Basically this whole situation with Sony and Evo amounts to two things: 1) Sony has been working with EVO since 20092) If EVO gets commodified Sony will have wasted money as their target demographic hate that. The FGC is very stubborn about commodified events, and its really easy for them to sniff out BS. There are concerns, as there always are with a lot of these acquisitions ESPECIALLY in this space. The good news is, the track record of the Cannon's has been to resist outside influence for a reason. Even when it was hard for them. They aren't going to hand something like this over without due diligence and if all that happens with EVO is some marketing money and exposure? it could really help the community at large after an absolutely devastating year.
