Metro Exodus, Or How To Do Open-World Right | Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition Review | thesummerofmark

thesummerofmark 2024-06-30 | Exodus is the third mainline entry in the Metro series, and follows Artyom and his crew of Spartan rangers as they flee the Moscow Metro and journey through post-apocalyptic Russia and Kazakhstan on a locomotive called Aurora. The objective: connect with the alleged remnants of the former Russian government in the Ural mountains and find a cozy, ideally radiation and mutant free spot on the surface where they can start rebuilding civilization from scratch. Of course, that’s easier said than done, as shit hits the fan not 5 minutes after fleeing Moscow. First, the locomotive breaks near the Volga river, where the rangers encounter and fight a Lovecraftian-coded technophobic cult; near the dried-out Caspian sea, a vicious warlord has assumed control of the area’s remaining water and oil reserves; as for the remnants of the Russian government, well, I’ll save that for later.

Exodus might seem like a huge departure from the series’ core tenets, but it’s not that big a departure as some would think.

So let’s dive in and see what Exodus is about.

Windows 10 fix:

1. Download the latest version of dgVoodoo 2 - http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2/
2. Extract zip
3. Copy MS and 3Dfx contents to game folder (either the x86 or x64 subfolders from each, depending on the case)
4. Open dgVoodooSetup and configure game. Make sure to check the box removing the watermark.
5. Start game. If each box from the menu mentions vodoo, you did good.

Framerate fix:

1. Press Windows + R to open Windows Run Dialog
2. Type regedit and press enter to open system registry
3. Go to Shiny Entertainment - Options - and look for "Target Framerate"
4. Right click - Modify - type the framerate at which you wish the game to run at.
