Word colors correspond roughly to meaning, not to position in the lyrics (except for the crazy multicolored lines, those are just random). I had to reorder a few lines so it would make sense, but when I typeset, I preserved their colors.
I realize the lyrics might be a little hard to read the way I subbed them, especially after 2 rounds of avi compression and 1 of YouTube compression. So here they are:
Melancholic
I cant grasp you at all
That my heart could be taken away
While I didnt notice at all
Theres no way that could happen
There was that unfeeling blank smile
There was that sunset on Sunday
There was that time of year full of tests
There was that melancholist named you
If I plowed forth
With my
Haphazard bluntness
I get the feeling that
There would be nothing
Left in my hand
I thought Id try to
Gain a bit of courage
But I ended up
Shrinking away
And getting stuck
I cant grasp you at all
That my heart could be taken away
While I didnt notice at all
Theres no way that could happen
You dont realize at all
I dont care about you, dont care at all!
Dont give me that hey, hey, my smile
Cant go to sleep again
Tomorrow, will I still
Be the same as always?
Still unfeeling and
Aloof and
Not cute at all?
Ever since you showed up in that dream of mine
I havent been honest at all
After all
I cant grasp you at all
The one who was trying to lose her heart
While she didnt notice at all
Was me after all
Its that sort of time
I want to be drowned in this beloved

Okay, I might be a little late for some of you, but it's still August 31st where I am, so it's still Miku's birthday.
I've been working on this all weekend and managed to get it done just in time. Everything you see in the video was created using Aegisub and VSFilterMod.
Special thanks go to my EveTaku teammate puddizzle who gave the video a very thorough QC, brushing up the translation and pointing out parts of the video that could be improved.
Interestingly enough, this -almost- marks 2 million combined views on my videos. I'm a bit short (1.98 million as of upload) but close enough.
I'd like to do supercell's Sekiranun Graffiti once I can find an HD version of the PV, as well as TokuP's Hoshi no Uta. Don't expect those for at least two weeks, though.
Enjoy the video, and once again a very happy birthday to Miku! Many happy returns![Eng Sub]【Hatsune Miku】 Heart Shooter PV (HD)lygerzero0zero2011-07-26 | I promise I'm still alive. @_@
No fancy effects this time either. Expect something fancier August 31. If you don't know what that day is, shame on you.
Sorry for my inactivity. I've been doing various other translation work so translating videos for this channel kind of fell to the wayside, but I keep getting e-mails each day saying people have subscribed so I felt like I oughta do something.
Scop's latest song, with pictures by Matsutori. Enjoy.
I've wanted to do 1/6 for a while now since I love that song and have a translation lying around, but I'm not huge on the original PV, so I'm wondering if I should pull another all-Aegisub effort like for Hajimete no Oto...[Eng Sub] 【supercell】 Perfect Daylygerzero0zero2011-03-17 | Before I get into talking about the video, I'd just like to encourage everyone who hasn't already to donate to the Red Cross and other organizations for earthquake relief in Japan. "Perfect Day" from Supercell's second album, "Today Is A Beautiful Day." The wonderful PV is animated by studio Madhouse. My copy has already shipped and should be arriving within two weeks; once I get it I'll try to translate some of the other songs on the album.
The Japanese lyrics were taken from some website I found, before the official lyrics were released, so no guarantees as to its accuracy. Translation is my own as usual.
I probably won't be uploading the script this time, since the code is very messy, most likely only readable by myself, and only really works for this video.
UPDATE: Well, somebody asked, so here it is. I'm usually open to helping people out with my scripts if they PM me but be advised I won't be offering any assistance if you can't understand this one. I mean it this time!

