Why I remade my furry characters into humans Awrly 2024-01-12 | Hello! I apologise if my voice sounds annoying, but i figured it would be better to voice it than write it all down in text blocks. Since I am still popular only for doing furry animations from from the past and some people are still surprised about the change, I decided to make this explanation video. (Its my first time doing this don’t eat me) In the past, I also asked people not to draw my characters as furries anymore, as I didn’t want to see them as cats since I redesigned them. Now, I realise that I can’t erase that part of my life where I created stuff on the internet, and without it I wouldn’t be where I am now. I realise that I can’t disallow people to draw anything, so if you’d like, you can still draw them as cats, just mind that it’s their OLD design and I will not be drawing them like that anymore Fun fact, on the first picture of the video, it’s the first time that I drew Akira as a cat since the redesign. When I made her a human, I was worried I would miss her eventually, but still went for it, and actually, I didn’t have the need to draw her as a cat again, as her human form was much closer to me since. As I said in the video, it’s okay if you prefer them as cats. But it’s not what I want to be known for my whole life. Even if i don’t get as much recognition as I did before, I am very much happier with my work and I am grateful for the all the people that are still here with me. 5 years of animating Awrly 2023-08-11 | This makes me feel way too nostalgic. It’s been a long time, friends. 0:00 - 20180:21 - 20191:07 - 20201:20 - 20211:47 - 20222:02 - 2023(TLTR bellow) Today, it’s been exactly 5 years since I decided to upload my first animation on YouTube. Although there were a few attempts before that as well, after my first upload, the journey really began. When I was starting out, the idea of making a movie with Akira one day was motivating me. I tried to start a few times, but always ended up failing, however, the support that people have given me made me not give up on animating. Instead, I started making short and easier animations, which taught me some basics. I was stuck in the phase of animating the same thing over and over for a long time, which made me feel burned out and bad, but after redesigning my characters, I felt much more determined to try to animate again. Before you will bother with commenting that you liked the cat-dragon characters better, that is okay. Just keep in mind that I am not bringing them back and I am so much happier with them being humans, as they are more relatable, they can express themselves more, they are challenging and fun to draw, and I am not ashamed of them anymore. I feel like the characters themselves and their story has so much more potential when they are this way.The cat-dragon versions of them played a huge role when I started with animating, but I decided to move on, and you should too. Although I don’t make as much videos as I used to, I still put my time and heart into them. If you don’t like them simply because “they’re not what they used to be”, then I am sorry, but I will continue to animate what I enjoy and what I feel like makes me improve, even just a bit, because I don’t want to feel again like I am just doing the same thing over and over and not moving anywhere, just because people say that they like it. I want to improve and have fun, show people pieces of stories, and also get better, so I can create something big one day.If you read all of that, wow. WAITING - short animated film (FlipaClip) Awrly 2023-06-15 | This a short film about people that got a dog, but after it grew up, they never paid attention to him. Each day they would come back late from work and then close the doors behind them, so the dog would spend his life waiting for them to get back. For a long time now, I’ve been wanting to do a short animated film, but I wasn’t sure if I would be able to finish it once I would try to start, as I did a few times. At the same time, I wanted to try working on something more serious. I wanted to do something not too complicated first, to see if I would be capable of even finishing it, and the fact that I did made me feel like I am capable of doing something more complex. I am not specifically happy with the result, but I am very happy that I finished it. Soon it will be 9 months since I started working on this project, which was a lot more than I was expecting. Being 16 and trying to manage this and my results at school as well was quite a challenge and in the middle of working on this I had to take a few months break because of exams and the want to also try other things. Because I am pissed with copyright, I made the silly music myself, sorry if it doesn’t sound very professional, but I feel like it is not that horrible, as it fits the animation, or at least I think so. Looking at it now, even if it took so long and it differs from my expectations, I feel happy about it. And at the same time, I am happy that I have it over with. It was a little painful but useful experience that I learned from. Since then, i’ve been feeling much more connected with them and actually enjoyed drawing them again. VIRUS - AMV/animation meme (FlipaClip and Procreate) Awrly 2021-01-26 | Please don’t repost my animations without permission. (This includes compilations, reactions, etc.)Since the year 2018 when I started animating, all I animated were head bobbing furries. This is my first attempt at animating humans and it’s the biggest project that I’ve done so far. It is also my entry for @grayscaleocelot ’s animation meme contest but it’s more of a AMV I guess since I used the full song and didn’t loop the animation. I am not going to stop using Akira and I am not dropping the Roses and Sunflowers story that I want to make someday, I just wanted to create a new story and improve at drawing humans. This was completely out of my comfort zone but I really wanted to try something new and I am happy that I finished it. It was pain, fun, and stressful at the same time but I feel pretty proud of the result. I hate some of the parts but I didn’t have enough time to remake them so I hope that’s okayI worked really hard on this and I will definitely take a break from big projects (after I finish the long PMV that I dropped so I could join this contest), but because I feel very unmotivated to make more long projects at the moment, I’ll make a couple animation memes or short AMV’s until I’ll feel determined to work on it again.Also if you’re new, animation memes are not memes.
