame cathedral. Esme likes the architecture and the peaceful atmosphere, so she comes there often. When she realizes Dimitri has followed her, she is visibly irritated at first. Dimitri turns on the charm, and though they bicker as they flirt, she eventually warms up to him. Suddenly, a switch is flipped in Dimitri, and he feels ashamed of himself for everything that's happened. So, he turns away from her and runs up the staircase. Perplexed, Esme calls after him, and follows him up to the bell tower. He's amazed when he realizes she's behind him, and even more so when she says to forget about the whole incident at the club. They were both having a bad night, then, and she sees his true colors now. So, they continue to flirt until nightfall, ending the evening with a passionate kiss, and perhaps more ... ;) I'll leave that part open-ended ... I never decided how far I wanted them to go xD Hope you enjoyed it! Expect some canon stuff soon, since I'm crossover'd out for the moment.
Love Song Reqiuem MEP part - Jane Porter + John Smith destinydeceived 2010-03-15 | Well, I was super excited to join this MEP for WYWDS, but I knew I would be too busy to finish it quickly. Didn't know I'd be the one to hold it up from finishing, though. I like this pairing on its own, but I was actually motivated to choose it because Jane Porter and John Smith are the characters I imagine to represent me and a friend who I had a huge crush on. (really silly, I know ...) I found out on Friday that he's not interested in being more than friends, which is when I had to finish the video, so it got a little painful to edit towards the end. We're still friends, and I'm not mad at him, but it's gonna be awkward for a little while. This is probably now tied with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjMZvAxLsv4 for the most personal video I've ever edited. I am rather proud of how it turned out, though.

Odette + Garrett - WYWDS Angels on the Moon (Crossover Volume) MEP Part 4 destinydeceived 2010-02-13 | This took me forever to finish. I actually did frame-by-frame masking on the part with Odette's hand, which I am very proud of. Luckily it was relatively easy because the Swan Princess file I have is at 25 fps and the frames seem to be doubled at that part, so it was half as much work as it could have been. Anyway, as I said, I'm pretty proud of how this turned out. Can't wait to see the MEP finished. The plot for this is rather simple and tragic. Garret is in denial that he is going to die, and without his "vow of everlasting love" to break her spell, Odette will die as well. When the guitar part begins, you see a flashback to how they met.
Two Is Better Than One MEP part destinydeceived 2010-01-05 | This is for an MEP hosted by lovedeepinside. After seeing Emily (FranziskavonKarma)'s part I got motivated to work on mine. I'm really happy with how it turned out :D Miguel & Jasmine are simply adorable :3 I had originally put in a couple clips of Altivo and Rajah being all approving of their relationship, but it didn't seem to work with the flow of the song. Another video, perhaps!
Kayley & John Rolfe - All I Need - Merry (belated) Christmas Vee!!! destinydeceived 2009-12-26 | Well, I *almost* finished this on time. My nitpicking just delayed it a day XD. This is for Vee (RumourDarcile), as she had asked for a Kayley/Rolfe crossover in her wishlist, and she's been a great friend to me on YouTube, so I was happy to oblige! It would have been done sooner, but I couldn't think of a song to use or a good plot for the longest time. This is one of my favorite songs (All I Need by Mat Kearney), and I let myself be inspired by it. The basic plot is that Kayley and John are a married couple trying to lead a simple life, but they are dealing with hardships caused by political turmoil and war. Their relationship is too strong to be broken. When John is wounded, Kayley's steadfast care and his memories of happier times keep him alive. Vee, MERRY CHRISTMAS!! I really hope you like it! I originally wanted to make a lighthearted video for this couple, you know - something with holiday cheer, but inspiration led me to something more tragic, so I hope you still enjoy it. There are so many little details in this that annoy me so much but I wasn't able to fix. I also cut the song o.0 I've never done that before! I hope it sounds okay.