It can also be read as "san-kyuu" i.e. "thank you."
In a fortuitous coincidence, a few hours ago I also passed 1 million combined views on my videos. A big thanks to everyone who watches my videos! I'm quite honored. ^^
Today last year I uploaded a translation of Deco*27's "Aikotoba," which happened to be the first encore in last year's 39's Giving Day concert. This year I'm uploading a video set to Hajimete no Oto, which was the first song on the set list for last year's concert.
Full disclosure: the translation is old (last July) and I haven't re-checked it. The effects however are new; I wrote them all over the weekend. Incidentally, this was also my first attempt at creating a video using nothing but effects generated in Aegisub; the base video consisted of nothing but a 640x480 black rectangle with the song.
Anyway, hope you enjoy, and hope Vocaloid love will continue this year as well. ^^
The script is literally exactly how it was before I clicked "apply karaoke template" and merged it onto the video. This means both that you'll be able to see everything I did down to the smallest detail, and also that I didn't spend any time cleaning up the code to make it readable. Sorry, hopefully someone will find it helpful.
Ah, almost forgot to mention; a lot of the effects in this script require VSFilterMod as opposed to the usual VSFilter; you can get VSFilterMod here: http://code.google.com/p/vsfiltermod
I'll hopefully be able to upload Perfect Day by Supercell during my spring break, a week after this week.[Eng Sub]【Hatsune Miku】 Insensible Coherence Complete Control Devicelygerzero0zero2011-02-11 | Also known as Mukankakuteki Kanshousei Kanzen Seigyo Souchi. I noticed just now I mis-romanized the "seigyo" as "seigyou" in the karaoke subs. Sorry.
I apologize for the severe lack of uploads lately. I've been translating for a manga scanlation group, among other things. I probably won't be writing fancy effects much anymore since it's hard to think of them (the effect in this video is extremely basic; the lead-in is the same as what I used in Hero) but I'll try to put out translations on this account with some level of consistency.
Script: dl.dropbox.com/u/28522323/hero_effect.ass *note* I haven't cleaned up this script at all. It's exactly how it looks before I applied the effect. Don't know how helpful it'll be but some people asked for it.
Supercell's latest nagi song, "Hero." UPDATE: Supercell second album, which includes this song, up for preorder:
Though it's not an original PV, I suppose the person who put together the brief clip from the official site with the full version of the song deserves a shout-out (seeing as the base video editing isn't my own). Here's the video I used: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm12905623[Eng Sub] 【Megurine Luka】 Tower PVlygerzero0zero2010-12-26 | NOTE: Okay, kinda weird. Dunno what YouTube did but when this video is viewed on the video page the black bars on top and bottom don't show up. Which is kind of important because THAT'S WHERE THE SUBTITLES ARE. Maybe it's just on my computer? Anyway. It's fine embedded or in the pop-out window. Hopefully that gets fixed... for now if you want to see the subs you'll have to click the pop-out button in the bottom right.
Very quick sub (I don't think I've ever used default style before this) using an old translation (this is in fact from last Christmas) slightly brushed up. Felt bad for not uploading anything in ages; I swear I have a queue of 8-ish videos that I want to do but I haven't worked up the motivation to buckle down and get them done. :\ Too much anime and games to get to!
Supercell's Hero is translated and timed (including karaoke) I just gotta write some effects for it... that's probably coming up next.

Effect (free to use): dl.dropbox.com/u/28522323/shinkai_shoujo_effect.ass I didn't clean this script because most of the effects were done within the template lines; there aren't any super-complicated functions. Might not be that user-friendly but it should be readable.
Lyrics:
Deep Sea Girl
I've sunk so low in the sea of sadness That even opening my eyes is not worth the effort At this rate to what depths shall I descend Unable to be found by a single soul?
Where should I turn, what should I do? A single ray of light suddenly shines through If I reach out my hand it's as if I can reach But the tides carry me off and I lose it
What in the world could that have been? So warm and dazzling it was Who was the liar unconsciously giving off that bioluminescence?
Deep sea girl, still yet sinks down Shutting herself away in the shadowy beyond Deep sea girl, yet still she wants to know For she's found that person who captivates her heart
This place had neither day nor night, Yet the sleepless nights go on You were beautiful as you freely Spread your great wings and swam down
And then once more light showers down As I gazed entranced our eyes met When you took notice and turned towards me, I lied to you...
Deep sea girl, purposely sinking down Her red cheek amidst the surrounding shadows Deep sea girl, the black ocean Still won't allow her the courage to bare her heart
My clothes have become so ragged And my smile so unsightly twisted I couldn't possibly face anyone like this Oh, just leave me be!
Unspoken emotions flowed out and melt away The next instant, you suddenly disappeared from view
Deep fears fill her, and she frets The shadows hide him, she's all alone Reaching her limit, she stretches out her hand "See now, you too were hiding a wonderful color."
Deep sea girl, her arm is caught The marine snow sings a song of blessing Deep sea girl, wants to know yet more For she's found that person who captivates her heart
The "hatsune_miku()" function that appears onscreen is actually the Lua script that does the hexadecimal effects in this video. I was too lazy to make up a code with deep symbolic meaning or something.
Effect (free to use): dl.dropbox.com/u/28522323/Calc_effect.ass This script contains pretty much everything. It's not exactly user friendly so I'm afraid you'll probably have to figure things out yourself. :\
Feel free to use any of my effects, with or without credit.
So yeah, had to delete my original videos due to a copyright claim. Some people still wanted the videos so I've made this somewhat sparser video without the album art and without the actual music (here's hoping they won't come after me for using the lyrics).
I'd offer the original videos for download but I don't want my account to be suspended (seeings as I now have several strikes against me...). Well, we'll see. I might encode an LQ version and put that up for download. Another possibility: I could upload the video without audio and use the audio swap to grab it from another video.[Eng+Karaoke]【Hatsune Miku】 RiNG My BeLL - TokuPlygerzero0zero2010-08-15 | See here's the double standard. Used Avidemux to add the black bars on the top and bottom, but for some reason the program isn't fully functional on my computer... might be because I'm on a 64-bit system, but I didn't hear of anyone else having problems. I got it to work but I had to use keyboard shortcuts to do everything, since most of the buttons did not respond to my mouse. :\

