I was going to go to the St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store in Port Orchard on Bethal Road however it was not open yet so I drove down to Dollar Tree. (I did not record the short drive back to the Thrift Store.)
Driving from Tumwater to Gig Harbor on 09.12.2026 MVI 0297 Edsel Corsair 2026-09-14 | Driving from Taco Bell on Trosper Road in Tumwater, Washinton to Burnham Drive in Gig Harbor where I stopped to change the camera battery before continuing on to Port Orchard, Washington while on my way to Thunderbird Stadium for the 2026 KDDA Championship. I actually was able to get Hank FM 101.5 out of Seattle tuned in while in the Taco Bell parking lot so, unlike the previous video, this one has radio. Sadly, my camara quit just as I was getting on the freeway so I did not include that first 2 minutes here. I restarted the camara about 30 seconds after it shut off so you will not get to see me pulling out of the parking lot or entering the freeway on ramp. One good thing is that, unlike last year, the Narrows Bridge was not fogged in this year so you can actually see it!

Also, sadly, because of the stupid way the radio works in my new car, I was not able to tune in to KITI 1420 AM, one of my most favorite radio stations before setting out and I did not want to dork around with the radio while driving.

I chose a Saturday to record in the hopes of considerably less congestion and that did indeed work out. (This would have been a VERY boring video if recorded on a weekday due to Oregon's SLOW, inadequate and heavily congested freeways!) One final note, I SO wish K-Love would fix that stupid issue with their transmitter that causes their signal to pop out at random intervals for 1 - 2 seconds at a time. That issue has been coming and going for months and it drives me up the wall. I listen to talk radio most of the week but there are no good talk shows on the air in the PDX market on Saturday afternoon, I am totally burned out on most other music stations with short, repetitive playlists and neither Outlaw Country Radio 102.7 FM, nor KISN come in well in this area.

Was planning to go to the Goodwill Store however they were not open yet so I drove back to WinCo. (Also, I recently heard that the brain surgeons at ODOT are actually planning to put a traffic circle at the junction of Oregon 99W and Oregon 18 near Lafayette! What a mess that will be when everyone has to slow down to 15 mph, especially when traffic is heavy!)
