Clone Console - Mega Drive X - Russian Import - Fake SEGA Genesis Mk3 - Mini Review RetroGameTech 2013-09-22 | A quick look and mini review of another Sega Mega Drive/Genesis clone. This one has been modeled to resemble the smaller Sega Genesis 3. It looks to have been manufactured in China then exported and sold in Russia. The date stamp on the mainboard says 2010 so it's a relatively new clone. I've seen quite a few on eBay in the past and that's where I found this one. It's of the console-on-a-chip (TCT 6801) variety and not a true hardware clone.Thanks for watching!

This appears to be a backlit Australian AGS-101 GameBoy Advance SP in Pearl Blue. At the time of making this video, I could fomd no documentation or confirmation that the AGS-101 was released in Australia. Secret Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console Easter Egg - Native Resolution + 3D Retro Bonus - Shantae RetroGameTech 2013-07-28 | Just a quick video to highlight a very cool hidden feature of the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console. It allows you to play GBC and GB games in their native resolution but also adds a bonus retro feature which makes use of the consoles 3D screen!To activate, just hold down Start+Select while booting either GB or GBC Virtual Console games. And holding L+R then pressing Y in regular GameBoy games makes the screen go green just like on an original DMG console!The game I use in this video as my example is Shantae. Nintendo MP3 Player - Mini Review - GBA/DS Lite Compatible Music Cartridge RetroGameTech 2013-07-09 | A quick look at the official Nintendo MP3 player for GBA and DS. I found this cool little first-party peripheral for only 98p in my local HMV's pre-owned section. I'd never seen one of these before so thought I'd make a quick video about it.The box says it's only compatible with DS, DSL and GBA Micro but it seems to work fine on my GBA SP with no problems. Sadly it doesn't appear to be compatible with SDHC crads so you are limited to using the older SD cards with a max capacity of 2GB. Thanks for watching.
Scorpion XVI SEGA MD Clone - Bootleg Console Review + Teardown - Fake Genesis Mega Drive RetroGameTech 2013-07-06 | A review, unboxing and teardown of the Magic 2 (a.k.a. Scorpion XVI, Aito, MG-16), an early 90's SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis 1:1 hardware clone. The unique thing about this bootleg console is that it uses many of the exact same components found in a real Mega Drive. Even more impressive is the fact that it's actually compatible with the Mega CD add-on! (and 32X with a bit of soldering ;p)The Scorpion 16 pirate console is probably best known for it's brief appearance on the early 90's gaming TV show Bad Influence. If you haven't already seen the now infamous clip with Andy Crane and Violet Berlin then I highly recommend checking it out...http://youtu.be/a_0g8zHhzd8Something interesting I noticed after reviewing this clip again is that the console Andy Crane is holding doesn't actually have a second cartridge slot fitted to it! Wii Scaler + SLG Installation - A Behind The TV Adventure! - GameCube Scanlines RetroGameTech 2013-06-07 | A video of me venturing behind the TV to install/integrate my cheap VGA scaler, SLG3000 and Dreamcast VGA box into my entertainment unit. I also give some examples of how the scaler + SLG improve the visuals of Wii and GameCube games as well as homebrew emulators. I also waffle for a bit about what's going on behind my setup and how things are hooked up.Overall I'm very impressed with the scaler+SLG combo when used with the Wii. It genuinely looks like a completely different console to me now! The colours are vibrant, the image is sharp and the scanlines are beautiful. I actually want to play the system now! :)I have the Wii set to output a 480p 4:3 aspect ratio signal over the component cables. Those are then hooked up to the scaler which outputs a 480p VGA signal which feeds into the SLG3000. That then goes to into my TV's VGA input and displays on screen as a 60Hz 480p 4:3 image. My Dreamcast displays the same image but doesn't require the scaler.
