**UPDATE** THIS DOES WORK AT RED ROCKET. READ RabidGears PINNED COMMENT BELOW.
I got too excited last time and shot the vid without doing enough testing. As you can see this door frame is even more fickle than I knew. If anyone knows any other pieces that have bizarre snapping properties based on location (even within the same settlement) I'd love to hear about them. Sorry about the sloppy upload last vid. Hopefully this update is helpful.
Kevin Alibert did some testing on this and showed that it can snap at two vastly different elevations at Finch Farm and that it also works with other "thick walls" and not just the ones with doorways in them. Here's a link to his vid. youtube.com/watch?v=QqsUjsxoBmY&t=16s
An old vid by Cordless VII shows another good way to snap these doorways through the floor. You can see it around the 6:00 mark in his video here. youtube.com/watch?v=_Y3_FgGLcPk
I also posted a follow up vid with more information about this trick at other settlements. Here is that link. youtube.com/watch?v=3GxqbnDDqqw

Lord Runoflr Ulfsson's "Mario" playthrough using Big Jim youtube.com/watch?v=2wKuXt-K1wE
I've underestimated Big Jim for years. It's kneecapper legendary effect is quite powerful against these giants. Once Swan is crippled he becomes a sitting duck, or should I say sitting swan.
Agility is the only stat that really matters just so we can stack a bunch of VATS hits to try and proc that kneecapper effect before Swan even gets a chance to attack.
That truly was my first attempt and he went down that easily. Almost as easy as I went down to the roaches.
I'll likely upload my second fight, that was a bit tougher, in a day or two. It will be unlisted but I'll add the link here.

Have a great day!
Edit: Paul from Skooled Zone pointed out that there is a bit of a continuity error at 3:25 that may cause some confusion. I filmed this twice and used footage from both. The camera fades to black before I delete the wall (you should be able to hear it delete though) and when the camera comes back the stairs, and floor, are in a different location in relation to the ground because I used footage from the second recording. The upper stairs and floor are still in the exact same relation to each other (which is what matters) even though it may not look like it. The lower stairs will snap in exactly the same way despite the continuity error.
I filmed an unedited version you can watch here youtube.com/watch?v=KhFwfybdwe0

A long time ago I tried building water purifiers under Jamaica Plain but I was not able to. Yesterday I was watching a Croup Manor tour by Jimmy youtube.com/watch?v=QBJS5zjRIaA and for some reason my brain told me to go try it again at Croup. I thought maybe the ground was the problem at Jamaica and the additional space between the water and ground at Croup might be the answer. Turns out the ground above the purifier is not an issue but the lack of ground beneath it's legs is. Garden plot FTW!
I don't have a lot of experience with this trick yet since I just figured it out yesterday. I'm not really sure what can be built with the rug glitched purifiers but I'm sure some creative builder like EZE youtube.com/watch?v=qnf7zf9IsMA will figure out some use for them.
If you find any additional settlements where this works or if you have any questions I'd love to hear them in the comments.

