Specifically Camborne the poorest town in Cornwall, during the unprecedented cost of living crisis of 2024, what I found seriously shocked me! When you think of Cornwall in the South West of the England, beautiful beaches with golden sand and blue seas come to mind. However what the tourists don't see, is that the county of Cornwall for a long time has been the most deprived and poverty stricken area of the UK. With some of the highest rates of Homelessness, Unemployment and Poverty levels to be found not only in the UK but in Europe also, Cornwall was one of only four areas within the UK that qualified for Poverty grants from the EU to assist with the community, however since Brexit these payments have stopped leaving the councils and other local authorities seriously under funded and unprepared to deal with the desperate fall out from this. Is Birmingham really one of the "Most Dangerous Places In The UK", are the negative headlines justified? With one of the most popular TV shows being set in the city "Peaky Blinders", Birmingham is known Worldwide for being home to the Shelby Family and the Peaky Blinders. Like in the hit TV show, in reality Birmingham has a notorious reputation! I start my Video in Birmingham City Centre I was surprised at the beautiful architecture on display in this UK City Centre but also shocked at the obvious signs of deprivation, crime and homelessness on the streets of this once grand industrial city. Numerous Shops are left abandoned and the doorways are filled with Homeless people and substance abusers taking shelter from the notorious British Weather. Birmingham has been at the centre of numerous negative headlines holding a reputation nationwide of being a deprived and dangerous UK city, I headed to Birmingham to explore the City and get a true understanding of real life on the streets of Birmingham and find out whether the dangerous and negative reputation Birmingham has is warranted. I headed to Residential areas within Birmingham including the "dangerous No-Go areas" of Aston and Handsworth, then headed to one of the supposed nicer neighbourhoods of Birmingham the Selly Oak Area. I managed to Street Interview a number of Locals to get an understanding of the difficulties of living in one of the "Most Dangerous Places in the UK", on my journey I interviewed a couple of American Tourists who we showed around Birmingham, it was very interesting to hear what stereotypes the Americans had of the UK, and the stark differences between the USA and Britain and the differences between British and American cultures. Watching the Americans react to British life was very interesting. The UKs DIRTIEST City - The Filthiest Street in the Britain! JoeFish 2024-03-21 | Birmingham the UK's 2nd Largest city is home to "Britain's Dirtiest Street"! The Handsworth area has been at the centre of a national media storm with one headline stating "Giant Rats Rule and Piles Of Rubbish Can Be Seen From Space!" I was seriously shocked at the poverty, deprivation and depression to be found. Lining every street there are piles of garbage, the smell in the air was overwhelming! Rampant poverty, Substance Abuse and Crime was clear to see at every turn, truly sad scenes especially for the people of Handsworth trying to go about normal life. At times during this video it felt like a nightmare... garbage everywhere, boarded up abandoned shops, overwhelming poverty, huge levels of substance abuse and crime rates through the roof! The Crime statistics for the Handsworth area are eye watering! holding some of the worst crime rates within the UK. Unfortunately the Handsworth area of Birmingham is also one of the 'poorest' areas of the United Kingdom with poverty, depression and deprivation a common sight... After a quick google search of Handsworth, Birmingham I was inundated with negative headlines about the 'Filth', 'Drug Use' and 'Violence' on the streets. What I Found on the streets of this major UK City was truly shocking and left me questioning, was it always like this in Handsworth? What happened to this area of Birmingham? I Visit NO-GO Zone in UKs Worst City To Live - Peterborough JoeFish 2024-03-17 | Peterborough has been voted amongst the Worst Places to live in the UK for many years now, this ancient cathedral city holds some of the highest crime statistics for any UK city. As we explored the city and residential areas of Peterborough including the notorious 'NO-GO' Zone and 'Red Light' area of Peterborough - Lincoln road, by day and night. I headed to this notorious crime ridden, red light district at night to gain a full understanding of how the people of Peterborough feel living in the Worst Place to live in the UK.A quick google search of the Millfield area & Lincoln road in Peterborough will overwhelm you with negative headlines!
