The question is...was it really a secret path? No, not really! But it certainly does look like it could be though! So, my apologies for the slightly Click-Baity title!

Treat Your SENSES to a Sunrise Morning WALK in a Cornish Fishing Village

Out and about Walking 2025-07-27 | Hello friends. Today we are enjoying an early morning walk in the Cornish village and fishing harbour of Polperro which is located in the south of Cornwall, England. Polperro is on the Heritage Coastline and has a population of 1,554.

Polperro has some of the narrowest streets that I have ever walked along. Some of the streets are also quite steep. There are a few jump cuts in this video. The first one was because of a driver making a U-Turn nearby. The second cut (Little Laney, up the hill) was my fault as I messed the shot up! And the third cut was due to a parked van which I really didn't want in the shot.

Also, you may find at times that some of the bird sounds (especially the seagulls!) are a bit loud as I completely forgot to lower and stabilise the volumes in post

Out and about Walking 2025-07-13 | Hello Friends. Today we are taking a pleasant evening walk at Golitha Falls which is located deep in the heart of Cornwall, England. Golitha Falls is characterized by the many ancient oak trees and the River Fowey flowing through.

Today's upload was supposed to be a Cotswold video but that one is still very much a work in progress at the moment due to the fact that I have taken quite a different approach in how I now film in the Cotswolds. Because of this approach it does mean some extra time in post production is needed. I do apologise, please bear with me in the meantime.

I do believe this is a first for the channel as this is the first video that I have filmed in Cornwall. It is probably fair to say that Cornwall has some of the most stunning countryside and coastlines within the UK.

One WRONG Decision Could Have Ended so BADLY

We start the walk from St Peter's Church in the parish of Leckhampton with the aim of finishing the walk at a well known local landmark "The Devil's Chimney".

We start the walk from St Peter's Church in the parish of Leckhampton with the aim of finishing the walk at a well known local landmark "The Devil's Chimney". Although this walk was intended to be fairly low key just to get the channel up & running again (Or walking as the case should be :)), it is fair to say that the walk did not go without incident! The first thing that happened was that around the 7 min mark my camera stopped recording (hence the jump cut!), I hadn't noticed and continued on my merry way. It was around the 20 min mark that I noticed that there was no recording icon on the little screen! Which meant I had to go back to the beginning and start all over again which I must say it did throw me off my game somewhat! The only blessing was that I preferred the starting walk up the church path the second time around but preferred the walk around the back and side of the church from the first recording (hence the jump cut by the church porch).

Second incident...(Hence the thumbnail) I had a little bit of trouble with a couple of cattle within a herd...it was totally my own fault as I should have turned around and headed back once I spotted them. However initially when I entered their field I did not see them straight away. Earlier on I had walked down through the fields from Leckhampton Hill to familiarise myself with the route and reach my target starting point, at that time all the fields were empty of cattle. As I approached them it appeared that they were just as weary of me as I was them as a few of them run off away from me. A few seconds later It was a couple of bulls that appeared to be not very happy to see me. They seemed to charge at me which you can hear but not entirely caught on camera as it was facing forwards as I was looking back to see how close they were getting to me. It might not have helped that I had a red back pack on (or is that just a myth?). My instinct told me not to run, which apparently was the right thing to do, going on my own research later that evening. As I approached the stile to the next adjourning field there were also bulls but I had already learnt a valuable lesson and gave them a wide berth. Does anyone else think that the second bull that came up to me at the stile looked really sad?

You may well notice that my breathing is laboured during this video, which is due to having to binaural microphones in fairly close proximity to my mouth, you can hear how loud my footsteps are, so you can imagine just how much the mics pick up breathing sounds. Also the gradients are a lot steeper then the camera depicts. I should also mention that during this walk and the subsequent 4 - 5 walks I was ill. It felt like a chest infection! I am all good now though :)

All in all I felt like this was quite a messy walk, which I think was mainly due starting the walk over again. The bulls incident did not really help either. But, not to worry though because next Sunday we are off to the seaside for a blissfully relaxing and slow walk :)

Summer Sunrise Walk in a Cotswold Village

Out and about Walking 2024-11-04 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village of Rodmarton which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England. The village is located about 4 miles north-east of Tetbury and 6 miles west of Cirencester. Cirencester is the postal town for the village. At the last census the village had a population of 333. The local church is dedicated to St Peter.