*Upon a second viewing, the line that reads "I calm myself down" would be better translated as "I remain calm." That's what I get for doing a rush job (start to finish, including translation and timing, was about an hour).

Anyway, enjoy.[Eng+Karaoke] 【Hatsune Miku】 Look This Way Baby (Project Diva 2nd)lygerzero0zero2010-07-07 | Subbed version is almost twice the filesize of the original video. Yay for moving subtitles!
So yeah, in my quest to sub every new Supercell song, here is Kocchi Muite Baby. According to the blog, Ryo used original Miku + 3 appends. The vocals were actually recorded in a studio with a proper studio mike; I'm not very knowledgeable about sound tech and all but apparently this gave it a more studio-sound?
Anyway, enjoy Sega's awesome PV.[Eng+Karaoke] 【Hatsune Miku】 GALLOWS BELLlygerzero0zero2010-06-26 | Before anyone else theorizes, this is the interpretation I used when translating:
He may or may not have been insane, but they love each other nonetheless, and some unexplained circumstances caused him to kill her. Maybe they were external circumstances (some sort of forbidden love?) or maybe he really was insane, but she forgives him, and anyway now he's facing the death sentence but he's happy because he'll see her again.
Also capitalizing He and She was a purely stylistic choice. There isn't really anything in the Japanese that indicates it, but personal pronouns aren't used as frequently in Japanese so I took "kare" and "kanojo" to essentially be the characters' "names." Kind of like "Watashi" in Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei.
Effect (free to use): http://www.sendspace.com/file/otzlvg Really not a very complicated effect but someone did PM me asking for it so I might as well put it here too ._.
The probe formerly known as MUSES-C was launched by JAXA aboard a MV5 rocket on May 9, 2003. It was later renamed Hayabusa, which means "falcon" in Japanese.
Its sample horn was meant to collect dust and debris from the asteroid, so that the samples could be returned to Earth. The target markers were reflective markers that Hayabusa carried to help position itself on the asteroid. One of the markers contained the signatures of 880,000 people from around the world.
Hayabusa also carried with it the tiny solar-powered MINERVA lander, which was to land on the asteroid and explore. If successful, MINERVA would stay on the asteroid permanently, and not return to Hayabusa. More on MINERVA if I ever get to episode 2 of this thing.
Hiten was a probe launched by JAXA in the 90's. It performed something like ten swingbys of the moon.
I assume Sagami refers to the Sagamihara campus of JAXA.
Itokawa Hideo is known as the father of the Japanese space program. He was a rocket scientist who, during WWII, also developed the Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa fighter plane.
The "I hear your voice coming late!" thing is a reference to famous ventriloquist group (well, one guy and a bunch of dummies) Ikkokudou, who is known for doing his delayed-voice trick. Thanks to Honeysuckle on Animesuki for explaining that reference to me. For the less scientifically inclined, Sagami-san's voice is delayed because Hayabusa-san is so far away that even at the speed of light, radio waves take several minutes to reach her.
Oosumi was the first satellite that Japan launched into orbit, in 1970 I believe. After orbiting for more than 30 years, it finally fell out of orbit and burned up in the atmosphere on August 2, 2003.
MV5-san mentions Lipovitan, which is a Japanese health drink.
Osaka and Tokyo are about 250 miles or 400 km apart.
I translated this video as is, but the original was posted late May. Hayabusa has already returned home by now.
I think those are all the notes I have. Total time spent on this video, probably 10 hours. Script is 275 lines long. Didn't bother translating all the credits as I was too tired.
Until episode 2!

