Hi again~!
I've been taking interest in fandubbing animes and cartoons, and also translating lyrics into my mother tongue, Bahasa Indonesia. For starters, I was looking to fandub an official translation of any cartoon songs (Disney, Pixar and such), but I found none for Anastasia. And I was like, dude~ you're kidding, right?? Anastasia was like seven years ago, and we don't have an official Indonesian translation?? I absolutely ADORE Anastasia's soundtracks, they are gorgeous!! So yeah...I decided to make one. XD

I tried to keep it close to the English version in terms of meaning, and for my second Indonesian trans-lyric, I think I did okay XD (The first one was Frozen's 'For the First Time in Forever', but I still have to figure out a way to upload it without getting a strike). Certainly not my best work so far, lyrically and vocally...I still have many things to learn and improve. But I enjoyed recording this, veeery much! It's fun!! :D :D :D

Hello again! It's been quite some time since I posted anything on this channel, but I'm (or we're) back with another Indonesian fandub, this time collabing with Fika Hime and Tatang Nurya! We were planning this collab since about May last year, but again, it was on hold since real life was keeping us busy, well...mostly me tbh, as you can notice, my performance here are very underwhelming. Aside from I'm not a soprano or a power vocalist like Idina Menzel, this is also because I didn't have the right environment to go 'crazy' with my energy in singin. I would like to do my best by making a good time and the right situation, but I don't want to delay the collab any longer since keeping my collaborators waiting isn't a nice thing, they have worked hard for this. :((

I've been meaning to do another Indonesian version of a musical song aside from animation. I picked Mary Poppins because I love the OSTs, and I adoooore Julie Andrews!

I always wanted to sing like Julie Andrews; smooth, effortlessly melodic and simple. I tried my best to mimic the way she sang too in this cover, but aside from my voice color that isn't the same as Mrs. Andrews, I'm not a soprano like her. Hence, I didn't do the vocalizing part in the middle of the video, but I admit to abuse my own falsetto, lmaoooo...but don't worry, I did some warm up before recording, so I hope I'll be fine. And also, I didn't dubbed the boy because I couldn't vocal-removed the music from the boy's voice, so I just let it be. The boy didn't talk much anyway, ahahaaa XD

The transliteration process were fun, although I must admit, it was pretty hard to find the exact same meaning. I tried my best to translate it as close as possible though, hope it doesn't reduce the meaning of the original song.

Hello there everyone!
It's been too long since I uploaded something to this channel. I really, really miss singing, and I came across this song while browsing YouTube, Malukah's version first to be exact.

Since I still couldn't play guitar, I tried to search for her guitar version, but no luck... :( Then I came across Nym's beautiful instrumental, so I took my chance and tried to cover it!

Overall it's a challenging song for me to sing because the harmonies are tricky and have quite layers. I think...it turned out fine in the end? Ahhaaa...I use Malukah's version for guide, I hope it doesn't come out too noisy.

What a seductive song.
I actually wanted to translate the song a liiiitle bit "hotter", but to achieve that, I have to use lots of Indonesian slangs, which I personally don't like to hear it in songs. Nothing wrong with slangs though, it's just my personal preference. So yeah, this maybe sounded too watered down for some, but a good thing for me because I didn't blush as much when I recorded it, hahaha XD

And yep...this is probably the only MAMAMOO song that I can sing, looool XD MAMAMOO's songs are tough because three of them are vocal powerhouses, and one of them has a crazy beautiful lower range, I can't compete with them myself, hahahahaaa...but regardless of that, I had fun doing this song, I hope it's enjoyable for you too.