A Winter Morning Walk in a Captivating Cotswold Village

Out and about Walking 2024-07-16 | Today we are stepping back from the midst of summer to the tail end of winter in a small Cotswold village and civil parish called Ampney St Mary which is located in Gloucestershire, England. In 2011 the village had a population of 218 according to the census of that year.

Flowing near the village is the Ampney Brook which is also near to the villages of Ampney Crucis and Ampney St Peter. Locally the village is known as the "Ashbrook".

Cirencester is the post town for the village.

This walk was filmed within the last week of January 2024.

Almost too Beautiful to be True || English Cottages

Out and about Walking 2024-07-09 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village and parish of Great Tew which is located in Oxfordshire, England. The village is about 5 miles (8 km) north-east of Chipping Norton and 8 miles (13 km) south-west of Banbury. In 2011 the population in the village was 156.

The parish church of St Michael and all Angels is of Norman origins. The south doorway dates back to 1170 and still stands today. The church tower has a ring of eight bells.

In terms of local amenities there are the Falkland Arms public house which is mostly 17th century and a general store which also doubles as a café - these are all perfect for a summer's day pitstop when out and about walking in the Cotswolds. There used to be a sub-post office within the store.

It has to be said that this walk is arguably one of the finest to date, the morning sunlight really helped create an extra special atmosphere to this stunning village. Shot in 4K HDR with Binaural Sound.

Out and about Walking 2024-07-01 | So, today we are out and about walking in the village and civil parish of Ebrington (also known as Yabberton by locals) which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England. The village is approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) from Chipping Camden. According to the 2011 census the village population stood at 570.

The parish church is dedicated to Saint Eadburga. Although the church is mainly perpendicular in shape it still retains some Norman work in the north and south doorways. The church is Grade I listed.

Out and about Walking 2024-06-24 | So, today we are out and about walking in the village and civil parish of Sutton Courtenay which is located on the River Thames just 2 miles (3 km) south of Abingdon-on-Thames and also 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Didcot. In 2011 the parish's population was 2,421.

All Saints is the parish church which dates back to the 12th century. In the churchyard Eric Arthur Blair is buried also known as 'George Orwell'.

A Fairy Taleesque English Village || Early Morning Walk

Out and about Walking 2024-06-17 | So, today we are out and about walking once again in the pretty Cotswold village of Lower Slaughter, which is located in Gloucestershire, England. It is located 4 miles South West of Stow-on-the-Wold and has a population of just under 200. The River Eye runs through the centre of the village. The village is home to the Lords of the Manor Hotel which dates back to 1649. Lower Slaughter has its own parish church which is the Church of St Peter.

Start Your Day with a Sunshine Walk in a Mesmerising Cotswold Town

Out and about Walking 2024-06-11 | So, today we are out and about walking in the market town of Fairford which is located in the Cotswold hills, Gloucestershire, England and is 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Lechlade, 9 miles (14 km) north of Swindon and 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Cirencester. As seen in the video the River Coln runs through Fairford. In 2011 the town had a population of just over 3,200.

The parish church is dedicated to Saint Mary. The church was rebuilt in around 1490.

Each summer the very popular International Air Tattoo is held at Fairford in which aircraft from all the globe takes part. The air show is usually held over three days.

Recently we have had quite a run of rain walks so this one makes for a bit of a contrast as the sky is clear and the sun is shining.

Rainy Night Walk in the Gateway to the Cotswolds - BURFORD - ENGLAND

Out and about Walking 2024-06-06 | So, this evening we are out and about walking in the Cotswold town and civil parish of Burford, which is located in the west of Oxfordshire, England. Burford is 18 miles (29 km) west of Oxford and 22 miles (35 km) southeast of Cheltenham.

Burford is often referred to as the 'gateway' to the Cotswolds. It has quite an eclectic mixture of architecture, everything from typical Cotswold Stone cottages through to a baroque-style town house which was recently the Methodist Church (the building that we peer through the front gates in the video). It looks like it has been recently sold! The population of the town in 2011 was 1,422.

One of the most popular buildings in the town is the parish church - St John the Baptist. It is a Grade I listed building. In 1649 the church was used a prison to hold mutineers from the New Model Army Banbury.

