Alfie and Tyler’s 1st mountain hike daron linney 2024-06-28 | A hike in the Berwyns with my son and grandsons.. Alfie @AlfiePrimeBoy14 Tyler and Oliver. A fantastic day out covering around 7 miles with quite a bit of elevation gain. It was Alfie’s and Tyler’s first mountain walk. Oliver being a little older has done a few few more. Well done lads, I’m very proud of you all.

Tarp and bivy summit camp daron linney 2022-09-12 | I started from the lovely Welsh village of Llangynog which is nestled in the Tanant valley beneath the steeply incised mountains that surround it. I then took the familiar path through woodland to emerge the other side on the open hill side. My next target was the steep climb to Y Clogydd ( always gets the lungs going) next I descended to the spectacular Pistyll Rhaeder water fall before crossing the valley to ascend beneath the crags of Cerrig Poethion. Next stop was Llyn Lluncaws where I collected water from the out flowing stream. Then came the steep climb to Moel Sych where I enjoyed a spectacular camp. Strong winds came in during the night but the Nordisk Voss 5 ulw coped very well. Return was via a very overgrown path alongside the Afon Disgynfa where I crossed via a bridge which is not shown on the os maps. A walk along the crags of Craig y mwn provided a very atmospheric return to my outgoing route.

Tarp and bivy Dduallt Wildcamp snowdonia daron linney 2022-06-27 | A 2 day I night wildcamping trip to the Southern Arenigs in snowdonia North wales. Started in Rhydymain. This is a very wild, rugged and not often visited area of Snowdonia north wales. The walking is hard with sections off path through bilberry, tussock and bog, probably why it’s not visited by a lot off folk… suits me as I enjoy the solitude at the expense of tough walking… in fact I saw no one for the whole trip.
Wildcamping the Hebog ridge. daron linney 2022-06-19 | A 2 night trip to snowdonia taking in the whole of the Hebog ridge using the Nordisk Voss 5 ulw tarp and the outdoor research helium bivy. 1st night camped on the lower slopes of Trum y Ddysgl. 2 nd day I went over Moel Lefn, Moel yr Ogof, Moel Hebog, Bryan Banog, before heading out to the last summit of Moel - ddu where I set up my 2nd camp. Return route was via Cwm Oerddwr, Aberglaslyn woods, Beddgelert forest the back to Rhyd Ddu.

Over night the wind really picked up with gusts to 50 mph plus. Packed away as soon as it was light enough. The Notch handled it well, was right on the limit.. no damage to the Notch. Tarptent Notch Li & Fuji XT4. daron linney 2021-05-02 | Day 1 of my recent trip to Snowdonia. started near the Watkins path, went round Llyn Dinas then ascended towards Moel y Dyniewyd before dropping down to the Nanmor then ascending to Yr Arddu. I pitched the first night higher uo over looking Llyn yr Arddu. the next day I continued on to Cnicht then over to Ysagafell wen, where I spent the 2nd night. I returned over mostly pathless ground past the lovely lakes of Llynnau r Cwn to Clogwyn Drain before dropping down to pick up the lane back to the A 498 where I'd parked. A wonderful trip in almost solitude.