Hello, hello~ I'm back again with another cover, this time, it's from Japanese girl group Perfume! It's really been a long time since I sing in Japanese, my pronounciation was rusty as heck, so forgive me for that *cough*cough* I've covered a few of Perfume songs before, they are one of my all-time favorite girl group! Who's excited for their new single "TOKYO GIRL"? I seriously can't wait!! I also find my love in EDM/Trance genre thanks to them, hehehee... if you're interested to hear my other Perfume covers, feel free to browse my videos :D

The process of covering this song was pretty hard. Actually, this cover was planned since last year, around May-June 2016, but I find it difficult to record and mix EDM songs in one-go, since mixing EDM song is still really hard for me since I'm not familiar with Autotune. Notice how I was off in one note and I still could't change it into the right tune no matter how many take I took, and I honestly don't know how to use Autotune except for the 'Cher' effect, so I just let it be, as long as it doesn't sound off tune "off tune", ahahaa... I also reaaaally took my time and recorded the parts whenever I could, and here we are with the finished product! XD

Also, this song has many layered and strange harmonies. When I listen to the harmonies carefully, they sound really odd, but somehow they fits to the main melodies! I have to tip my hat off to Yasutaka Nakata as their producer for this *tip my hat, Broadway-style* XD Still though, some of the harmonies were undetectable for me, so I just make up some of them, I hope I did the main melody justice XD

Overall I really enjoy recording and mixing EDM songs like this, and I hope you enjoy hearing my cover too. Feedbacks are of course, highly welcomed, so please don't hesitate to drop it here so I can improve more! :D

HOOOKAY...this song is by far, the most complicated to mix for a solo, in my personal opinion. Well, the fact that I'm still adjusting to the new mixing software, Adobe Audition (yes, finally I moved on, lol). Audition was pretty hard to use at first, not to mention, a RAM monster, uuuugh...I had several crashes when mixing this song, but thankfully I noticed that Audition stashed our countless recorded .wav(s) somewhere, so it's retrievable, but the effects are not, not all of them as far as I know, but it helps me, A LOT. Despite all of it, I think I got better at operating the software, hehehe...I still need to learn how to apply the effects better though.

About this song, I've been meaning to cover this since its release, but I never manage to record it in between my school and work fiasco XD And yes, I actually am quite fond of EDM type of music long before I got into fandubs and musicals, but they are pretty hard to mix, for me. Not to mention J-Electronica songs have lots of harmonies, so yeah...gotta figure them out first, then recording, then timing, then applying the effects and or tweak the vocal track if necessary. Yep, pretty long process.

And uh...I don't know if I should write this, but my friend, who is studying to be a ear-nose-throat doctor said that it's not healthy for me to use Maaya, since I tend to put heavy pressure on my vocal fold. She urges me to just sing normally, if I don't want to damage all my vocal organ. So yeah...that means no more Maaya range and tone for me...but she said I can get the range back if I learn the right singing technique, with my Shiraru tone.

I will take her advice, hopefully I won't get too tempted to use Maaya again. I also hope I can afford some singing lesson to learn better technique, but I guess now it's not the right time for me, hahaa...but nevertheless, wish me luck, guys! ^0^

Yes~ musicals are my current obsession! And yes, the video isn't exactly synced at the earlier part, the instrumental I used and the one that is actually used in the performance video are different, so I tried my best to edit that to make it seem like a 'live performance'. Yes, I used sound effects for the audience ambience, the laughing children and the clapping ambiance. Hey, everything to avoid the video being blocked, I will do that, hahahaa...

Oh and, I know I got the lyrics wrong at the beginning, it should be "...I like most." not "I like the most.", but I'm too lazy to re-record it, so I just leave it be, ahaha...

As you noticed in most of my covers, I'm not a soprano, so I might sound a little bit forced and not so energetic on some part. I do the falsetto (or head voice? I still haven't been able to tell them apart), every time I went to the high part to hit the notes, but it came out pretty soft, not as energetic as I wanted it to be. Oh well, the more you do, the more you learn I guess. :D

By the way, have you watched Zootopia? If you haven't, you should! The movie is sooo good! The soundtrack is good too, that's why I decided to cover it in my language. As for why I decided to upload here, it's because this is my singing channel, the I made separate channel for fandubbing, if you're interested too, do drop by by clicking the link above. :D

The process of translating was pretty challenging for me. I tried to keep it as close as the original, but there are some things that were just not translated well, so I took some liberties and cut down some part to fit the syllables. It's a good thing this song is kinda repetitive in its lines, so the cut down part was kinda 'forgiven', I guess?? Hahaha...

