The sequence isn't actually called Rainbow Road I just titled the video that because it reminded me of the original Mario Cart on Snes. I had uploaded it because at the time I was really into pre-CGI video synthesizer analogue effects. All the analogue (audio) synth stuff that came up at this time felt like a very organic re-explotaion of this era sounds and visuals from people of a certain age who childhood memories of pre CGI / digital audio production media. I think Ariel Pink also had allot to do (certainly for me) with triggering this.A weird co-incidence is that before I knew who Sunset Corp was, I had been listening to (and was hugely into) his other works as KGM Man & OPN on the 'Pontone Spectral Cassettes, Vol_ 3' (2009). It wasn't until I read OPN's interview with Simon Reynolds in his book 'Retromania' that I learned it was the same person and that he had found and used this copy of the video.Another footnote is that youtube circa 2007-2010ish was a really interesting space to discover lost media, cutting edge art and make connections with people with similar esoteric interests. You used to be able to see other users followers, their likes and even add them as 'friends'. It facilitated allot of artistic output (including presumably nobody here), networking and trend setting. It was an amazing artist social media platform possibly only rivaled by Tumblr a few years later.I still have friends who I met through this period youtube now 15 years on...

The two pieces featured are by Kosmische/Krautrock band 'Neu!'. The first piece, the throbbing drone thats used as the master's theme, is called 'Super'. The second faster piece, featuring banshee wails, is called 'Super 16'.