Everything Changes - Megara & John Smith [for Ziska] destinydeceived 2009-12-14 | I've had the idea to use this pairing with this song for a while (the opening is what inspired it), and fellow WYWDS member FranziskavonKarma's AMAZING crossover with them motivated me to get the idea out of my head. Seeing as she asked for a MegXSmith crossover in her wishlist, I thought I'd make that come true. So, Merry Christmas, Ziska!!! So, the idea behind this is that Meg and John are essentially a dysfunctional couple. They argue a lot, but they also have really happy memories. John really hurt Meg when he left her behind to go explore the new world. He comes back and tries to make amends for what he's done, and they fight some more, but eventually Meg learns to forgive him, and remembers why she fell in love with him. This realization comes just in time for her to save him from execution when he is suddenly taken from their home, but she might lose her own life in the process.

I used so many pairings in that video that I'll probably never make full videos for, but I'd like to see someone else do so. Take one of my crazy ideas from that video and expand upon it, and I'll pretty much love you forever! 7. Channel comments and/or messages. I'd love to get to know some of you better :D 8. Help choosing a name for a YT backup account (just in case) 9. Recommendations for music in African languages. I don't speak any, but I just love how they sound, and have been in love with African music since seeing The Lion King. But, I'm not very good at finding more, so if anybody knows of some, I'm all ears! 10. Anastasia - Everything You Want [revisited] destinydeceived 2009-11-26 | So first, I want to dedicate this video to my 250+ subscribers! I'm thrilled to have each and every one of you, and I never ever imagined this many people would enjoy my videos. Second, yes, I've made this song/movie combination before. I felt like the first time, when I was still using WMM, I didn't manage to convey all the ideas that I wanted to as fully as they could be, and I love this song too much to leave myself unsatisfied with the interpretation. Also, I thought some of the effects were sloppy, so I wanted to make it more polished. This video is about Anya's search for her past, her identity, and her family, and the role Dimitri plays in it. At first, Dimitri is the answer to all her questions - a link to her past. He can reunite her with all she has lost, everything she ever wanted. But, unexpectedly, she also finds herself falling in love with him. The video is meant to convey the struggle of the two ideas, and the conclusion as she must decide what is more important, what she truly wants. The Good Life :D destinydeceived 2009-09-17 | This is a really random video for me. This song was my favorite to drive to over the summer, and not only did I sing loudly along as I drove, but I also had random ideas for crossover videos using this song. So, instead of doing one pairing, I ended up making this just a "for fun" video - with random, lighthearted (mainly) interactions of all sorts (friendly, platonic, romantic, whatever) between as many characters as I could fit into it. It's a tribute to all the possibilities of summer, lol. My timing is terrible compared to my other videos, but I hope everyone enjoys :D Oh, and I wanted to mention that I probably won't expand upon all (most) of the ideas I came up with for this video, so if anyone else wants to, GO AHEAD!!! HAVE FUN!!!
Megara & Dimitri - Between the Lines destinydeceived 2009-08-07 | Sorry this might be confusing ... The video is, for the most part, not chronological, so I highly advise reading the story below first. For this to work historically, you have to pretend that Ancient Greece and Soviet Russia existed in the same time period. ----- Dimitri came to Greece after the fall of the Romanovs, in whose palace he had worked as a servant. At some point, he befriended Megara, a princess of Thebes. They became very close, and an unspoken attraction formed between them. Meanwhile, in the Underworld, Rasputin had been nagging at Hades for the past ten years about the unfulfilled Romanov curse. Rasputin informs Hades that Dimitri is the only person