As the A361 road runs through the centre of Burford, it makes for an incredibly busy thoroughfare regardless of the time of day (also the town is not surprisingly & understandably very much a favourite tourist hot spot). The town has a large car park which is free to park in. I must say, I am quite taken with Burford, so much so that I returned a couple of days later for a night walk in the rain.

A Damp & Wet Start to the Day in a Picturesque Cotswolds | English Countryside | 4K

Out and about Walking 2024-06-03 | So, today we are out and about walking in the village and civil parish of Guiting Power which is located within the heart of the Cotswolds in the county of Gloucestershire in the UK. The village sits halfway between Stow-on-the-Wold & Cheltenham. The Post town is Cheltenham.

According to the 2011 census the village then had a population of 296. For a village that is relatively small it has many local amenities which include a village hall, a children's nursery (built in 1872 and first used as a school before closing), a shop, a Post Office, a bakery and also two public houses (the Farmer's Arms and the Hollow Bottom).

The local church is St Michael and all Angels which is situated on the south end of the village and is of a Norman origin dating back as far as the 12th century.

Guiting Power hosts its own music festival each year in the month of July comprising of classical, jazz and folk music.

You will find in this video that there is no sound of rain fall on an umbrella, this is because for this walk I did not use an umbrella, which I thought made for a refreshing change.

Early Morning Walk in a Sleepy Cotswold Village || ENGLISH Countryside

Out and about Walking 2024-05-26 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village and parish of Snowshill which is a civil parish located near Broadway in the county of Gloucestershire, England. In 2011 the village had a population of just over 160. The Post town for Snowshill is Broadway.

Snowshill is well know for it's manor house and a large lavender farm.

The parish church is dedicated to St Barnabas. The church was rebuilt in 1864.

A Dreary, Cold & Wet Morning Walk in a Town Where Time Has Stopped

Out and about Walking 2024-05-20 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold town and civil parish of Charlbury which is located in west Oxfordshire in the county of Oxfordshire, England. The town is situated in the Evenlode valley and about 6 miles (10 km) north of Witney. In 2011 the town had a population of 2,830. Charlbury's post town is Chipping Norton.

The town's parish church is St Mary the Virgin. The church appears to date back to the eleven hundreds when it belonged to Eynsham Abbey.

This walk was filmed sometime ago, as you will be able to tell by the trees being bare. Unfortunately there is one jump cut in the film purely because I completely messed up a shot and I felt that the film would not benefit from leaving it it in.

During the walk I spotted an old proverb "One who moves to hurriedly, misses the way"...that really fits in well with this channel :). See if you can spot it too!

I had Bibury all to myself!

Out and about Walking 2024-05-14 | So, today we are out and about walking once more in the world famous Cotswold village of Bibury which is located in Gloucestershire, England. The village is located 6 1/2 miles (10.5 km) northeast of Cirencester.

Bibury is arguable one the most iconic tourist destinations in the Cotswolds and receives many-many thousands of visitors every year from all over the globe. The one attraction that really makes Bibury stand out is the world famous Arlington Row, which is a row of cottages originally built in 1380 as a monastic wool store and then converted in the 17th century to weavers cottages. Today, Arlington Row is managed and owned by the National Trust.

Besides Arlington Row, Bibury has other attractions including the Trout Farm.

Why such a bold title for this video? Well, simply because this morning walk is arguably a one in a million due to the very fact that for the entire duration not a single vehicle passed through the village (as far as I could tell) and also not one other person was encountered along the way, this is an incredible rarity in Bibury! Just a couple of hours after filming, coaches full of tourists were flocking into the village and it was crazy busy! Also the wildlife seemed to be the loudest I have ever heard in Bibury. Sadly though, the tranquillity was slightly marred by the man-made noise of an airliner in the distance, which is heard in the last 5 minutes or so of the walk.

Exploring the Wonders & Charms of ENGLAND - The Market Town of Ledbury - Walking Tour

Out and about Walking 2024-05-07 | So, today we are out and about walking in the historic market town and civil parish of Ledbury which is located in the county of Herefordshire, England. Ledbury lies west of the Malvern Hills and east of Hereford.

Ledbury dates back as far as AD 690 and is mentioned in the Domesday Book under the name Liedeberge. The town is highly characterised by timber-framed Tudor style buildings. There is one structure in particular that stands out and that is the market hall which was built in 1617.

This might be the first walk whereby we have visited the parish church twice within the walk and what a stunning church St Michael and All Angels is!

