It still hurts, and I'm sure it will for a while. But a lot of good things have been happening in my life, and I'm excited to share them with you guys!1. I got the volunteer position at Mystic Aquarium! I'm going to be starting soon and will be working every other Saturday.2. I'm in the process of applying to my dream school, Eckerd College, and everything is going smoothly. I'm so excited to come home. 3. I'm going to FFA National Convention in Indiana for a week at the end of October!4. I got a job at a doggy daycare near me in May, and it's been going well. 5. I'm driving as well and my Mystic Machine is living up to his name, haha!I'm a senior this year, and the Student Advisor. I have mixed emotions because I love it, and I love my friends and the FFA, but I also want to move on. I want to be able to study marine biology and to return to Florida. I'm loving my classes so far and things are going good. Stress is a killer, so I'm working on taking care of myself and balancing everything in my life. The day that changed my life. This single moment, this little piece of home away from home, pushed me back on the path that I needed to be on. And oh, was I hooked. I cannot count how many times I was told that I should volunteer at Mystic or asked if I worked there. Unfortunately, the answer was- no, I'm not old enough. 4 years have gone by. It has felt like a century of being told 'wait'. Over and over again, everything has been 'wait'. I have waited for this moment. And I am so, so excited that my dreams as a little 12 year old of sharing my passion with others at this amazing place is going to become a reality.Today, I leave for the Mystic Aquarium Volunteer Open House. Everything is going so fast yet so slow at the same time and I'm not sure if I want it to speed up or slow down. I just started driving, and soon, I'll get my liscense and start volunteering at Mystic Aquarium. Junior year is already speeding by. Not long from now, I'll be applying to colleges and holding my breath, hoping to come home.My focus has been reset, to where it should be. I love horses, but my heart belongs to the sea. I was confused and scared, thinking that I could only have one and have to let the other go. It was nice to have a dream that felt like it would impress others, saying "I want to go to UConn for Equine Studies and Agrimarketing & Business". But overall, it always felt so, so wrong. I'm glad to be back on the right track where I belong.Life is coming so quick and I want it to be 2 years from now, but I'm coming to the realization that I don't have to live in the future anymore. Now is okay. Now is safe. I don't have to depend on the future to stay sane.Things will come in time. And life will get so, so good. It has already begun. Summer 2016! TruaBelieve Studios 2016-08-26 | This summer was full of such amazing moments and memories. From riding my moose to a stubborn, sassy mare named Maggie in Mass, going back to Mystic to visit Juno and the sealions, and our crazy 12 hour drive (18 hours on the way back) to South Carolina and fun times on Myrtle Beach surrounded by Southern politeness, and even beaches in lovely old New England. It's been full of animals, friends, craziness, and excitement. And although I'm sad my free time and summer days are over and school is back, I'm so excited to be a Junior in highschool and my FFA Chapter's Treasurer.