who can restore the identity of the last living Romanov - Anastasia - and they set in action a plan to manipulate him to do so. They begin by convincing Megara, with a false vision, that the only way to save Dimitri from being mortally injured in a coming earthquake is to sell her soul to Hades. Terrified, she accepts, keeping it a secret from Dimitri to hide her true feelings. The Empress' reward money for the return of Anastasia was a well known opportunity to men like Dimitri, and he knew he had great advantage towards finding her, but he had no intention of leaving the country. He liked the life he had made for himself as a small-time con man, and couldn't imagine leaving Greece. Rasputin and Hades, however, convinced him with a haunting vision of Megara in danger that the only way he would be able to save her was to secure the Empress' 10 million rubles as tribute to Hades. Determined to protect her, he resolved to find Anastasia. He was afraid to tell Meg how much he cared, so he kept his newest con a secret from her. Dimitri still had Anastasia's music box from when he had helped her escape the siege of the palace, and he had shown it to Meg many times before when telling the story of how he came to Greece. He met Anya on a train, and noticed her fiddling with a necklace exactly like the one that opened Anastasia's music box. He is certain that she is Anastasia, and convinces her of the same. They rekindle their childhood friendship and become very close, which Meg sees in the visions Rasputin shows Hades. This makes Meg think that Dimitri has abandoned her. But, she follows Hades and Rasputin after him to Paris, and they meet and have many arguments fueled by the secrets both are keeping from each other. Eventually, Dimitri tells Meg who Anya is, and things start to make more sense. She now understands that Dimitri's strange behavior has been part of Hades and Rasputin's plot. Hades has promised Meg her freedom for helping this, but now that she knows Anya is innocent, she resolves to do what she can to stop it. Despite that he is not in love with her, Dimitri does care for Anya, but he must say goodbye. He is on his way to depart on the next ship to Greece when Meg arrives riding a winged horse (stolen from Hades, I guess) to warn him. Rasputin arrives to kill Anastasia, but Megara and Dimitri show up as Anya is sliding off the bridge, and Dimitri rushes in to catch her. Once he has pulled her up, Anya sees Hades in the distance holding Meg prisoner. Dimitri tells Anya to stay where she is and hold on while he runs to complete the deal with Hades to save Meg. They shake hands on the terms that Meg will be safe in exchange for his surrender of "the Empress' treasure" (unbeknownst to Dimitri, he refers to Anastasia and not the reward money), and Hades shoves Dimitri aside so that Rasputin can take care of Anya. Meg, freed from Hades' grasp, sees Rasputin break the column as he sends Anya sprawling beneath it. She won't let the innocent Anya die for her mistakes, and jumps to push her out from under the column as it comes crashing down, taking the blow herself. Dimitri watches in horror as he deflects continued blows from Hades, and Anya - her rage intensified by Megara's sacrifice - collects herself and prepares to fight. Hades' promise to Dimitri is broken, and he leaves knowing that Rasputin's plan with fail. Anya and Dimitri wrest the reliquary from Rasputin's hands as the Fates prepare to cut Meg's "thread of life," and at the last moment when the reliquary is smashed, the thread refuses to cut, because Raputin's power - the same power that would have killed Meg - is destroyed. Meg awakes to the great surprise of Dimitri and Anya. Dimitri embraces Meg, who is still a little confused. He picks up Anya's crown and offers it back to her. The three return to the palace where Meg and Dimitri attend Anya's party. They are goofing around in the curtains when Meg remembers her shame, sitting despondently on a bench. Dimitri kneels to comfort her, and they finally admit their feelings for one another. Anya has seen the movement in the curtains and peeks through to a sight that brings a smile to her face - Dimitri and Meg beginning their "happily ever after."

