The track has been identified as AscotAscot Park, first named Los Angeles Speedway and later New Ascot Stadium, was a dirt racetrack located near Gardena, California. Ascot Park was open between 1957 and 1990. The track held numerous United States Auto Club (USAC) national tour races and three NASCAR Grand National (now NASCAR Cup Series) races. The Turkey Night Grand Prix was held at the track for several decades.

This rare footage shows the last recognized Sultan - Jamalul Kiram II - He died in 1936, after he passed away the Philippine Government stopped payments and recognition of the Sultanate position. Coincidently after this time, Jolo became a more active hotspot area in the Philippines. The company Nu-Art that produced the "Fireside movies" was active in the late 20's thu the early 60's.. There is no history of this company after the early 1960s I could find onlineThe film is a little shaky at times, but still has neat historical value...

Very rare footage - 1965 thunderbird Downs Las Vegas Nevada Horse race markum jones 2025-09-02 | This is pretty much the only known footage I could find anywhere on the internet, nothing to be found of the short lived Thunderbird downs Horse racing track - This is from October 17th 1965 - The 9th race of the day.. The track closed forever in November of 1965. The track was demolished in 1966 and redeveloped into the Las Vegas Country club... The track was an extension of the thunderbird hotel...

Taiwan 1961 - Street scenes - Parade, Formosa, military bases - Foreign family living in Taiwan markum jones 2025-02-16 | This is one video of 4 I have from one family - they were in Thailand, Laos, Hong Kong and Taiwan in 1961 - I think this is a British and not American family living abroad - Also not sure of his role in these countries - he seems to interact with the military - but always in civilian clothes, also a few shots of a Christian church, so maybe involved with religion.. Some neat early street scenes and shots of local people as well as of the Foreign family interacting with locals, Parade scenes etc..

I am not sure who the Expat family is in this video - but he is always in civilian clothes, interacting sometimes with Military, some times with churches - maybe someone from the US or European State departments, a religious mission or something like that?There are some nice street scenes, a bit of fuzz on the camera used to film this 8mm video in the early part of the film - Also he has a few shaky scenes, but overall a nice glimpse into the past of Taiwan