Also, you may notice I change one line's translation. The original one is : "I'll keep on making those new mistakes", it should be translated as : "Ku akan membuat kesalahan baru", which means "I will make new mistakes". I just feel it will feel more powerful and make sense if it's like,"Oh I may make a few mistakes. I may make them everyday, and that's okay.". Well it's how I interpreted it though :D

I've been meaning to make an audio book since I get addicted to them recently, hehehe...voice acting is really fun! After doing this, I found that narrating something is much harder because you're not only emoting a dialogue, but the non-dialogue as well. To add, English is not my first language, so I still struggle to pronounce many words.

I do think I need more practice regarding narrating things (and brushing up my English pronunciation) so any kind of feedback aside flames are welcomed guys!

Aaaanyway~ I went to watch Cinderella last Tuesday and originally, I was really excited for the Frozen Fever short animation, but turns out, Cinderella was more satisfying than the Frozen one. It was really a magical movie...although I did hope some of the musical numbers was sung in the movie, but it's alright, the movie is still awesome XD

I realized I had this bad habit of swaying the last notes of every verses, so you can see my singing don't match Raisa's articulation in the video, aheheee...I still have to learn many things, it seems :D

Hello everyone!! At last, I can upload this one!! *phew* The video file was really big for my internet speed connection ;;;3;;; oh, and sorry about the audio, I'm afraid that it would be taken down like my 'spending all my time' video cover, so I tweaked the audio a little to match the video, heheeee~ thank God I found a full live video of them, better yet, the compilation of their performances from their debut until now, yaaaaaay!!! And oh, have you seen their teaser for the new single "Cling Cling"? It was awesome!! I can't wait to hear the full single tracks!!

The process of making this cover was pretty hard...especially on the mixing, and the harmonies too. The longest process was definitely the mixing, because I was quite confused on the 'poririzumu' repeat. Aaaaanddd the harmonies on there was pretty hard to mix too, not to mention, there are several elements missing on the end part of the original instrumental, so I have to make it up with my crappy voice, uuuugh...it turn out okay, I guess? Eheee...please do judge me and tell me what should I fix, I will pay more attention to that on the next cover. :D

I lost a quite close relative last week. She's younger than me and was sick since three years ago, but full of passion to live. About this cover, I always want to cover this song ever since I marathon-ed Guilty Crown episodes. Yes, the OPs-EDs are brilliant (supercell FTW!) but this song just...gets me. I mean, it fits so much with the last scene where Shu and Inori...aaargh I can't say it for those who haven't watched yet, it would be a big spoiler ;;; 3 ;;;

And I also draw the fanart in this cover~ It's been so long since I draw anything, and I had so much fun drawing her hair, although it might not look anything like Inori at all since I modeled her from the cover of supercell's OSTs. Okay, so I've been debating whether I should enter or not, but after some thoughts, I decided to enter, since I really like keeno's song 'glow', and this is a really good chance to 'force' me to cover something in between my own busy-ness XD. But for this contest, I chose 'crack', because I became fonder of it every time I listen to it :D and I really like the lyrics! When I listen to it and read the lyrics, I can imagine the 'scene' and drown in my own imagination, hehehehe XD Yes, yes, I'm weird like that XD Oh and yes, I use my josei range because my mood has been mellow these days...and that got me thinking, what should I name her (my josei persona)? Shima-san maybe? Hehehehee XD //staaaahp

The process of making this cover was one of the hardest for me. The harmonies were indistinguishable because of Miku Dark's 'misty' vocal, and I had to listen very carefully. But on some parts, I just went with whatever fits...and I really hope it fits, or at least not pitchy. I admit, I'm not that good at making my own harmonies, but I'm working on it, hehehee~ :D

Hello guys!! It's been awhile since I post a new cover on YouTube. Actually I have posted this on my SoundCloud account not long after I posted WAVE (remember when I said I have just played Ib? XD), but it has a very gorgeous video (dat ART!! :3) and the meaning is also very touching, so I prepare my heart and decided to post it here.