Long time no upload! (four days, wow)
This is... rather late. It's a sakura season song, as you can probably tell... I downloaded this to sub more than a month ago, back in March.
I actually originally had this in mind when I decided I'd write a Java program to help add sub effects, even though I first used it for ARiA. Otherwise getting the blur-in+zoom-out effect on every single line would have been hellish.
(this video is for some reason taking ages to upload. It's only 24 mB...)
This made me feel like somewhat less of a hack after trying to figure out ARiA.

I might try to automate character-by-character appearing as well... anyway no text effects in the original video, for once, so I could have had it easy, but with a PV this amazing I wanted to do something.
I didn't do the full character-by-character-fade-in effect because it's unexpectedly tedious and complicated. This song is 52 lines long; I only did the character-by-character thing for Melancholic since only about 10 lines required it. Or maybe there's a trick to it that I'm completely failing to see.

Correcting it via annotation...
I just realized I forgot a parentheses. Ach, how embarrassing! Also if someone knows the geography of Akihabara and would like to tell me what building exactly Nishikan refers to, I would be much obliged. I've left it as "South building" for now.

NOTES: 0:01 - MyList is Nico Nico Douga's video favoriting system 0:45 - "imifu" stands for "imi fumei" literally "meaning unclear," I thought "WTF" was the closest English equivalent 1:12 - "Temporary just one click" refers to the button on the side of Nico Videos that allows you to add a video to your temporary MyList with one click. "Ippatsu" (which I rendered as "one click") probably also has certain -other- ways of interpreting it. "One go," "one fling" perhaps. 1:23 - "wktk" I couldn't come up with an English equivalent so I left it as it was. "wktk" is a common Nico comment and stands for "wakuteka" which in turn stands for "waku-waku teka-teka" which is roughly "sparkling with excitement." Imagine an anime character with sparkles around them and you get the gist. 1:44 - Just in case anyone didn't catch it, this refers to the video statistics, in this case probably the MyList count. People on Nico will often post congratulatory comments when a video hits a landmark such as 1000 MyLists. 2:00 - When a video becomes popular enough (I don't know the exact criteria but MyList count is definitely a factor) it will be marked as "Silver" or "Gold" and the video thumbnail will be surrounded in a silver or gold frame (incidentally the original video is currently silver. Everyone with a Nico account go MyList it!) 2:32 - This isn't really a note, I'd just like to apologize for the text being screwed up in encoding. 2:37 - Your guess is as good as mine for when she mentions "points." I wouldn't be surprised if Nico has some kind of points system but I don't know of it and couldn't find anything on NicoNicoPedia. UPDATE: Neibaku says: "I'm pretty sure the points are from when people pay to promote a video on Nico. They get points for it."
One final thing: those rolled r's are epic.
(typesetting all this took me probably upwards of 6 hours)

The gray frame thing happened again, I'm afraid.

In any case, the imagery is pretty clearly fireworks (or it's about a pyromaniac in love).
This was a little out of my comfort zone in terms of vocabulary and imagery but I gave it my best shot.
Current translation backlog: at least 5 videos, with 2 optional. Oh yeah.

It's really too bad that the TextSub filter doesn't render edgeblurs above 1. The shadow was supposed to be nice and blurred, like the original Japanese lyrics, and it was supposed to blur-fade-out as well... ah well.
I also have Mikadzuki Rider translated and timed but I'm not particularly happy with that translation... I'll probably still upload it later, though. :\

Another graduation/sakura song, and you know what? I've just downloaded -another- one to sub later. Speaking of which, anyone who hasn't should go listen to Sakura no Ame (there's a good sub somewhere on YouTube) because it's awesome.
Also why did YouTube change everything? o_O I saw nothing wrong with the old system.
Actually, it's more that it's sakura and graduation season over in Japan. I've got another graduation-related song on my computer awaiting translation.

This took quite a while due to all the onscreen text. Thankfully the vast majority of the text was just summarized from the Japanese Wikipedia article on Hayabusa, which made the vocabulary easier to look up.
