Passing On The Right Shoulder = Serious Mental Problems Out Here 2025-04-07 | I moved over for a motorcycle that was on the right shoulder, in the dark, on a wet I-77 North in Ohio, south of Canton. The multitude of reasons a trucker would move over for this situation (and so should everyone else) should be very obvious. Then as I always do after a hazard, I quickly returned to the right lane just as this impatient piece of trash decided to try to dart up my right side and continued to pass me on the shoulder. do not ever swerve back into the left lane if someone attempts this nonsense. This one got lucky but it will eventually run out. More highway patrol & enforcement is needed. I've written my emails & made phone calls. Still not seeing any results. Are insurance companies ok with this too? 🤔 Just have to wonder about it all.
Light Owl Strike With Truck Out Here 2025-04-07 | Location: Ohio Route 30 East, just East of Robertsville. Owl seemed to slow itself before making light contact with truck. No damage or blood or anything in contact spot. When I came back through the area a couple hours later, there was no sign of the bird, so hopefully it was ok. Animal strikes are an unfortunate part of operation.

If you have to ask why that was unsafe, well, you shouldn't be driving, but I'll tell you anyway. If the traffic ahead suddenly slows or stops for any one of a million possible reasons, you just put your vehicle in my slowing/stopping zone. It's an unreasonable gamble. Just pay attention & get in line like everyone else who isn't a piece of selfish trash. Make sure you leave some space in front of you too...not for idiots like those 2, but so that you have room to see & safely stop if needed.

There is no other explanation for this besides drugs. Very intense drugs. Tractor Trailer Truck Down Embankment Out Here 2024-03-17 | Passing the scene on 2/24/24 at 06:44 in Ohio, Interstate 77 North, just before Exit 101. It appeared that for some reason the semi truck hit the bridge wall on the left side & then went across the travel lanes & shoulder, & through the guard-rail, landing on its side down an embankment. No word in the news about the crash.

With not a single vehicle behind them, what is the rush to get in front of a full size tractor trailer that can legally weigh 80,000 pounds at 70 mph? Keep yourself out of harm's way & just wait a few more moments. Look at it this way: if you look in your rear view mirror & consider "if I emergency stop right now, can that truck also stop in time?" and the answer is "NO!", then wait until your answer is "YES!" before you move over. In this case nobody was around, so instead of applying the brakes to increase a safe distance, I was able to move over until safe distance was created.
Why Do This? Out Here 2024-03-17 | There is never a time when pulling so close in front of a 60 mph truck is a good idea. I immediately applied the brakes when this driver pulled in front of me. Didn't look close? This dash camera gives that illusion. Count the second(s) on the dotted lines of the highway. Anything less than 3 seconds lead time (minimum) is putting yourself at serious risk. The tanker truck I'm driving can legally (and often does) weigh 80,000 pounds. With a liquid load on board, there is the added surge factor to also be concerned with. I don't tailgate & I certainly don't want anyone putting their vehicle so close in front of me that it could be considered tailgating, because what it comes down to is you're not giving me any safe options if you make an emergency stop/move. Leave more space & if someone behind you is attempting to pressure you, apply your signal to acknowledge your intention to move over, & do so when safe. Thank you.

Yeah, this driver got away with this one, but when one takes more chances, they risk a misjudgement & being the absolute cause of a crash. All this just because of impatience & selfishness.
