This project was planned to come out today, but due to my bevy of breakdowns this summer, it was unable to be completed in time. As an apology both to the audience and to Eli, I present you with a taste of the upcoming secret collab project, FLIGHT, an experiment in what happens when Eli takes the reins on sample choices. Most of the tracks on this thing were born of Eli making a request, and me doing my best to fulfill it for him, as a show of mutual support, love, and an anniversary present. [MASHUP] LK CORVUS - Dual Reaper LK CORVUS / Trixie Toppings 2024-05-03 | This mashup is now a part of the collaborative FLIGHT EP, produced in conjunction with EliasBane.In 2020, as the world was going to shit, I made a connection with someone very special - someone who has been by my side for four years now, supporting me, assisting me, and loving me unconditionally. Someone I am still so hard pressed to believe I have done anything to deserve. Someone who showed me how to be capable of having a real, solid connection with someone even face to face. He is truly the kindest, sweetest, most genuine and wholesome person I have ever even heard of, and quite possibly to ever exist, and the fact that he's in my life, every day, telling me he loves me more than anything is just too incredible to describe.We have spent our time together sharing the things that made us who we are. As part of that, he graciously indulged me by suffering through over 300 episodes of Bleach, an oxymoron of an experience for him, in order for us to experience the newest episodes together. It means more than I've been able to express that he's been so receptive to a series that he also immediately had a lot of problems with, and I know that he was able to love it because it matters so much to me. It is not recommended to view this album without a Faygo in hand.I was inducted into the Mashpit in February 2023, long before I ever expected to be, and exactly seven months before the release of this project. In the intervening seven months, I internally battled feelings of doubt and impostor syndrome, wondering how and why I could deserve the honor of Mashpit membership without any mashups released. This was a dream I'd held for a long time, but one I didn't feel I had earned in the way I wanted to.BUTTHEAD was designed, in part, to leave a lasting impression. A memorable experience where nothing is as expected. A disc full of shitposts and dumb memes followed directly by a heartfelt album of quality mashes I worked my ass off making. This project's intent is to be entertaining, but in a meaningful and unforgettable way, because like many, I worry frequently about the concept of legacy, of what I can do in my life that's going to outlive me. I will be perfectly satisfied to go out knowing I've left the world with as much joy as I can muster. But BUTTHEAD was also designed to banish the thoughts that I don't belong in the Mashpit once and for all.
