A critique of developer SeithCG's first game "Ghost of a Tale". I guess that having such high hopes in the first place is to the game's credit to begin with.
Critiquing something automatically demystifies it to some degree, no matter how much one avoids spoilers. Given that mystery of Darkwood and getting to grips with the its world is the main draw, I will try to reveal as little as possible but it will most likely take something away from the first play-through
I guess this is lands the video between a review and a critique.
Twitter: twitter.com/LudoLenseFocal Point: Divinity Original Sin 2Ludo Lense2018-02-05 | This video is more on the negative side since being excited is hard when a game is worse than its predecessor but not bad enough for me to consider it terrible.

Twitter: twitter.com/LudoLenseFocal Point: For HonorLudo Lense2017-02-28 | A critique regarding the recently released fighting game For Honor from Ubisoft
I didn't have a chance to address this but Ubisoft released a pretty good first patch today which shows they intended to support this product, hopefully in the same way Rainbow Six Siege is supported.
Twitter: twitter.com/LudoLenseThought-Lapse: The Secret World Investigation QuestsLudo Lense2017-01-15 | So I rearranged my formats a bit and this is the first entry in the new Thought-Lapse: videos about ideas rather than full games.
I also took some sound advice and tried to sound more informal and leave some breathing in.
I am trying to be more concise and have under 25.000 characters scripts, so here is some stuff that didn't make the cut:
- Edicts and how they ruin the setting. -Scarlet Chorus only works because the writers said so. It would dissolve over night in reality. -Companions in general. -Many other examples of terrible writing such as the way Verse and Barik found about about their link. -The world is weirdly bisexual. -How did my workers get past the bane and why are there people from every faction in my spires. -Obviously cut content like Exarch being only mentioned in Achievements. - You ask people about places even though you should everything know after 3 years of conquest. -The Disfavored and Scarlet Crusade dynamic is boring and takes 90% of the game. -Rebel path is saccharine and its existence weakens the themes.

Twitter: twitter.com/ludolenseFocal Point: Invisible Inc.Ludo Lense2015-12-04 | I think this is the first time I do a Focal Point about a game I genuinely appreciate.
NOTE: I forgot to say this but Invisible Inc. has a cute meta hacker achievement for which you need to modify the game's files to obtain. I always like how indie devs get away with this stuff.
I always felt that procedurally generated content can have more lows than normally structured content but can reach some amazing highs if done correctly. After all, mystery is one of the core things which makes games interesting.
Twitter: twitter.com/LudoLenseFocal Point: Shadowrun:Hong KongLudo Lense2015-08-31 | A critical look at Harebrained Schemes newest release, Shadowrun: Hong Kong.
It is quite amazing that Shadowrun media products are generally well written given how kitsch the premise is. I wonder if Jordan Weisman knew the franchise's potential at its inception.
Twitter: twitter.com/LudoLenseFocal Point: Pillars of EternityLudo Lense2015-08-17 | Obsidian tries to pick up where the Infinity Engine games left off. Sadly, trying isn't succeeding.
It is quite an experience to read/see so many interviews with Josh Sawyer, Tim Cain, Chris Avellone and Feargus Urquhart where they explain their preferences/design visions and then see how none of that is in Pillars of Eternity. Perhaps having a mountain of talent slammed together does not a good video game make in the same way super-bands are rarely as good as the individual bands they are composed off.
Perhaps The White March Part 1 will redeem some of the problems presented here, who knows.

Twitter: twitter.com/LudoLenseFocal Point: Wasteland 2Ludo Lense2014-12-08 | DISCLAIMER: The footage and the script were shot and made about 2 months ago. Due to personal reasons and the fact that I wanted to finish the Skyrim legendary edition critique in November I kept delaying Wasteland 2.
In these 2 months, two patches got released that make the game more stable though I do think this video stands on its own even so.
So glad to, at last, be able to watch the 10+ reviews that I avoided.