As mentioned this is a build for G4's challenge. I'm 95% happy with the end result but some sacrifices were made. Also some rules may have been broken but let's get to that in a minute.
First off here are people who helped with this build either through inspiration, tutorials, or finding unusual items. (I tried to flashlight the rare items in the vid)
SarDeliac is the biggest influence on this build. As he built his bar for G4's challenge I mentioned it would look good with neon and buoys. He said something like "Maybe you should try that" and that started my build. As you can see in his vid I stole the basic design, function, and even location from him.
youtube.com/watch?v=7rAId1uZfIA
He is also responsible for the ever elusive "Sealed Boston Bugle" on the bedroom desk.
The winterbeard is also responsible for the design. Always pushing for SarDeliac to build taller and 3 stories is tall for Sar.
youtube.com/channel/UCtnxhu4XseAkB9bR5s9BnuA
Sventu81 taught me where to find the small tools including the wrench and screwdriver in this vid. (The house next to Grey Garden if you're wondering)
youtube.com/watch?v=ieeB5zROdKo
EZE and his obsession for tires found the 1/2 size large tire that fits perfectly for my turret stand. He's been spending time in West Virginia playing 76 lately but his Fo4 build stuff is amazing. You have to check out his junkernaut. I feel it's the coolest vanilla thing I've seen built in Fo4.
youtube.com/watch?v=oHJ9Ux0Ju5k
Limmy for his incredible game changing free form wire technique. I didn't use it much in this build but both construction lights used his technique to simulate wiring them to a battery.
youtube.com/watch?v=sdcfSNHt_kA
tim-timman for his Quantum Conduits technique. It makes wires disappear but the items remain powered. I also used this on the work lights.
youtube.com/watch?v=XWhfL186FPA&list=LLzscIrP5knxQGyXTaZttjRg&index=14&t=0s
tim's video seems to have been switched to private so here is a crappy demonstration I made. You'll need to read it's video description to understand what is happening.
youtube.com/watch?v=sXs6ZNijntg
And last for today's list CRYOknox she showed a video about placing build items outside settlement. I've know this trick for years. In fact it was the first "glitch" I ever discovered with Fo4 building. She did issue a challenge to see who can set a "record" though so the bus is my record attempt.
youtube.com/watch?v=rboFLjuqQ30
G4's rules I may have broken:
1 I was late turning the vid in
2 The bouncers hut is 1/2 floor too many. Originally I was going to use a raider canopy but without mods they were just too big. I did bury the floor underground and it is not attached to the main building so I'm counting it as my second entry into his 1/2 floor challenge.
3 The VIP lounge is not "accessible" I did make sure the ceiling is high enough to walk under if you scrap the curtain. I thought about leaving the curtain off ,like I accidentally did with the bathroom when I removed it to junk decorate and forgot to put it back, but it didn't look right wide open.
I think that's all the possible violations.
I was going to use Queen Mirelurk Meat but when I randomly asked SarDeliac in stream a few weeks back his response was Industrial Sized Shortening. Who am I to question him? He is obviously a very experienced expert on that subject.
If you're wondering about the name changes check out this vid and reddit post by tim-timman.

Happy 2020 Everyone!!!!
This video demonstrates a way for players without Wasteland Workshop DLC to "Fire Glitch" without a camp fire. I highly recommend watching my previous tutorials on the campfire and garden plot as there is a lot of information that applies to the no-fire glitch as well. It would have been redundant and taken a lot more work to include it in this video too. Here are the links to those vids.

I do feel that almost everything that can be done with a camp fire can be done no-fire (excluding Bethesda built structures like a lot of the stuff in the Murkwater vid). That being said a lot of it will not be easy. It is much more work to do things no-fire and it also requires a lot more planning and build order. We cannot just slap down a camp fire where we need it. A lot of stuff will have to be assembled from the top down or built off the structure and then be group selected into place on the structure.
Speaking of group select. If you are not familiar with GS AKA "the pillar glitch" Check out this tutorial be TheAdiposeTV. I feel it's the best GS tutorial I've seen
youtube.com/watch?v=aDo_BFYMRHE
I still do not have much experience with the no-fire glitch so I'm sure there is still a lot to learn. Since I have the DLC's there is not a ton of motivation for me to grind away at figuring every nuance. I do think the short stairs may be a better choice than the totem sometimes. Much like the shack bridge the stairs seem more forgiving to the depth of the dirt than the totem does. The downside is their footprint is bigger than the totem, and they also want to snap sometimes which is a pain in the A.
I made a short vid with some of the extra footage I had. Not much here but shows this working in other settlements and also a longer version of merging the roofs. It shows how much more work the no-fire is over the camp fire.

Shout outs to Limmy, tim-timman, Miz Tracey, and SarDeliac. Limmy showed me the concept of sinking extra deep which led to the shack Bridge with the stairs on top, tim showed how to sink things with the garden plot, Miz Tracey showed me you can place a water pump in a camp fire in 76 which led me to discover we can sink pillars (and other stuff) through floors and roofs in 4 with it, and SarDeliac for driving a lot of traffic to my channel.

