I wake up outside Zobran, where I camped for the night, and start early. The trail quickly turns into chaos as I pass through a recently burned forest, dragging my bike and panniers over fallen trees. After endless climbs, I reach Bilecik, where I finally manage to do laundry and take a shower. The next day brings more steep climbs and remote villages, with Ayran becoming my main fuel. Leaving my forest camp above Osmaneli, I fight through steep dirt climbs before reaching a village mosque to refill water, wash up, and refuel on borlotti beans. In the afternoon, I stock up again at an A101 before facing confusion on the riverside trail, forcing me to take the alternative climb up the mountain. In Vezirhan, landslides and lack of maintenance make the official hiking route impassable by bike, so I switch to the biking trail to reach Zobran. Early in the morning, Ahmet, a friend of the trail, spots me and treats me to a proper Turkish breakfast, shows me thousand-year-old trees in the forest, and loads me up with watermelon before I finally start riding.
