FE5 English Menu Patch Walkthrough Chapter 4 (no commentary) HisuroKun 2017-06-01 | The Dungeon: Quite possibly one of the biggest difficulty spikes in Fire Emblem.This chapter we get 6 new units, 3 of which you can actually use.First, let's look at Lara, the most important unit here. She's a thief, with next to no utility beyond picking doors and chests. Her "steal" skill means next to nothing, as her build barely increases over the course of the game.The next two units we have are Machua and Brighton, who despite having different skills, do one single use here: fight the soldiers.These next two cutscenes are Lifis bluffing that his "backup"will come break him out any second now, and Leif talking to his other two inmates. Fergus, the unit left of Leif, apparently beat up some soldiers harassing Karin, the one to the right of Leif. Karin's on a mission from the northern country of Silessia to find its prince, Ced.The first thing we have to do is kill the soldiers and clear a path for Lara to take the chests in the lower right-hand room and bust Lifis out. This is important, because two thieves are better than one, and that in one of those chests is Lifis' lockpick, which will make opening doors/chests a lot less restrictive.From there we bust out Leif, Fergus, and Karin, all of whom use swords, and have them all loot the chests in the bottom right hand room, using trading to efficiently open all the chests in as few turns as possible.Meanwhile, the thieves will have a go at the armor knights blocking the exit at the top.We'll then loot the chests in the upper-right hand room, and once again trade the Chest Key Machua originally had to loot as many chests in as few turns as possible.I took the Flame Sword since Leif's sword level rose to be able to use it. I can use it to conserve Light Brand uses and deal with the Armor Knights effectively.The next objective is to free all the prisoners from their cells and MAKE SURE THEY ESCAPE. The prisoners in the upper-left hand side will escape to the exit on the far left, while the prisoners on the upper-right hand side will escape to the exit on the far right. Each prisoner has no build and can move four spaces, so you can have some of your units just take them to the exits sooner, or just stand guard while they run to the exits themselves. Your choice.An important thing to note here is that more soldiers will begin to spawn from their exits the MOMENT you spring these prisoners. The soldier's AI will move to capture them and immediately exit the map. If that happens, you won't be able to make it to chapter 4x, and you get a lot of good stuff there, so we need to make their escape happen.The easiest way to do that is to position your units over the spaces where the soldiers spawn to the far left and right- the prisoners can still escape that way.After ensuring the prisoners have escaped, I group all of my units to the door at the top, because of......that. One of the biggest dick moves in Fire Emblem, a group of armor knights and mages wait to spring you.Since we saved Yuvel, the girl from the last chapter who was in the bottom-right house, Dalshin, the chapter boss, can be talked to by Leif to recruit him. We do that and have him go trade a Vulnerary to heal his HP.We knock out some Armor Knights with Leif's Fire Sword before taking Lifis and stealing the mage's Thunder... tome. Lifis can steal weapons from any units with a smaller build than him, so he's a good unit to use with a team that has a mage... which is what we're going to get next chapter.
Chapter 3 no commentary HisuroKun 2017-06-01 | Chapter 3 is insanely long for two reasons-1. You deliver the civilians to their respective houses- and it has to be the right house, or else the house won't take the child.2. You have only two units in this chapter that you use next chapter- Leif and Lifis, the thief. Their inventories are recovered next chapter, so you have to choose what items to bring. I chose stat-boosting scrolls, Evayle's Fire Sword, and Halvan's brave axe, because you get an axe user next chapter.I decided to use the Angelic Robe and Dracoshield on Lifis, to beef him up for the next chapter, and gave him the Hezul scroll (which boosts HP growth) to make him tankier for chapter 4, and the Speed Ring to Leif to raise his chance of activating his Adept skill and make him more tactically viable in the earlygame.