As I mentioned Limmy taught me how to sink things deep with the barn/warehouse foundation and wall. Eventually I gravitated to the shack bridge for it's smaller profile and eventually I learned you can sink them right through each other with the campfire (or garden plot)
The key is to make sure your group selected items "jump". By setting the pillar on top of a foundation piece the "jump" is basically guaranteed. This can be achieved using items other than the pillar but the pillar is something we always have at hand and are familiar with.
As I said in the vid it's the "foundation" that is sinking into the fire and not the pillar. I think there are sinking spots on the foundations just like there are hop spots when rug glitching. Spinning and moving the foundation can help locate the sink spot and allow you to better figure out where to place the fire.
The pillar being too close to the fire can also make it go red. It's better to put it on the end that is away from the fire.
I should have mentioned it early on in the video but being up on some stairs really helps when sinking things. The boxcars in particular really hate sinking when you are at ground level.
When glitching multiple items together you will have to plan out your build order. It's fairly easy to sink multiple items into one item but sinking even one item into multiple items is difficult or impossible. Spreading the fire across multiple items may help but it's still better to just sink into one item at a time when possible.
I showed the two shack bridges with the railings and quarter wall combo going through a roof. This works with wood roofs and metal roofs but the fire does not seem to work with barn/warehouse roofs, or the cloth roofs in the wood tab.
Near the end I showed that the boxcars with a pillar can sink things the deepest I know of. If you find a way to sink things even more I would love to hear it. You may have noticed a few times when my scaffold got too low it would jump all the way back up. At that point it is often easier to go up with the thumbstick just a little bit and it will jump right back down most of the time. This is easier then trying to lower it all the way back down only to go too far and have it jump again.
If I think of any more info I'll add it to a pinned comment.
If you'd like a more detailed tour of the insides of my scaffold prefab houses let me know.
Also if you build any cool houses with the prefabs let me know.
I read every comment so feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Morph's vending machines are at the 19 minute 40 second mark.
I've been meaning to put out a video showing my version of Morpheus' vending machines ever since I first saw him build them during the "Road to Homeplate" challenge. I finally got motivated enough to do it.
I hope I covered everything clearly enough in the video but if you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments and I'll be happy to try and help.
I didn't mention it specifically in the video but if you missed the wiring layout it's power source then delayed off switch then pitching machine.
You can also substitute a power switch like morph did and not have to program delay switches at all if you want to make it easier.
If you wanted to get really creative you could probably glitch one of the Nuka World games into the Nuka machine so it would have a place to actually insert tokens before pushing the switch to release the bottle.
It is also possible to place multiple pitching machines and delay switches into the Nuka machine for multiple flavors of Nuka in the same machine.
Really can't think of much more to add to this one.
I hope you enjoy.
As I mentioned SarDeliac is one of my favorite Fallout 4 builders. In addition to his wonderful builds he has a way of looking at various aspects of the game in a way that is very unique. He notices things that many of us just gloss right over. From the lore of the game, to the mechanics, to even the tiniest details his analytical insight is always so interesting.
Sar also likes to build "Scrappy" style builds and often looks to in-game Bethesda built structures for inspiration. This Easy City Downs structure is just one of many. When Sar built this he mentioned the upper left side was probably not possible to duplicate without using mods to sink it onto the roof. Recently, in one of SarDeliac's live streams, I introduced him to the power of the Camp Fire. I wasn't sure if he fully grasped the power of the Camp Fire at the time so I decided to do a quick build to demonstrate it and this building seemed like the perfect example.....Well me, being me, it took almost 3 weeks to get this vid out that I had hoped to have out in 3 days and Sar is already starting to master the Camp Fire.
2:25 is where the Camp Fire use begins. If you are not aware of the Camp Fire technique it works much like the Garden Plot and allows us to sink things in a lot of places we normally cannot. This build can also be done with the Garden Plot but the Camp Fire is less awkward for me. Here is my original vid showing the power of the campfire
youtube.com/watch?v=1Zc1x9Zh7s4
A few things worth pointing out.
0:45 The reason I used NastyBonz's trick was to lower the floor one thickness. Without doing this the upper floor would have had a gap. SarDeliac used Group Select to position his upper floor but I wanted to show another method for precise placement.
Nasty's vid youtube.com/watch?v=Iu-8pfwgfv0
4:00 That deep wall piece I'm am using was the wrong one. I used the greenish warehouse style one and Easy City uses the brown rusty one.
6:00 I should have snapped that railing in earlier using the same technique I did at 2:55 but the Camp Fire saves me again.
6:30 I'm using metal stairs. The wooden stairs used in Easy City are not available in Vanilla. SarDeliac used a mod that let's him snap the short wooden stairs together and that's what he did. In Vanilla they do not snap. In past experience Group Selecting those shorter stairs together has often caused settler pathing issues and there is nothing worse than a settler stuck on stairs you are trying to use. Because of that I chose the metal one.
7:00 Easy City uses the double wide railing that norespawns never liked. I should have used it instead of two small railings but I didn't catch my mistake in time.
9:40 We do not have the same raider tents and banners Bethesda uses in Easy City so I did not try to position them exactly the same. And if you are wondering yes several of my tents would be floating well above the ground so I rugged spiked poles into them to make the legs reach the ground.
13:15 The lit cigar on an aluminum tray was another thing I stole from SarDeliac. Much better than an ashtray in the wasteland. In my defense I believe Sar has said he himself stole it from someone but I can't recall who he said.
13:28 You can catch a glimpse of XXIV Games' Fire Barrel Street Lamp. He built it using mods and it can be a bit tricky to build in Vanilla. I've thought about doing a tutorial in the past but never have. Let me know if you're interested. youtube.com/watch?v=2q-RO78EwMY
13:45 You'll have to watch SarDeliac's original build video to understand what is happening here.
9:15-12:45 I've often mentioned that we builders tend to over junk decorate and that Bethesda makes things look good and tell a story with way less junk than we do. I'm this build I tried to copy Bethesda's junk decor as close as possible (within reason) During the tours I noticed how much emptier my build feels. I think there are a couple things at work. The first and I think biggest is Bethesda has random trash and dirt we don't have. They leave a whole shelf empty and put some dirt on it and it looks full. Our shelf just looks empty. I did use some burned magazines to try and replicate but it's not the same. 2nd we cannot control the grass/bushes they randomly spawn on each load. The grass draws your eyes away from the decor. 3rd they just have more pieces to work with. Their broken shelves look so much better than my regular shelves and so does their chemistry cart......I've now changed my stance on junk decor. We do need to use more than Bethesda but perhaps still not as much as we normally do.
Originally I planned to delete this save but I like how it turned out and may return someday to build an entire settlement full of raider catwalks.
** If you have any questions I'm always willing to try my best to answer them**
THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION SAR! I HOPE YOU ENJOY!