This walk was filmed on a cold & drizzly morning and with no umbrella, hence why you will see the camera lens periodically being wiped clean.

Walking on a Moonlit & Rainy Night || Black & White Aesthetic

Out and about Walking 2024-05-05 | So, today we are out and about walking in Cirencester again! This time in the old grounds of Cirencester Abbey.

It is fair to say that this walk is somewhat experimental in the sense that it combines two walks into one, which I have to say is something I personally have never seen before here on YouTube! Also, this is the first time I have uploaded a film that is entirely in black & white. I think for night time walks converting colour to black & white works well but I'm sure this will be very subjective. The two walks were actually filmed many months apart. I have tried my best to line the two walks up so that they connect smoothly between cuts.

Would you like to see more night walks in monochrome? I would very much like to hear your thoughts and feedback.

The Augustine Abbey of St Mary in Cirencester was founded in 1117 and was demolished in the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539.

Midnight Walk in a Churchyard || ASMR

Out and about Walking 2024-05-01 | So, today we are out and about walking after midnight in Cotswold churchyard. If you have been walking with this channel for a while now then you will know that I try to keep the walking content varied by adding an occasional walk you might not see too often here on YouTube. I realise that this walk will be a minority walk and will probably have a limited audience. Having said that, If this kind of walk appeals to you and you would like to see maybe more longer walks in and around church grounds after midnight, then please let me know in the comments section. Personally, I find church yards to be extremely peaceful, soothing and relaxing places but for some people they can be a painful reminder of losing a loved one in which case I would highly advise not watching this video (this is why I now add timestamps of entering & exiting churchyards in the daytime walks). I am very much also captivated and in awe of the sheer brilliance of the architectural magnitude of these historical sites.

All Saints Church is located in the village & parish of North Cerney in the County of Gloucestershire, England. It is 4 miles north of Cirencester. The church dates back to the 12th century, with renovations and work carried out in the 15th and 20th centuries. The denomination is Church of England.

Walking Amongst Nature || Bluebells & Birdsong

Out and about Walking 2024-04-25 | So, today we are out and about walking once more in an old favourite location - The Ancient Woodland.

Once more the bluebell season is here again and what are welcoming sight it is! And also a natural sign that warmer climes are finally on the way and we can look forward in due course to some nice summer evening walks in the countryside & villages as well as the early morning walks.

In this video I have trialled something a little bit different and as many of you know me quite well by now, I do like to try and think outside the box. If you enjoy seeing this extra dimension to the walks then perhaps I could also include it now and again in some of the future village walks. I think the key though will be to use this technique sparingly. Please let me know any thoughts and suggestions you may have :)

An Unforgettable Early Morning Walk in a Beautiful Village || ENGLAND

Out and about Walking 2024-04-22 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village and civil parish of Lacock, which is located four miles south of Chippenham in Wiltshire.

Lacock is probably one of the most beautiful & picturesque villages in England. The village is owned by the National Trust. Over the years several TV shows & films have used Lacock as a filming location, which is not surprising as it really is like stepping back in time which is perfect for period dramas etc...

Lacock's Abbey is also a very popular tourist attraction. The abbey dates back to the early 13th Century, founded by Ela the Countess of Salisbury. There is also a parish church - St Cyriac. The village population is under 200 people.

Walking to a Disused Railway Tunnel on a Windy Day || Super MUDDY!

Out and about Walking 2024-04-10 | So, today we are out and about for some midday walking in the Forest of Dean which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England (predominately the western side of Gloucestershire). The Forest of Dean covers a large area - approximately 42 miles (110 km) which is a triangular shaped plateau bounded by the River Wye to the west and northwest, Herefordshire to the north, the River Severn to the south, and the City of Gloucester to the east.

The goal of this walk was to find the Mierystock disused railway tunnel and take a brief look at it. Building of the tunnel commenced in the summer of 1872 and was completed 1874. The railway provided a link between the Great Western’s network and Gloucestershire’s Severn & Wye railway lines. The railway line was closed in 1956. The tunnel is 242 yards long.

For this walk. I did not use the usual camera - DJI Pocket 3, instead I used an action camera due to rain and 50 mph winds being forecast. As it transpired tho it did not rain and it was not as windy as I was hoping for! One good thing about using an action camera was there did not appear to be as much up and down vertical bounce...see what you think and please let me know in the comment section.