The process of covering this was kind of difficult. It's really hard to reach the lowest note (Gary's part), I sounded strained...and when the dramatic part came, my voice sort of changed...as if there are two male characters...*sigh* I still have to practice so it would sound natural. :D

Like I said on my channel earlier, I'm on a tentative hiatus. I said tentative because I think I'd still post videos because of VOCAPOST forum's monthly utaite challenge (Uta-Cha). Well, it could be my excuse to take a break for a while and sing~ Sing~ SING~~! *floating on the air* But seriously, singing is like...one of my stress reliever...besides eating, ahwawawaaaa~ XD

And yes, you guess it, this is my entry for VOCAPOST Uta-Cha October!

Okay, first, let me explain the tag I put in the brackets above. I noticed that every utaite or Japanese coverists often put their aliases on brackets before the song name, so I just follow them. And since I already have two names on the internet (shiraru and Maaya), I thought, why don't use one of my aliases as my 'other' persona? Add the fact, I'm still working on controlling my lower register, which sometimes sound like a per-pubescent boy. I've decided, the one who'd be my 'boy-like' persona name would be shiraru, and my female, squeaky voice would be Maaya.

In this cover, I sing both ranges, and I really, reaaaaally hope I don't make your ears bleed...I mean it. I think I did go overboard with the long notes, especially on GUMI's part. Ah, by the way, I found another Japanese group that I like~ it's FLOWER! And do you know? They are EXILE's sister band!! Aaaaah, no wonder they have the same feel when I first watched them~ if you haven't heard either of the group I mentioned before, do look them up! Ah, but please don't be surprised if you only see two or three of them singing. They are a group with 6 dancers (performer) and 2-3 main vocalists if I'm not mistaken. Who are your favorites? My favorites are Harumi Sato (performer, the tallest girl), Washio Reina (vocalist, the shorter one), and Nakajima Mio (performer, the girl with bangs aside from Harumi Sato). They are really pretty, hehehe~ :D

*still ogling at their prettiness* A-ah! But I can't believe they are all younger than me!! The oldest one is like, one year above me, and the rest are either my age, or below!! Still, they are very pretty, hehehe~ ^^

Okay, okay, okay! About this cover! This song, by far, is one of the most vocally challenging for me. You can hear my voice shaking at the end, and it ended up too sharp...I don't know how Washio Reina and Muto Chiharu (the main vocalists of FLOWER) managed to sing very calm but also strong while dancing a little bit. Just...WOW. And in every live, they managed to harmonized with each other too! Double WOW!!

Hehe, back to the cover, I'm really sorry about the volume, it's not really balanced. When I sing a little loud, the microphone took all of the noise as well, so I have to sing far faaaar away from the microphone, hence, the unbalanced volume. I tried to keep it minimum, but some parts just need to be lower than the other, or else, my voice would sound 'broken', like, the mic can't handle it.

Ah~ still have a long way to go if I want to sound like a pro, hehehehe~

Hello~ yes, it's another Vocaloid song! I think I got preeetty obsessed with Vocaloid, sing some of their songs are really good~ if you haven't heard some of them, just search for Vocaloid on YouTube, there should be some well-known songs coming up. :D

On to the cover. I don't know why, but I don't feel satisfied...I think I downloaded the wrong-key instrumental...it's one key lower than the original song...and it seems some things are missing...but I'm not sure what...and I think I sound weird too...I just add a light reverb (10% proportion on Audacity), I don't add any effects anymore...

Well, I think that's all...yes...I don't write description as much as I was before, but that's just because I don't feel satisfied enough...I can't comment much... *sigh*

From now on, whenever I cover Japanese songs, I will call it as "fandub", not "song cover" anymore, since "cover" can be mistaken as Vocaloid cover, meaning, people will mistaken that I am a vocaloid that covers a certain song, haha~ :D

Hokaaay~, maybe this is the last cover of the month. It's already fasting month in my country, and along with that, usually I felt very drained and not energetic enough to sing. If I got extra energy, maybe I will sing a full song, hehehe~ :D Now I am only active in collabs. :)