Unfortunately Home Plate does not let us build garden plots or the concrete pillar. I've long known the bloody raider/supermutant totems will let us "pillar glitch" in the dirt side. Until recently I couldn't figure out how to do it in the rest of home plate without my beloved garden plot.
Well thanks to Fallout 76, of all things, I figured out a solution. I do not personally own a copy of 76 but I watched this video by Miz Tracey
youtube.com/watch?v=2Dwqps1keTc&list=WL&index=41&t=793s
Around the 12 minute mark she uses a camp fire to place a water purifier on a floor. I don't know if she was the first to discover it or not as it seems pretty well known now in 76 but she was the first I saw.
When I saw Tracey's vid I figured the rocks in the campfire might function the same as the dirt in the garden plot and give us portable sinkholes for "pillar glitching". I was excited to try it out but I wasn't sure if we could build camp fires in home plate since Bethesda took so much of our build menu away from us here. Thankfully we lucked out.
The camp fire works just like a smaller version of the garden plot I love. Ideal for sinking things in a lot of places you normally cannot. There are tons more uses than I show in this vid including some natural Bethesda built obstructions like that small rock to the left of my sign at Sunshine Tidings, the top of the silos, etc. If you are familiar with the garden plot you'll find lots of uses for the camp fire and if not then enjoy playing and experimenting with your new tools.
AFAIK no one has posted this camp fire trick before which is strange because we've been able to construct campfires for a long time. If you know someone who has shown or explained this before let me know so I can post a link.
Likewise if you build anything cool using this trick let me know.
Enjoy!

This is my entry into Chaos in Fallout's build challenge. I wasn't able to create my original idea since the tires and 55 gallon oil drums do not play well in vanilla. I ended up going in an entirely different direction then I planned. Full tour of the settlement coming soon.