THIS is ENGLAND || EXPLORING the Riverside Town of Upton-upon-Severn

Out and about Walking 2024-04-01 | So, today we are out and about walking in the town and parish of Upton upon Severn, which is located in the Malvern Hills district in the county of Worcestershire, England. The town is 5 miles (8 km) southeast of Malvern and is situated on the west bank of the River Severn. In 2021 the town's population stood at 2,903.

The curious looking tower with the copper cupola that we see during this walk is the remains of a former church - St Peter & St Paul. The nave of the church was demolished in 1937. The design was by Sir Arthur Blomfield. The structure is known locally as the "Pepperpot".

Due to the close town's close proximity to the River Severn it is well known for serious flooding, just a matter of days after filming here river levels significantly rose, The Swan Hotel was flooded due to pump failure. Read the full article here :

Night Walk in the Heart of the Cotswolds || Broadway || ENGLAND

Broadway is one of the top tourist locations in the Cotswolds which is unsurprising given the pretty frontages of the shops & houses. This village has a feeling of timelessness about it.

A Honey Coloured Village set in Beautiful ENGLISH Countryside

Out and about Walking 2024-03-18 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village & parish of Ampney St Peter, which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England. In 2014 the village had a population of 75.

The parish church is dedicated to St Peter. The church is Grade II listed and has late Saxon origins.

Walking in Bourton-on-the-Water on a Rainy Night || Cotswolds

Out and about Walking 2024-03-14 | So, this evening we are out and about walking in the very popular tourist location of Bourton-on-the-Water which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England.

I believe this is now our fourth visit to Bourton and a second night walk here. It is one of those locations that I don't think I will ever tire of but having said that, I could well say the same about the majority of Cotswold locations that we visit. During the daytime Bourton often sees a high number of tourists, although there might be a decline in tourists this coming summer due to the ongoing coach parking saga!

It is easy to see why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice of the Cotswolds due to the shallow River Windrush flowing through the village which is crossed with a sequence of ornate stone bridges which are flanked by eye catching lamp posts.

Exploring the Gateway to the COTSWOLDS || Burford

Out and about Walking 2024-03-11 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold town and civil parish of Burford, which is located in the west of Oxfordshire, England. Burford is 18 miles (29 km) west of Oxford and 22 miles (35 km) southeast of Cheltenham.

Burford is often referred to as the 'gateway' to the Cotswolds. It has quite an eclectic mixture of architecture, everything from typical Cotswold Stone cottages through to a baroque-style town house which was recently the Methodist Church (the building that we peer through the front gates in the video). It looks like it has been recently sold! The population of the town in 2011 was 1,422.

One of the most popular buildings in the town is the parish church - St John the Baptist. It is a Grade I listed building. In 1649 the church was used a prison to hold mutineers from the New Model Army Banbury.

As the A361 road runs through the centre of Burford, it makes for an incredibly busy thoroughfare regardless of the time of day (also the town is not surprisingly & understandably very much a favourite tourist hot spot). The town has a large car park which is free to park in. I must say, I am quite taken with Burford, so much so that I returned a couple of days later for a night walk in the rain.

THIS is ENGLAND || Exploring the Medieval Village of Dunster

Out and about Walking 2024-03-05 | So, today we have strayed away from the Cotswolds in search of which may well be the most photographed & Instagrammable thatched cottage in England! For this we find ourselves out and about walking in the village and civil parish of Dunster which is located in the north-eastern boundary of the Exmoor National Park which just sits in the West of Somerset which is in the South West of England. Exmoor also is part of North Devon.

In 2011 the village had a population of 817. The village is 4 km (2.5 miles) southeast of Minehead and 32 km (20 miles) northwest of Taunton.

The Priory Church of St George is 15th century and is a Grade I listed building.

Dunster is said to be the largest and most intact medieval villages in England. It has over 200 listed buildings! It seems that no matter where you are in the village there is always something eye catching to see!

One of the major attractions in Dunster is Dunster Castle which is operated by the National Trust. The village in it's heyday was a centre for the wool and cloth trade. A present day reminder of this is the Yarn Market which was built by George Luttrell. The Luttrell family were synonymous with Dunster as they occupied the castle for some generations. The National Trust acquired the castle in 1976 from Colonel Walter Luttrell.

