Arab Spring (Pt5): Iran, Syria, the Palestinian Split and Conclusions Joniversity 2012-08-19 | Part 5 (and last) of Joniversity's 'Great Arab Spring Project' - this time focusing on Iran and Hezbollah's meddling in Syria in efforts to keep Assad's regime in place and the Shiite crescent intact (for political, military and religious reason), as well as the Palestinian divide between the pro-Syrian Socialist camp and the more Hamas oriented Sunni camp, the former supporting Assad's brutal crackdown on its population (including Palestinians) and the latter supporting the Free Syrian Army and the rebel forces. A recognition earned by bribing Iranian Shiites to issue a special fatwa which joined them artificially into Shiite Islam - and by that make Iran a strategic ally which together with Hezbollah in Lebanon, completes the Shiite Crescent: engulfing the entire middle east and posing a strategic threat specifically to the Saudi Whabbi Sunnis and their allies in the gulf region. Making all of the above active players within the Syrian revolution, while adding to the fuel, Russia which is motivated by both political and financial incentives in the form of: A) Gas and weapon deals, B) the alliance with Iran (and its own gas, oil, and weapon shipments), and C) preserving the little that is left from the soviet ear hegemony. Lastly also Turkey is briefly mentioned (although they deserve a full video of their own) regarding its need in a sympathizing and stable regime in Syria, as a means to secure a front as a regional dominator and to control Syrian and Iraqi Kurdish elements that are struggling to get their independence from Turkey. This has led Assad to arm the Kurdish PKK after his relationship with Erdogan went to the shits as a way to weaken Turkish stands and issue a soft threat. Palestinian State in September? (AKA: Black Spet. The Sequel) Joniversity 2011-07-31 | What's up with the whole declaration of a Palestinian state in September? Is it a trick to get Israel to flinch? Is it a hollow threat aimed at freaking people out? Maybe it's a smart maneuver to get the Palestinian street take arms and launch a third Intifada? Or just another part of the PLO's phased plan of 1974?... or maybe, just maybe - they actually mean it - and suddenly although everything they say to their own people points to the contrary - they really want a Palestinian state within the borders of 1967. Well the Obama for all his faults said that the U.S. will veto any attempt to recognize a Palestinian state in the security council - this means that the only place a Palestinian state will be recognized is in the U.N.'s General Assembly using the "Uniting for Peace" resolution which allows the G.A. to declare non-binding declarations when the security council members fail to get to an understanding. The problems of suddenly going to the U.N. are too numerous to count. First of all isn't it weird that the Palestinians will use as their grounds the two U.N. resolutions (resolution 181 and 242) that they have categorically dismissed in the past? And isn't weird that the same U.N. members that drafted those resolutions which called the sides to reach an agreement based on negotiations will suddenly endorse a side because he is unwilling to negotiate...