And here are the techniques I used to make this
youtube.com/watch?v=rhq9S4eX2vw
Original description follows below.....
Kevin Alibert recently had a video with a very large Straw Pillow and a very small Brahmin Meat. (Shown around 4:12 in his vid)
youtube.com/watch?v=gdd9_zM8AaE
Kevin, and also I, are wondering where they came from.
I've had this smaller bottle of Nuka Quantum for a long time and I'm not sure where it came from either. Can anyone help? This was in my first settlement build ever which was pre DLC and pre Mods so they are not the cause. I've long suspected it came from one of the Teddy Bears or Jangles and that the Devs scaled it to fit better but I'm not sure. This is the only one I have ever found.
As a bonus here is a super short peek at the general store in the first settlement I ever built. This was before I truly understood group select and back when removing a rug did not cause the item to drop.
UPDATE:
It appears most people want me to keep this vid up so I'll leave it.
After reading the comments I spent some time experimenting with the slot machines in about 10 settlements including Vault 88 and here is a summary of my results.
Moz Empire mentioned they only snap on dirt and not on floors. I thought maybe they would snap on other sinkable surfaces so I tried them on a garden plot, the barn/warehouse foundations, and the road at Sanctuary. They would not snap on any of those surfaces. Only on real dirt.
Next I tried most of the floor pieces. THEY WILL SNAP on the see thru mesh floors in the barn, warehouse, and concrete tabs. I was not able to snap them on any other floors (including Vault floors which is a strange oversight by Bethesda). It is possible to remove the mesh floor from under the slots and then snap in your preferred floor so that is one workaround if you need perfectly straight slots on a different type of floor.
There was some mention that different settlements would not allow slots to snap so I tried snapping them at multiple settlements. They seemed to all act exactly the same until I got to Vault 88. I could not get them to snap on the dirt of Vault 88. I tried about 20 different spots. They did still snap on mesh flooring though.
I tried snapping them on a large rug and a flat roof and no luck on either.
Lastly I raised a slot slightly above a wood floor via the pillar and I was able to make them snap so that is another potential workaround.

I was watching norespawns recent RV build video
youtube.com/watch?v=_93z8TydjOk
and he expressed a desire for small poles. I'm not able to fill that void for him but sinking them into the ground should work in most circumstances.
The rug method will be very obvious to most builders but I haven't seen too many builders going under the map so I figured I should show that.
There are two methods to getting under the map that I know of. The technique I use in the vid I learned from High Vis Harry
Here is the link to his tutorial
youtube.com/watch?v=Adzw-c60CwM&t=112s
The other method involves sinking a chair in the ground. Mr Glayden has a tutorial on this method
youtube.com/watch?v=oBYHUdoW4Qs
Not all settlements will let you build as deep under the ground as others. Also in places like Greygarden you will need to use the barn or warehouse posts to glitch some floors under your foundation or else you will fall all the way through the earth and end up back on the ground. In some settlements there is water under the ground and it stops you from falling.
This under the map method also works with the tall flagpoles, the large barn doors and other items. It also helps to have something sticking through from the surface marking where you want to place your pole since it is hard to tell where you are underground sometimes.
I hope this vid helps some of you out and inspires new creative build ideas.
Thanks for watching!