Dunster caught my eye after seeing a segment on ITV West Country News featuring a thatched cottage called "Rose Cottage" and it's owner (the cottage shown in the video thumbnail). It is well worth watching as the owner of the property (Dennis Coath) is interviewed and gives us a heartwarming insight in which he talks about the history of the cottage and also you get a brief look and sense into what the cottage looks like on the inside - It is stunning! Dennis is a former ITV reporter and now retired he is a full time author with three books published, which he talks about during his interview. I think you will agree...what a lovely chap Dennis is!

You may well notice that I picked up the pace a little during the last 10 minutes of the walk, this was because my camera was running dangerously low on battery and it was absolutely vital that I reached the planned finishing point as I thought it would make for quite a nice way to bring the walk to an end.

A Damp & Dark Morning Walk Through a Cotswold Village & Countryside || ENGLAND

Out and about Walking 2024-02-27 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village of Farmington which is located in Gloucestershire, England. Farmington is approximately 2 miles from the town Northleach. In 2011 the population in the village was 112. The church of St Peter was built in the 12th century and is Grade I listed.

We see the church at 33:15 and stay there until the walk ends.

It was lightly raining when starting the walk but then stopped around the time of reaching the Festival of Britain bus shelter. Not long after I tried closed my umbrella whilst holding the camera which turned into a bit of a mess, hence the jump cut! Also around this time or maybe just before the camera lens seemed to mist up a bit but then cleared at around 20:40 when entering the field.

Although there is no hidden OAAW logo in this video there is one large logo which was used to camouflage a skip.

A Night Walk in the Rain in a COTSWOLD Town || ENGLAND || 4K HDR

Out and about Walking 2024-02-22 | So, on this rainy evening we are out and about walking in the capitol of the Cotswolds - The market town of Cirencester. Cirencester is located 80 miles (130 km) west of London. The town is situated on the River Churn (a tributary of the River Thames) and also lies on the lower slopes slopes of the Cotswold Hills. In 2021 the population in Cirencester stood at 20,229.

Cirencester has an incredible amount of history to it, and is well worth a deep delve and look into. The town was thought to be first referenced by Ptolemy in AD 150. The town is well known for it's Royal Agriculture College which was founded in 1840.

The parish church is St John the Baptist. Construction of the church was started in the 12th century. It is a Grade I listed building. The church is not seen during this particular walk but there are forthcoming video walks in which it is seen.

At 08:48 we see the Corinium Hotel, which is a lovely hotel should you need somewhere to stop over night in Cirencester.

Soak up the Serene Atmosphere of Rural ENGLAND on a Misty Morning

Out and about Walking 2024-02-19 | So, today we are out and about walking for a revisit in the Cotswold hamlet of Caudle Green in Gloucestershire, England. Caudle Green is seven miles south of the Spa town of Cheltenham and five miles east of the historic town of Painswick. Cheltenham is the post town for Caudle Green.

Caudle Green feels like a village that is un-spoilt, timeless and very charming, with its beautiful honey coloured Cotswold stone cottages and walls with clear roads. The surrounding countryside is perfect for a relaxing walk / ramble at any time of the year.

A Tranquil Early Morning Walk in a Serene Cotswold Village.

Out and about Walking 2024-02-11 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village and civil parish of Chastleton. The village is located in Oxfordshire, England and about 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Stow-on-the-Wold. The village is in the far northwest of Oxfordshire and very close to the boundaries of Warwickshire and Gloucestershire. At the time of the 2011 census the Parish's population was 153. The post town for Chastleton is Moreton-in-Marsh.

The parish church Saint Mary the Virgin was built in the latter part of the 12th century. Some renovation work was carried out in the 14th century and then the south bell tower was added in 1689. The church is a Grade II listed building.

Most of our walks feature local churches and churchyards but for some viewers they might not be so keen on seeing these sections of the walks and the churchyards especially, which may be for many reasons including and not limited to personal. To alleviate this, I will be placing a time stamp in videos from now on, which will correlate to exiting from a church / churchyard. Today the local church is entered at around the 4 min mark and exiting takes place at 10:51 .

The fine looking house next to the church is Chastleton House, it is noted to be one of England's most finest & complete Jacobean houses. It is Grade I listed and was built / completed in 1612. For many generations it was occupied by the Jones family but is now under the ownership & care of the National Trust. The house was opened to the public in 1997.

