Well I did, and it was dusty AF. I couldn't believe how much dust there was. But then I thought about it... I did buy it in spring of 2022, and it's been sucking in air to keep it cool for 3 years. It's gonna get dusty. Why is that a problem? Well, if you don't have good airflow through your Mac Studio it can get hot, and heat is the enemy of ultrafast computing. If your Mac Studio gets too hot it may throttle performance in order to keep the Apple Silicon cool. The last thing you need when you're choppin' some serious broccoli is Mac that's throttling performance. When I spotted this 2007 G-Technology G-Drive Q for only $10, I knew I had to buy it to figure out if I could use it in my photography editing workflow. I love the design of these old drives, and I also love the idea of saving something that was destined for the trash bin or the shelf at a thrift store. If you like the look and vibe of this video, I shot it using my vintage Canon VIXIA HF100 camcorder and applied a Kodak Vision3 250D film emulation to it using FilmConvert Nitrate. If you have an older Mac with a SuperDrive this is quite easy, but if you have a Mac Pro, a MacBook Air or a MacBook Pro you'll need to grab Apple's USB SuperDrive accessory for $79 from the Apple Store. If you can't find one there or at your local Apple Store, you can always turn to eBay where there are, I'm sure, many of them up for sale. Then I noticed several other vintage Apple clothing items, and I knew instantly I had to have them. Fortunately Workshop will take trade-ins for store credit, so I started raiding estate sales and thrift stores for their best vintage items and bringing them into Workshop to trade up to their best Apple items. It's been quite a ride thrifting A TON of clothing, but this item I found on eBay was just too good to pass up. Apple doesn't promote anything with physical products like t-shirts anymore, but they sure did back in the late '90s. Editing text with a title tool, using the Transform Tool to adjust scale or position - these adjustments were freezing Final Cut.In this video I'm going over what seems to be causing this to happen while, unfortunately, not coming up with a root cause that allows us to resolve the issue. One bug has to do with audio skimming and playing back audio one frame at a time using the left and right arrow keys. Some users are reporting that you can no longer hear audio when using the arrow keys.The second bug is one that I'm experiencing. Any time I try to interact with an element in the Viewer to transform it with scale or position or rotation, Final Cut Pro hangs. It doesn't quit, it doesn't crash, I don't get a spinning rainbow wheel... It just hangs. If I try to change my text with the title tool or use a mask effect it hangs. Any time I "touch" an element in the Viewer, Final Cut Pro hangs.This is happening on my M1 Max Mac Studio, my M1 Pro 14" MacBook Pro, but it IS NOT happening with my M2 Pro Mac mini.Are you having any issues with Final Cut Pro 10.8?
