We all live in surveillance states at this point, nothing new there. What I wanted to do here is show you how surveillance footage can be turned into actual filmmaking; and, surprisingly, I found a whole bunch of projects that do this, all in the world of Essay Films. So today I'll be going over how these directors from different parts of the globe manage to deconstruct the all-seeing eye of surveillance cameras and, in the process, our perception of reality and fiction.

Hello spooky people! We're back with more overlooked analog horror stuff; this time it's something that might be familiar to some of you english speakers: The Minerva Alliance. This is a collaborative project that has uploaded a few videos and has also gotten a good amount of views, all things considered, but for some reason has never reached the attention it deserved. All of the uploads are basically little standalone episodes tied together by the overarching "Alliance" itself, a sort of lowkey SCP Foundation kind of organization. I thought it would be cool to take a look at it together and just to try and do what's in my power to give it a bit of extra notoriety.

If you liked any of these bands, you might be as emotionally tied to them as I am, and they'll always be a well of nostalgia. What I wanted to ask myself in this video is: were they actually as bad as many people seemed to think?

Thank you for watching and See you space teenagers...10 Nostalgic Paranormal GreentextsMuldered2024-08-08 | Warning: contains flashing lights.
Buonasera everyone! We're back with a nostalgic look at a corner of the internet that definitely influenced my tastes in horror during my teenage years: 4chan's Paranormal board /x/. Specifically, we're gonna be looking over some old and classic greentexts from the good old days, asking ourselves if they still hold up at all. We'll see what makes the format cool (comparing it with something like r/Nosleep, for example) and what makes it kinda...lame.
As always the background music is by me ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ muldered.bandcamp.com (I'm reusing the same music for now, I'll upload a new compilation when I'll have enough material)

Buonasera everyone, back at it with some spooky stuff
I wanted to talk about analog horror again, but everybody and their moms is doing it, and everything seems to have been already covered. That's when I thought "hey why not look for something outside of the english speaking community" and I did. Центросибирские хроники (Chronicles of Centrosibirsk), which I'll be calling just "Siberian Chronicles" in this video (because that's what they called it in their first uploads), is a very interesting series that not many know about. What I tried to do in this video is put out my theories about it and translate most of it so english speakers can enjoy it too. I hope I've done it justice. (Be prepared, there's lots of text.)

Thank you for watching!Italy’s Most Haunting ComposerMuldered2024-06-15 | Warning: contains flashing lights.
Buonasera everyone and welcome back! This one is near and dear to my heart, if you enjoy it, please check out Cilio's music, it's worth it.
What makes a piece of music haunting? Today we'll be starting from H.P. Lovecraft's short story "The music of Erich Zann", which always made me wonder what that kind of mysterious and otherworldly music might sound like. Years after reading the tale, I stumbled across Luciano Cilio's album "Dialoghi del presente" on Rateyourmusic, and I immediately fell in love. I found especially the opening track (Primo quadro "della conoscenza") to have that creepy but alluring quality to it and I suddenly remembered the story. After that I started reading up on the composer himself and found out about the tragic story of his life: the young italian musician made only one LP, and after being pretty much shunned by Naples' music industry, he took his life in 1983, when he was only 33 years old. This video is kind of a tribute to his craft, trying to delve a bit deeper into the track in an effort to convince you to give it a listen.
Thank you for watching!

We all love vampires, right? Well, I sure do. In this video I wanted to take a look at the recent history of western vampires and the way they've gone from evil and terrifying monsters to hot models in the span of a century, while also trying to answer the question of what makes them so special and cool. So join me on this little trip, in which I hope you'll have a good time! (Obviously there are many missing examples of films, books, games, etc.; but in order to make the video a bit shorter and more digestible I decided to concentrate on the examples that I personally find most interesting.)
Music by me, as always :^) You can find it on Bandcamp! muldered.bandcamp.com (except the obvious meme songs and the Bill Wurtz jingles...)