Sadly, we don't have the usual high quality binaural audio for this walk as the recording did not come out, all I got was just one second of audio from the binaural mics, I think what probably happened was I pressed record on the separate audio recorder but then accidentally pressed stop shortly after - most likely due to having gloves on I suspect! So the audio you are hearing is from in-camera - Sorry!

An Enigmatic Morning Walk in the COTSWOLD village of Idbury

Out and about Walking 2024-02-04 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village and civil parish of Idbury. The village is located in the county of Oxfordshire, England. Idbury is approximately 4.5 miles (7 km) southeast of Stow-on-the-Wold which is in the county of Gloucestershire. The parish also includes the hamlets of Bould & Foscot. At the time of the 2011 census the total population stood at 240.

The village church is dedicated to St Nicholas and is of Church of England denomination. It was originally built in the Norman era but very little remains of the building from then except for the north doorway. The church is Grade I listed.

It is fair to say that this walk may be my favourite so far. In the opening scene I was totally mesmerised by the dawn sky with the crisscrossing of jet trails with an accompanying soundtrack of beautiful birdsong, hence why I found it difficult to pull myself away from this scene which resulted in the longest intro so far on the channel! Idbury is a charming little village with an air of mystery & intrigue about it.

A Freezing Morning Cotswold Walk in the Village of Saintbury

Out and about Walking 2024-01-28 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village and civil parish of Saintbury which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England. At the time of the 2011 Census the population was 83. The post town for the village is Broadway.

The village church is dedicated to St Nicholas. It was built in the 13th century and is Grade I listed. The village was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 under the name Suineberie.

On the morning of filming it was bitterly cold, in fact below zero! I was hoping for a much heavier frost but sadly it did not materialise. You may well notice a couple of jump cuts fairly on in the walk...the first one was because I was waiting for a grocery van driver to make his delivery and the second was when I stopped to have a little chat with a resident from within the village.

A Very Late Night Christmas Walk in a COTSWOLD Village | No One Around

Out and about Walking 2024-01-24 | So, in this video we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water which was within minutes of bidding farewell to Christmas Day and hello Boxing Day.

Why post a Christmas walk nearly at the end of January? Well, two reasons...in just eleven months from today it will be Christmas Eve again :D, also with so many videos being published during the festive season, it is easy for a video to get submerged in the plethora of Xmas videos and as this is a very low key Xmas walk, thought it best to let the rush die down as so to speak. Also, because this walk was so late at night not a single person is seen and no Christmas music is heard! But we can hear the gentle sound of flowing water from the River Windrush and we also see the moon light the clouds in night sky during the walk.

A Morning Walk Under a Grey Blanket of Cloud | COTSWOLDS

Out and about Walking 2024-01-21 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold Hamlet of Far Oakridge, which is one of five hamlets derived from the village of Oakridge. Oakridge falls under the civil parish of Bisley-with-Lypiatt. Oakridge is located on the outskirts of Stroud in the county of Gloucestershire, England. Going on the amount of houses here I am guessing the population of this hamlet to be under 100.

In the last few minutes of this walk it started raining...I did not have an umbrella with me but knowing I was nearly at the finishing point, I risked it by ploughing on (the risk was my camera getting damaged as it is not waterproof), fortunately it was not heavy rain but just a light shower.

This video nearly did not get published as I was not really feeling this walk, occasionally this happens to me...please let me know in the comments your thoughts on it.

BIBURY like you have NEVER seen Before - The Difference is NIGHT & DAY - Cotswolds Night Walk

Out and about Walking 2024-01-19 | So, today we are out and about walking after midnight in the Cotswold village and parish of Bibury, which is located in Gloucestershire, England. The village is located 6 1/2 miles (10.5 km) northeast of Cirencester.

Bibury is arguable one the most iconic tourist destinations in the Cotswolds and receives many-many thousands of visitors every year from all over the globe. The one thing that really makes Bibury stand out is the world famous Arlington Row, which is a row of cottages originally built in 1380 as a monastic wool store and then converted in the 17th century to weavers cottages. Today, Arlington Row is managed and owned by the National Trust.

The Swan (Hotel) is a former coaching inn, it has 22 rooms and is the perfect location for small weddings, business meetings as well as a great place to stop over if you happen to be visiting the Cotswolds. The Swan also serves great food & drink! Dogs are welcome too!

The parish Anglican Church of St Mary is at the heart of Bibury. It was built in the 11th century and is Grade I listed. The church is a highly visited location and see's much footfall on a daily basis.