In that vid Sar abandons a barn post when it wont sink into the ground at Hangman's. It made me think of the dozens of times I have watched many great builders try to fit a barn or warehouse post in a vanilla height space only to change their design when it didn't fit.
Here is a quick tutorial on some of the methods I use. I'm sure there are lots of you who know these tricks already but I'm not seeing them used on YouTube so I figured it can't hurt to spread some knowledge.
I know it takes a bit of setup initially but once you have your placeholder set you can make as many posts as you want rather quickly. I just set up the placeholder at the beginning of a build and wait until the build is done to scrap it.
I learned about the garden plot from tim-timman here is a link to his videos. Although he doesn't show the garden plot here he has some really interesting vids. youtube.com/channel/UCVrUvJySeKdWor7aj3Qxb9Q/videos
Another thing with the garden plot it's not only useful at Hangman's. If you have a really built up crowded settlement you can build stairs to the sky and use the garden plot up there to group select to your hearts content without picking up your whole settlement..
I hope this technique helps and be sure and check out Sardeliac's channel. He has some amazing videos and knowledge to share.
On a side note I've discovered a way to make flickering and alternating neon MUCH MUCH simpler. I've also figured out some new neon tricks that I haven't seen anyone else do yet. I'll be uploading an updated tutorial soon. If you haven't seen my neon vids maybe take a sec to check out the first minute or so to see what I'm talking about but keep in mind the new method is WAY easier
FLICKERING NEON
youtube.com/watch?v=hFxIoJHmMSU
ALTERNATING NEON
youtube.com/watch?v=C5BwJDdV9Z8
If you have any questions or comments feel free to post below.
This technique is another way to play with the meaning of signs like we did in the flickering neon video. This technique is a lot easier then the flickering signs to build.
0:40 since the power radiators have a much smaller radius then the conduits l prefer to use them when possible. A big disadvantage is they are not able to be rug glitched. This is not a problem here as we can pillar glitch them and hide them in the ground. If you are working close to another item or on a second story floor group selecting isn't going to work. In that case you have to manually move the power radiator far enough away that you can move the conduit junction a tiny bit with out it snapping to the radiator and then after it is positioned you can snap the radiator back to it. This can be a tedious process and it may be easier to use the regular conduit or the blue wall switch (stuck on some furniture) as both of those can be rug glitched. If your sign is a lot higher then mine was you may have to use the regular conduit on the ground as the radiators may not emit power high enough to reach the neon.
1:24 I did not sink either of the alternating radiators in this vid but they can be sunk just like the other ones or you could rug glitch something over them to hide them.
1:50 you have to group select the letters off of an existing non scrappable item in the game. This can be hard to do late in your build as room often gets tight. Plan ahead and leave some space. It is also important to place the "HO" slightly in front of the other letters as that makes it easier to isolate them from the front. Placing the "WA' slightly to the rear of "S&P" would have made those letters easier to isolate from behind but I did not do it in this case. Another thing to keep in mind is neon letters have black portions of the letters that do not light up but they can block light. In this case it was important to put the "H" in front of the "W" and not the other way around. If you put the "W" in front the black portion of the "W" blocks the vertical lines of the "H". Not all letter combinations are going to work with this Alternating Letter Technique. Obviously letters such as "E" and "F" are going to cover each other regardless of which one is in front or behind.
3:03 One of your alternating radiators needs to be hooked up to an interval switch. The standard interval timing is too long (in my opinion) so it needs to be shortened to 1 second on and 1 second off. Sometimes you have to wait for the interval switch to turn green to be able to log into the terminal. You can see the pause while I wait for it in the vid.
4:35 The other alternating radiator needs to be hooked up to both the interval switch and a XOR logic gate. The basic wiring procedure is to connect constant power to the input side of the logic gate (red) and also to connect a wire from the interval switch to the input (red) of the logic gate. The output side (black) gets wired to your second alternating radiator.
I hope this is clear enough to understand. If you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments below.
[UPDATE] A youtuber named NastyBonz3D has an alternative method that doesn't need a logic gate. This is great news for players without the contraptions DLC or those who don't like hearing the logic gate clicking. He also talks a little about his dominant and passive fields which makes this much easier.

I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)

0:11 The inspiration for overlaying the letters came from Draco Invictus. He showed how to change colors and brighten neon letters but not how to combine different letters. Obviously we are limited in which letters overlay each other properly. C+O, C+Q, E+F, P+R, 3+8, etc
Sometimes the letters will stick together so it is best to move them first before storing or scrapping lest you may lose them all.
**2**
0:32 Again we are somewhat limited in what letters we can combine (unless we partner this method with other techniques) I showed an F into A but some others include K=R, 7=T, C=G, Y=M etc. The letter to be pillar glitched must be attached to an existing non scrappable surface away from other objects in order for the group select to work.
**3**
1:06 There are many ways to cover the letters. Conduit, signs, taxidermy, glitchable items, etc. When using the Lettering in the "Wall Decorations" tab it works best to pillar glitch the neon letter. By pillar glitching you can place it closer to the wall then you can when placing it in build mode. When the neon is placed in build mode the stickers often go behind the neon.
**4**
2:20 I don't think there are many options for backwards letters. The only one I can think of is 3=E. However when combined with multiple techniques it opens up many possibilities. You can see a backwards 9 turned into a P in "scrappy"and a backwards B turned into an E in "letters"
**5**
3:05 When sinking letters it is a good idea to quicksave first. It is hard to judge the right angle and depth. Actually it is probably good to quicksave before placing any letter with any technique. I lost a whole wall full of letters while preparing this vid when I accidentally stored the wall.
**6**
4:06 Sky's the limit and it's all up to your imagination. HAVE FUN!!