The plot: Miguel has been sentenced to death for his crimes, and while Jasmine sees no great harm in his gambling and scheming, Miguel knows that he cannot fight his fate and simply asks Jasmine to remember him and the love they shared when he's gone. Disney, etc. - Hallelujah (75 subscribers!) destinydeceived 2009-06-11 | Well, I had intended this to be my 50-subscriber video, but before I could even get halfway through it I had a huge influx of new subscribers. Thanks so much for watching everyone! I had started to make a video with this song in my final days of WMM, when I was getting more and more interested in Vegas, so a lot of the ideas I had were inspired by things I knew I could do in Vegas and were too complicated to pull off. But, I revisited the project and here is the result. The video itself is one of the most upbeat and definitely the most effects-heavy I've ever done, and is basically focused on the girls just being themselves while following the lyrics.

The task for this MEP was to take a Disney song and edit another Disney movie to it. For a while I had no idea what I was going to do, but then this combo popped into my head. I never thought I'd do a video of just HOND by itself, because I never liked this movie as a kid. But I revisited it as an adult and decided that it was great! XD I adore Disney's versions of Phoebus and Esmeralda, and I thought this part of the song (from Tarzan) suited them. If anyone feels like asking, I'm not going to make this into a full video because I don't think the rest of the song really applies.
So I decided to try a fandub ... TLK - Under the Stars/The Argument [me as Nala] destinydeceived 2009-05-07 | So yeah ... I've watched a few fandubs lately, and it looked fun, so I thought I'd give it a try (I waited until no one would be home to hear me talking to myself, xD) Thanks to EnGrapefruit for posting the fandub-ready scene!!This is probably the scene I know best out of all Disney, so I gave it a shot. It was harder than I thought it would be!!! The toughest part was when she says "Simba, he let the hyenas take over the Pridelands", because I didn't know the timing of that line as well as I thought I did. I had to force myself to not start it too early, but I ended up delivering it late because I hesitated. Anyway, I did enjoy this ... Not that I suddenly want to start acting, but I do feel a little bit better about my voice in this than any other time I've heard it recorded. ... There's a few places where I cringe a little at how it sounds, but overall I think I did pretty well. I may or may not try something like this again ... we'll see.

I just followed the lyrics, but it turned out juxtaposing Love/Romance and Angst, which was really interesting to do.
Anastasia - Everything You Want destinydeceived 2009-03-03 | This is one of my favorite songs of all time, and I think it applies really well to the story of "Anastasia". This video has been a pain in the butt to make, since I made the first version before my computer crashed, but hadn't saved a final copy of it, so I lost my work. Then I went away to school, and wasn't at home long enough to finish it quickly ... so it's taken me until now to get it done because I wouldn't allow myself to rush through it. As if I hadn't spent enough time on it, WMM decided at the last minute that it wasn't going to save correctly, and I had to make like 5 copies of it before I could finally get it right. The song means a lot to me, and so does the movie, so I wanted to make sure I did them both justice.

También es mi primera vez usando una canción en español. Estuve inspirada totalmente por el video de "tranceart" a usar la canción que escogí porque fue dificil escoger una canción perfecta, y no pensé en "Ojalá Pudiera Borrarte" antes de ver su video con otra canción por Maná. La historia sigue como si la revolución rusa nunca ocurrió, entonces toda la familia Romanov todavía vive, y Anastasia y Dimitri son nada más que mejores amigos. Eric y Anya se conocieron durante unas vacaciones en que las familias reales de sus propios reinos pasaron unas semanas en la misma isla. Ellos se encontraron al otro/a por accidente cuando Alexei y Max quisieron jugar juntos. Anya y Eric se enamoraron con la primera mirada, y pasaban mucho tiempo juntos, pero tuvieron que despedirse cuando el verano terminó. Por el dolor de recordar ese amor perdido, ellos querían borrar la memoria del otro de sus mentes, como dice la canción. Pero, las memorias de su felicidad regresan en sus sueños, y estos sueños se prueban peligrosos. El video empieza en la última noche de la vacación. Eric y Anya ambos intentan a olvidar el amor que perdirán, pero sus memorias fuertes los revisitan, y el video muestra cómo ellos se conocieron, y luego una conversación en que Eric supo de que Anya es de Rusia y entonces que él nunca le viera después de la vacación. This song is usually used as a positive narration, but I found it bittersweet in the context of "Anastasia". This video doesn't show Anya and Dimitri's happy ending, but you'll see that it makes more sense that way when you watch it.

I also wanted to explain the clip/song from the movie I put at the end. I put it in not only because it really fits the line "I dare you to move," but also because of the meaning fo the Zulu(?) lyrics: Is'khathi sifikile (the time has come) Is'khathi busa iyo (it's time, rule) Is'khathi sifikile (the time has come) Busa lomhlhaba Simba iyo (rule this land, Simba) I thought it was a good way to echo the meaning of the song in this video.