This walk does not have the usual goal of trying to achieve one long video clip but instead it is broken up into segments by filming individual scenes/areas. This is mainly because there would of been a lot of literally nothingness as it was so pitch black in the village. All I had to light the way was a small head torch which does not have the strongest of beams. Towards the end of the video you may hear a car pulling up and headlights shine out in front of me...it was the POLICE! They came out to me to check that I was okay and also probably just to make sure that I was not up to any sort of villainy!

As this video is quite dark in terms of image brightness, the best time to watch it might be at night or in a low light environment, also headphones are highly recommended. See if you can hear an Owl! Bibury definitely has a complete different feel at night compared to daytime when the village is heaving with tourists. As far as I can tell there is no other video like this of Bibury on YouTube!

A Relaxing Morning Walk in the Cotswold Village of Withington

Out and about Walking 2024-01-14 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village and parish of Withington which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England. Withington is about 7 miles (11 km) southeast of Cheltenham and approximately 8 miles (13 km) of the Cotswold town of Cirencester. The parish also includes the hamlets of Cassey Compton, Foxcote and Hilcot. At the time of the 2011 census the total parish population was 532.

The parish church is St Michael and All Angels. It is a Grade I listed building dating back to the 12th century.

The village pub is The Mill Inn, which does very nice food and drink....well worth a visit if you are in the area. It has ample parking which is a nice bonus.

Classic COTSWOLDS on a Cold & Frosty Morning in the Village of Salperton

Out and about Walking 2024-01-07 | So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village and former parish of Salperton which is located approximately 8 miles (13 km) east of Cheltenham in the county of Gloucestershire in England. in 1931 the village had a population of 92 people. The village now comes under the parish of Hazelton. Because of the exposed position of the village it earned the nickname "Cold Salperton", it was definitely cold that morning at -7 Celsius!

We finish the walk at the war memorial, which contains the names of those from the village who lost their lives during WW1 and WW2.

This is not conclusive coverage of the village, there is still one more part to take care of...which is to be continued within the next couple of months...

Unfortunately, at the time of this recording, I really was quite ill! Which was about two weeks into an illness that lasted for approx four weeks. During this time I still carried on with recording walks (and drives @RainyNightWalks - Shameless plug!)

A Lonely New Years Eve Walk in a Darksome Castle Combe | COTSWOLDS

Out and about Walking 2024-01-02 | So, on this last day of 2023 the time is just a few minutes before midnight and Castle Combe is the location for walking from 2023 into 2024. All over the world from London, Paris, New York and Sydney to name but a few there there were massive gatherings of thousands & thousands of people celebrating the transfer into the New Year, yet here I was walking a lonely path in the dark in arguably one of England's prettiest villages which is deep in the heart of the Cotswolds. The strange thing is...I enjoyed every single second of it! It felt so peaceful & serene despite the sense of isolation and being under the cover of darkness.

Castle Combe which is located about 5 miles north-west of the town of Chippenham and in the county of Wiltshire, England. The village has approximate population of 350. The parish church is the Church of Saint Andrew which is a Grade I listed building.

Castle Combe is a heavily visited location by tourists and more so on weekends but still sees a good number of visitors even on weekdays. During this walk not a single soul is seen or any moving vehicles, something that is rarely seen in videos of Castle Combe.

In rural villages like this one where there is no street lighting it is quite tricky to film at night as it is so very dark, all I had was a small head torch which helped a little in lighting the beautiful Cotswold stone walls of the buildings.

The Wonder of Nature - A Beautiful Bluebell English Forest in the Rain with Birdsongs

Out and about Walking 2024-01-01 | So, to kick start off the very first day of 2024, we have a nice relaxation video. For some and myself included, January can seem quite a bleak, desolate and cold month. We have had the excitement of Christmas & New Year's Eve, we now need something else to look forward to. This video can help remind us that before too long there will be telltale signs of Spring emerging and new sweet beginnings, lighter nights and much more to savour & enjoy.

Although this is not a walking video, sometimes it is good just to sit there, immerse yourself into a scene by looking & listening just how incredibly beautiful nature is. How blessed we are to have such a wonderful, diverse & dynamic planet, the planet we call home.

This is one hour of video in real time and all the audio was captured at the time of filming on a Zoom h1n audio recorder.
