Terraria Overworld Chiptune Remix Star Haven 2024-01-12 | Its been a good while since I've dove into Terraria, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. Remixing the first song you hear upon opening up your world was a joy, and giving it a sound that matches the look I felt was a fun task, sending it back to a more snes era style.The Footage you see is actually a world record speed run I did of all pre-hardmode bosses, which I developed the strategies you see here, many of which are still used by the terraria speed running community to this day! I was the first to break the 20 minute barrier, then brought it down to 16 minutes, and then discovered an even faster route with using teleportation potions to drop to hell. I got really lucky in this run and got jungle hell, which due to hidden mechanics of the jungle allows for more spawns on screen with a faster spawn rate, giving me a better and faster chance at getting the voodoo doll demon to come to spawn the wall of flesh, which normally would be the last boss you fight, but if you do it fast enough like i did here, you then are done with all bosses before night fall at 11m15s into a new world which is the soonest possible time to fight eye of cthulhu and skeletron, which you have to fight both at the same time, and i also fought brain of cthulhu and king slime at the same time before wall of flesh, in the end being the first to break 12 minute mark. I didnt hold the record which got beaten by 1 second and before I could grind further a few months later the next version of the game released.Buuuuut, that's for another story. Exor: The Sword that Splits the Heavens in Super Mario RPG (3D Print Tutorial) Star Haven 2023-10-28 | After 4 incredible months of work, Exor has been completed. While Exor in Super Mario RPG is this Mountain sized Sword that Splits Bowsers Castle, I have gone ahead with some creative freedom, made him into a wieldable Broadsword, and is the only one of his kind. While I had attempted this a few years ago, I found that there were some changes that needed to be made to make Exor a well functioning Broadsword.First, the biggest visual change was too his pommel. This is the top of the sword, which is used as both a resting point and a guard. Exor having Horns here proved to be an issue, so I have given him a Loop Ring Connecting his horns, providing safety for his head, and a multipurpose guard and attack mode. Now the sword can be spun on the Pummel at high velocity, or swung by handle for brute force.The second big change was actually the Handle. Ive shorted the length quite a bit, almost half in fact from his source. Based on the shape of his handle, it was too fat to be a single handed sword, but too small for 2 hands to fit comfortably, not to mention to much girth to get a good grip. By proportionally shrinking the handle, Ive given a lot of balance to the sword as a single handed weapon, without sacrificing its capable power.Exors face was also modified quite a bit. He had almost such a large bulge above his mouth that in some of his renders it looked like a beak. So ive met a middle ground on this area, while also shrinking his mouth to create a uniform face that retains his menacing look.The process itself was difficult. I needed to create something that could be done in segments, but still have the strength to be swung. Thus, I did insertion modeling to fiercely attach each segment to each other. I ruined several pieces of clothing wrestling with the attachments of these segments, especially around the cross guard hands as there was no way to securely clamp them to keep them still while it dried, thus having to hold them for hours on end, which had excess Glue drip out onto my clothing and skin.To get such a smooth finish, I started with an 80 grit sand paper, than 120. than 200. After grinding down the PLA plastic from the printer so that only the gap between the print lines remained at its smallest, did I apply Bondo to every part of the print. Bondo, while water dissolving, works extremely well with 3d prints as the gaps between the layers are often smaller than .01mm, which keeps the water from coming in and breaking it down. Sanding again just from 120 and 200 from here, creates a very smooth finish. This was the first time really using Bondo to this capacity, So if I had known this was going to work so well, I would have made his Face less Polygonal, but I still think the effect of the design shines well with the Gold in those areas. After the Bondo, I applied several coats of Rust-o-leum rattle can primer, which is very thin and can fill spots exceptionally well. Doing a 200 grit and then 1000 grit sanding after this makes the print ready for final paint. I started with the areas I wanted to put down Gold. I did every aspect of paint with Rattle Can Rust-o-leum paint, so for the sake of speed Ill be saying just the color from here. The gold dries incredibly quick, as do most metallic paints. So its easy to get a lot of layers down fast, however the con of it is that it shows every imperfection. I started with the gold rather than the blade portion because I knew the blade was at biggest risk of being scratched. Then, one by one, I sealed off areas with Painters Tape. Doing the Gloss white for the pommel, claws and fangs, then matt black on the eyes and eye backings of the pommel, then the red for the handle and pommel eyes (To show it can be harmed for those of you lore enthusiasts), then the black again for the handle, and then finishing up with the dark steel on the blade.I have a couple of small leaks here or there, but with a quick touch up the will fill nicely. then I'll be applying a sealer semi-gloss to the whole sword to keep it nice.Thank you all for your support, and this is just the beginning of the 3d prints I have in store. In fact, there will be a Geno raffle once I hit 1k subs, but I have some cool projects that wont take nearly as much time coming down the line! Luigi Goes Shopping Star Haven 2023-10-27 | This was so much fun to do. I definitely learned a lot about narration and already have been experimenting with the limits of what AI is able to write. The images arent really anything super special, but boy are they jarring to look at. maybe 1/100 the Bing AI tool (Which uses chat gpt 4 for text and DallE for images) will create a super stellar image without any real mistakes but you have to be ultra lucky and specific on the first shot. Often edits to the original prompt will just lead to getting the scene right but with errors, especially in the hands and extra limbs and often extra characters even if you ask for a solo picture. It also cant do text, even just a single word, spelled right, despite being able to mimic fonts and create its own very unique fonts. Ai may still be in its infancy, but as far as the writing side goes, it shocked me. I barely gave it 2 sentences and it took off. The dirt and weed salad and wario getting sick from it is one of my favorite parts, and mario just showing up out of nowhere surprised me.What did you guys think of my voices? doing them all sequentially was definitely hard and sometimes created not great results, but I am trying to be more free hand with my content and just grow rather than nit pick the details. If you have any prompt ideas, especially when it comes to mario, luigi, Waluigi and Toad, id love to hear it. These two custom-made trophies were created for the upcoming Beak Bonk 2023 event, with the sword being awarded to the winner of the Brawl Singles competition.The Falco Trophy has a rich backstory, as it has become an iconic symbol of the "Red Jacket Falco" bracket, a Melee tournament held annually in Eastern Washington. The champion of this event earns the privilege of exclusively using the Red Jacket Falco for the following year's tournaments.In the spirit of giving back to the community, both trophies were created specifically for this event.
