Results Day - Weary Challenge F.P.P Extra 2018-08-31 | This is my entry into the final week of Brickfilm Day's Summer Animation Contest.After watching all of the entries, I have come to find out that ‘weary’ also means extreme tiredness, lol. I was the only person to use it’s second definition of reluctance, in my animation. LEGO Scarlet Spider VS Red Hood Unedited F.P.P Extra 2022-04-03 | This video's pretty self explanatory there's not too much complicated VFX. The black parts are due to adding the second exposures for clean plates half way through the shot, I think I explained this more in depth in a previous video but it's kind of hard to understand if you haven't used it yourself. The last shot I animated was an insert shot after realising the Red Hood shots didn't cut too well as it kind of breaks the 180 degree rule. I ended up having to mask those frames anyway as the colourful lighting makes the green screen go kinda weird and not work properly, so it just was kind of pointless but I think it turned out alright anyway. I used some BrickStuff LEDs inside the streetlights in the first couple shots but for the majority of the video I just had a blue tinted LED light and an orange LED light. I started with those along with a plain white light also, but once I realised the orange background didn't work well behind two red characters I animated the white light moving away and made the background darker after each cut until it was just black, as I didn't have time to reshoot from the very beginning with a black background instead of orange. I think that's about all of the technical stuff I can explain, I don't know if anyone actually reads these but oh well I guess it's just tradition now I suppose.Watch the original video here: youtu.be/pOAqChylTV8
Lake Shore Drive - Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah in LEGO Unedited F.P.P Extra 2021-03-28 | Alright explanation time as usual. For the first shot I just sprayed water with a spray bottle on the set each frame, also the lights are Brickstuff LEDs which I used in most of the shots I did. In most of the wider shots I added clouds or the moon and the stars in the background just to add a litle depth to them as there was a lot of empty space and I wanted it to look less like a piece of paper lol. For the flashing club lights I have LED bulbs for my lamps that you can change the colour of so I just changed the colour every second (15 frames) or so. For the shot where the car drives off I used a camera arm and just moved it each frame and it resulted in a really cool shot I think. I tried to add blinks and mouths movement wherever I could even if I didn't need to just to try and make the characters feel more alive. For the long band shot I just moved the set around and the camera stayed basically still. In the shot where he walks into the club I couldn't really take apart the set corner (it's the Palce Cinema set) as it's so big and well contructed so I placed a mirror in front of the camera and filmed from a flat wall that I could take out, it may have made it just harder to animate with but I really didn't want to deconstruct & re-scontruct the entire set just to get through a corner lol, that also explains why you can see the man walk across twice, editing that shot was a pain to fix up. I tried to do camera movement for every shot I could, or I did zoom ins or outs in editing if I could, just for added effect and fluidity. The green screen shots were tricky, I had to mask some parts of them due to the lighting changes but I think they turned out alright, miles better than what I did in my Captain Marvel video at least haha. Anyway I think that covers about everything, idk if anyone actually finds these helpful or interesting but it's fun to talk about this stuff so who cares lmao. Animation Tests Unedited F.P.P Extra 2020-07-04 | Most of these were just me trying to get back into the swing of things, but there were a few new things I tried. The only real new animation/editing things I tried where the Flash clip were I moved around a BrickStuff LED light while I took the frames at a really long shutter speed and the second lightsaber clip where I tried to do the lightsaber effect myself, I think it turned out alright. But I also tried out my new coloured light bulbs, Brickstuff LED lights and a camera arm I bought but never got around to using in the Spider-Man clip, it's somewhat useful but idk if I'll use it that often because it not as mobile as I'd like. Also I kinda messed up a lot of the masking cuz the exposures were differnt on my clean plates by accident so there's no shadows and in general I just messed up some of the masking, mostly on the shadows and stuff. Captain America in LEGO Unedited F.P.P Extra 2019-09-13 | Hey everyone! This is my newest video 'Captain America in LEGO' that I created for Brickfilm Day’s Avengers event, completely unedited, except of course for the music, which I thought I'd add just because this is so much longer than all my other unedited videos and I didn't want it to be boring to watch haha.The most I've ever recreated is literally 1 second of animation for BFD's Bohemian Rhapsody trailer recreation, so this was definitely a step up to say the least. I worked my ass off to animate and edit all 6 minutes of this by myself, especially considering I did most of it within a month. There were many sleepless nights and I do not have any form of a sleep schedule anymore. xDFor