There is a lot of info to cover &, much like the Starlight Drive in sign, I'm feeling burned out & decided to put out this vid as it stands. I know I glazed over a few details and I will make some additional videos that go more in depth on the techniques. There are several links below to other builders who inspired creative or technical details to make this work. Please visit their channels.
**INSPIRATION**
The idea came from the flickering fluorescent lights in Monster Barbell's incredible Barter Town vid.
**4 DIFFERENT FLICKER EFFECTS**
I tried to show multiple effects you can achieve with different timing. I went to the extreme to make sure they were noticeably different. I'm not 100% happy with the timing.
0:09 (Flicker on) I envision Piper and Nat sneaking around at night & messing with the Diamond City Surplus sign but alas there is no "Supplies" on that sign so I guess it will remain a dream... These lights are probably off too much and could benefit from some additional flickering. I used Draco Invictus' trick to brighten the intensity of some of the flickering letters.
0:23 (Flicker off & chase effect) These lights are on too much but I wanted to illustrate the difference. I used Draco's trick in the opposite way with the good letters glowing slightly brighter. The Girls Girls Ghouls chasing light effect comes from Checkers Prefect with an additional flash added so all three words illuminate together. 9:45 I accidentally used an older video clip where the GGG timing was off. I noticed this too late.
0:34 (Burned out and Homemade letters) Always off achieves much of the same look & feel of flickering with less work. The homemade "N" was built with a V & a couple I's. I debated removing the V & E from DRIVE to make it appear those letters were scavenged into an N but decided against it.
0:44 (Infinite spark) Limmy has a tutorial on this. [link below] Heads up.. READ HIS WARNING! Once you decide to lock it in it becomes permanent! My spark is not permanent because I followed his warning. It's possible to bury the spark into the wall and lower it's brightness which would make the N's flicker show better. Some alternatives to the spark are to glitch in a strobe or cycling light.
**CONDUITS AND RADIATORS**
1:11 Originally I was not aware that their power radii differed . It's much harder to isolate single letters with the conduit. The radiators are easier but they can't be rug glitched like the conduit can. Another option with a small radius & the ability to be rug glitched, when attached to furniture, is the blue switch but it's large and harder to hide. The conduits & radiators can be placed behind, in front, below, above, left, right or any combination depending on the environment. Pillar glitching the flickering letters closer or further from the wall can make it easier to isolate them.
**HIDING CONDUITS AND WIRES**
I will upload a vid showing some methods and ideas shortly.
**FLICKER CIRCUIT**
2:41 There are probably easier methods but this is how I figured it out. I've also seen some mechanical circuits that are probably more random (I think Monster Barbell used one). I'll post a link to Werty Perty that shows one. My basic circuit is interval switch then delayed on followed by delayed off. I'll make several of these each with different timing until I get the effect I like. You can also adjust the timing by stacking delayed on switches 1/4+1/8 =3/8 is an example. I'd post more info but I'm running out of characters that youtube allows in descriptions so I'll have to make a follow up vid of this technique.
**HIDING THE CIRCUIT**
9:09 Once hidden you can fish it back up using the post or you can use the under the map glitch.
**OTHER INFO**
9:30 In addition to anything named conduit the power counter, interval switch, and blue wall switch all emit power so watch where you set them.

I've never had much use for food paste. A recent video by Kevin Alibert inspired me to add food paste to all my settlements so I've been experimenting and trying to find some alternate uses.
If you've ever been around cows you know they poop a lot. Why would Brahmin be any different? Some Brahmin pies spread around the pen will add some simple realism.
Why is their crap a nasty pink color you ask? I don't know. Maybe it's caused by the same blessing of radiation from Atom that gave them two heads? Perhaps they've consumed too much Mutfruit and Tarberries? The most logical guess is because food paste was the item I found that was closest in resemblance to manure and it only comes in pink.
I used the Mod "OC Decorator" to place the food paste. I'm not sure if this is possible to build vanilla. I kind of feel bad as Kevin has expressed a dislike of OC D and here I am showing a technique inspired by him that he can't do.

.
As you can probably tell the title of the vid is a bit misleading. The items still sink but we are controlling that sink.
These methods are probably obsolete now with place anywhere and SwaPA Mods readily available but some people don't have Mods and these methods may still be quicker even if you do have those Mods.
A quick disclaimer. I have not tried this with every item. I'm sure these techniques are not going to work in every situation or with every object but they should work in the majority of cases.
**Method 1 Rug Drop**
I prefer this method when possible. You can re-position the item multiple times before you remove the rug. That is the strongest asset of this technique. It is also possible to set the rug dropped item on a chain of rugs for longer reach. Just be sure to delete the rug the item is tethered to first.
**Method 2 Rug lift**
Some items like the Nuka Cola machine either can not be rug dropped or are very difficult to rug drop. That is when I lift them. One downside to this method is you usually only get one chance to set it where you want as trying to group select it again is likely to grab nearby objects. This method also works with a chain of rugs for more reach. The same advice applies here. Remove the rug closest to the item first.
**Method 3 Drop and Lift**
Some items like that counter I showed in the vid, shelves, etc become entangled with the rug. In those cases I have found dropping and then lifting usually works. The downside to this is exactly the same as method 2.
**Other info**
I tried to show a few of the difficulties I've encountered. Some objects are sensitive to heights. Tables seem to be notorious for this. Experiment with different heights and you might find the sweet spots. The tier (see I can spell after all) 1 shops seem to only work when dropped from high up. I'm sure there are other finicky things I forgot to include in the vid.
If you discover any other methods or uses for these techniques or figure out some solutions for problems I don't know I'd love to hear them in the comments.
If by some rare chance you've never heard of the rug glitch before check out TheAdiposeTV's tutorial