I really like some of Vocaloid songs, but they are usually so hard to sing, so I opted for a softer version of the songs I like, like this one! I take the piano version and sing along to it. :) In this cover, I admit, I got carried away...you can hear me 'whimpering' and 'cracking notes' on some part, because the meaning of this song is actually very sad, contrast to the original cheery tune. I don't have a story of my life that made me relate to this song, but I just...feel it. Have you ever feel that way? I know I have, multiple times. I guess words are indeed powerful, add some balanced melodies, it will become magic at its best~ :D

I think I will be doing more of Japanese songs next time. J-Pop also has their own charm like K-Pop. :D :D :D

Hookay~ this is my first time covering a song from T-ara. *claps to myself* --- *gets bricked*

I was so enthralled by the song, I was very eager to sing it, but there's no instrumental... and I felt like experimenting a bit, so...here it is! The acapella version!

I also was thinking to make an English cover of this song, but I just...don't have talent in re-writing rap lyrics, haha...well, the meaning of this song is already beautiful as it is, so I decided to cover the Korean. :)

It was harder than I thought, making acapella based instrumental. I imitate the strings sounds and take out the beats, since I can't make the snare and snap sounds, no matter how many I've tried to. I'm not a professional or learning music academically, so yeah...maybe for some of you, this cover is not really pleasing to the ear, aihehe~ forgive me for that...

Aha! My first attempt at writing English version of a foreign song!
I don't know what has gotten into me to write the lyrics of this song myself (while I don't know if this is a remake or not) AND singing it at the same day, AND post it online on the same day when I got a few of unfinished covers on my computer...*feel guilty*

Okay, the lyrics are not exactly, entirely me, because I got the translation song from pop!gasa, and I made some changes to fit the beat. Well, I always want to write the english version of a K-Pop / J-Pop song, because it seems fun, and lo-behold, it was! It was tons of fun and also several itty-bitty frustration, but in the end, this is the final product! :D

While I think some of the parts are still awkward, but yeah...can you please treat this like an excersise, pretty please? With a cherry on "TOP"? XD

I might do the Korean version next, just for the comparator, hehee~

The mixing in this song was pretty challenging for me. Especially the stutter effects, some of them were manually cut, some of them are made using an effect called 'stutter'. I'm planning to do some more mixing-challenging songs, I can learn something new from it, hehehe~ just wish me luck!

Hello there everyone! I haven't been around much because this semester gets pretty hectic for me, but I found a little time to cover this great song by Japanese electric pop group Perfume~ :D
I admire Perfume alot since when I was like, 15-16 years old, but I don't have confidence to cover their song, because it sounds so 'magical' heeheee...I'm afraid I'd butchered them. :P

Just one day apart, but I want to post this as soon as possible since I have received the video from fowlergirl early this morning (in my time range).
This is the first APC collab that I took over, the original initiator is Guest. In the original lyrics split, some parts are supposed to be sung by both of us, but since I think it kinda ruined the mood of the song (and xYakyuBaka's voice is just amazing as it is :D), I decided to fill in the missing parts and work hard on the harmonies, hence, the lack of me singing.

I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome, but I do wish I could do more for this collab since the song itself is really touching and heart-breaking. I feel my voice kinda lacks emotion in some part...

I'm entering Soompi Idol 9 contest, an online K-Music singing/rapping/dancing competition on Soompi forum. I'm entering as singer/rapper. In the regulation, it said the video must be more than 1:00 but less than 1:30, that's why it's very short. ^^ Oh, and I also have decided that I will use my lower register for this competition. I want to train it so I will be good at low voices, so yeah...that's why I lowered the pitch. And umm...say goodbye temporarily to normal cute tone that I always made, hehehee~ :D

Okay, about this cover...how should I put this? I wish I could do more for this cover. I really do. Between the 'sneaking' time, I worked on this track for a total five days, if I'm not mistaken. It's not my best, I admit. I did it in a rush...and I think I messed up in some part either it's on vocal or harmonization...

When I read about the contest, I actually want to record a video alongside the cover, but! Beside the fact I don't have a good webcam, school assignments have been keeping me busy these months.