this video I tried to do as much of the effects as I could in camera, as I'm not particularly great at VFX, besides the basics, and at least it's consistent. To animate I used an overlay type feature on Dragonframe and basically animated every frame as close to the original as I could, but sometimes I had to improvise a bit as it was hard to match it completely accurately.I think most of the stuff in this video is pretty self-explanatory because, as I said, most of the effects were practical, so there wasn't much differences between the unedited and edited clips, but I'll explain a few smaller things anyway.For masking this time around I used 2 exposures, which is basically the same as what I usually do, taking a rigged and a clean plate for every frame, but this time they export separately and are in 2 different places in the timeline. This is also why there are black frames at some of the parts that needed masking, as I only added the 2nd exposure after a few frames. It's kinda hard to explain but it's a feature on Dragonframe which is much more efficient than the method of masking I usually use so I'd recommend it.Also for TWS I masked around the red parts of Cap's suit/shield in every frame and adjusted the hue to make it silvery-blue. It's not that noticeable of an effect but I thought I may as well try to make it as accurate as I could.Every frame of the mouth animation was animated by me and was basically drawn on (it was technically masking but I won’t get into it as it’s not that elaborate haha). I probably could've made the mouths a little more realistic but it would've taken way more time, which I didn't have. I still think the end result turned out fine for the most part though.The order I filmed everything in was mostly based around sets, for example, I'd do all the forest sets for every movie, then ships interiors, outdoor shots, rooms, etc.If I could there's a few shots that I would've re-shot, such as the shot in TWS of Cap falling out of the elevator, or some of the layers in the first AOU shot, but I didn't have time to. And just in case anyone wants to know, the hardest/most time consuming shots to pull off were the Avengers circle shot, the second CW airport shot, the CW fight between Cap, Bucky & Tony and the Endgame "Avengers Assemble" shot. LEGO Captain Marvel Unedited F.P.P Extra 2019-03-08 | You can watch the original video here:youtu.be/ysChWnF8CZsSo this is 'LEGO Captain Marvel' completely unedited.By now you probably know of all of the basic 'tricks' and what not that I use but I'll just mention a few.Firstly, I only filmed one scene backwards and a few out of order.And as you could probably tell, most of the video was done with green screen. It probably would've been better to just print out a space background but I still think it turned out alright I guess.At the beginning I just animated as normal and then just edited the clips to time to the music, but then I decided to just animate to the music, which is why it just starts randomly in this version lol. I probably won't do that again, because I usually like to just animate any amount I want, but this doesn't allow you to do that. It does help you to time the animation though, so you know when exactly to start and end things. In general it was just a test, but I'm probably not going to do it again. I think it still turned out alright though. There's positives and negatives to it so if you want to try it then I suggest just testing it out to see if it works for you first.Anyway, I used my both Canon 1200D & my Logitech c920 for the first time with this video, so that's why it looks different sometimes.So yeah, thanks for watching, bye.

Logitech c920 HD Pro Webcam Tests F.P.P Extra 2019-01-12 | So I got a Logitech c920 HD Pro Webcam to use for my videos. It's not gonna be my main camera, I'll still be using my Canon 1200D for most stuff, but I really like the way animations on webcams look for some reason and so I got this for other shots. This was my first time animating with it and I got basically everything figured out except for one thing; light flicker. I think it's because it's all automatic but even when I lock and customise the exposure and stuff it still changes the exposure and colour of the image at random points. So any help with that with these types of webcams would be GREATLY appreciated. This isn't my best animation obviously, I was just testing the camera and barely tried with the animation. So ye, bye.

So just in case any of you are confused or wondering, here are some explanations:- There is no colour grading, motion blur or camera shake.- There's no VFX or masking.- Obviously there is no sound effects or music.- Some of the clips were filmed out of order (as it was easier to animate that way).- Some of the clips were filmed backwards (as it was easier to animate that way).- There's some frames that were kinda janky and out of place, so some of those were taken out and fixed in the final product (sometimes Dragonframe shows these weird and out of place frames when you export it, but not when your animating, so that's what those frames are).- There was one clip that I actually exported and decided to reshoot, as the first one sucked, but I kept it in in this version.- Even just simple touches up and fixes all throughout the video, to make it look cleaner and what not.So yeah, this is all just the order that I filmed each shot in and there is no editing done to this at all.