I guess settlers really can sleep almost anywhere after all.
With the lifestyle that raiders live I'm not even sure all of them would have beds and even if they did I'm not sure they would use them all the time. With all the drinking and chems going on I imagine many of the raiders would simply pass out on the floor or crash on the nearest couch and not even make it to their beds.
I've been meaning to make a vid on this since my very first "No more bare mattresses video" so here it is in all it's quick and dirty, unedited, and poorly filmed glory.
I tried to show multiple ways this can be done. First using what I call the "rug drop" technique, second by showing how to glitch the sleeping bag or mattress into an item, and lastly by glitching an item over an elevated sleeping bag or rug. Different scenarios and items require different techniques.
I also tried to show a couple of substitute items for the concrete pillar. I know not everyone has purchased all the DLC's. Hell I just bought them on Black Friday. The bloody totem is in the vanilla game so everyone can use it and it's what I had been using exclusively for a long time.
It is best to assign the settlers to the sleeping bags or mattresses before you glitch them in place. It can be hard to select them once they are glitched. I also like to make sure the settler uses the bed before I glitch it into place. Some settlers like to stay up all night and never find their beds so I try to avoid using those settlers.
Update....... Shortly after uploading this I came across a vid by JakeFO4 with a settler sleeping on a couch via a link in Phoenix's channel.
Here are the links to both of them.
Phoenix's channel: youtube.com/channel/UCd-ASjUCvDG8Xd4b0qpG8YA
Jake's vid: youtube.com/watch?v=IyMUNLUFJB4&feature=youtu.be
The concrete pillar from the wasteland workshop is probably a better tool choice then my raider totem and the metal post in the contraptions DLC may be even better since it is thinner then the concrete.
I tried to demonstrate how to do this on an existing floor or second story by using the fence post after setting the height with a pillar.
Link to Jug's amazing channel
youtube.com/user/PLlSKlN/featured
youtube.com/watch?v=KIvpXqCVDNc
So I made this vid showing how to do this using the "pillar glitch" and "rug pillar glitch" instead.
As I mentioned in the other vid the settlers will use these beds but it is best to assign them to the sleeping bags. If you let them choose their own beds you can end up with multiple settlers sleeping on top of each other. The settlers will not move the sleeping bags but they will knock the pillows around so it may be best to only put the pillows out for settlement tours.
Obviously these look slightly different then the in game raider turrets as our turret still has it's base attached. You can use the rug drop technique shown in my "No more bare mattresses" video youtube.com/watch?v=KIvpXqCVDNc to add a metal box or wooden crate inside the cart to make it look more like a raider turret with no legs. Another option would be to fill the cart with junk.
This build can be a bit fussy and sometimes the cart will jump 10-20 feet away. It can take many tries to get the cart to stay put. As I showed at the end the Super Mutant cart is much easier to work with if you don't mind the entrails and yes that last rug can be removed but I got sick of wasting time.
I found this particular "clean" cart near Hardware Town and carried it to my settlement. Carts can be found in various other places throughout the commonwealth.
I've found it best to carry all carts, mannequins, etc to your settlement before building anything. Often the act of carrying things into your settlements will cause decorations to fall off shelves and thru floors.
Link to norespawns build- youtube.com/watch?v=qC2yA1YSb04
I'm sure somebody has figured out this rug drop trick but I've searched and haven't found any vids on it. It is useful in many ways and not just for bed decoration.
After doing several fast travels or saves you can come back and remove the mats without the sleeping bags dropping thru the beds. Sometimes it can take a long time and it's easier to just cover them with suitcases.
